  1. A is video B is RAW I just cant figure how you managed to do so bad work with RAW developement. No NR, no CA correction, no sharpening.... Is Samsung lens really so bad concerning uncorrected CA? Is this Samsung lens? Does both photos even use the same lens? IrfanView shows number of different colors in photo.
  2. A is much better. B is soft and has tons of CA. If A is from video I am very surprised. Of course you can adjust RAW very bad but if A is video it is amazing.

    4:4:4 ETC with GH4

I made better samples. http://***URL removed***/forums/post/54849358 1. 4k center crop 2. 4k 2x dig zoom downsampled to fullhd 3. ETC fullhd 4. best JPG center crop 1920x1080 5. RAW (ACR) center crop 1920x1080 I noticed that the sensor debayering ruins fine color detail even in RAW photo and levels the differences of different modes. GH4 4:2:0 4k video and ETC is very close to best camera JPG in 100% sensor readout. 4:4:4 RAW is sharper but not perfect. If I use 4k/2x dig zoom I get a little sharper result that cropping 4k or using ETC. I think that Samsung NX1 with 6.5k sensor debayering and downsampling is maybe far better than GH4 in 4k video. I think that even 100% RAW is worse in GH4. We will see.

    4:4:4 ETC with GH4

It was a quick test in bad light. Iso was 200 and there is lots of sharpening and added color. I tried to figure if color res is better. I must test more in good light. Still seems that 4k 2x is the way to go if a high magnification is the goal. But no 60P then.

    4:4:4 ETC with GH4

I tested a little 4k+2x digital zoom vs fullhd+ETC. Both read 100% sensor pixels but 4k 2x seems to be sharper. So if I want the best magnification 4k is better than ETC. I dont know if it does 2x digital zoom before or after 4:2:0 color sampling. Seems that the colors are not improving very much compared to 100% ETC. The sensor is noisy and a bit blurred anyway at 100%. Sample frames: http://***URL removed***/forums/post/54842900

    4:4:4 ETC with GH4

Is there anybody who understands my idea. It is to get high magnification video with i.e. 100-300mm lens and 444 fullhd. Better than normal ETC. Better than cropped 4k. Internally.

    4:4:4 ETC with GH4

    I mean 8bit 4:4:4 ETC when downsampling from 8bit 4k 4:2:0. I must test if 4k 2x digital zoom is good upsampling.
  8. Can I have 4:4:4 1080P ETC if I use 4k and 2x digital zoom? It is then 100% sensor upscaled to 200%. With 4k I can then downsample to 4:4:4 fullhd.
  9. The jittering looks the same as with certain Panasonic POWER OIS lenses (14-140mm v2 and 35-100mm 2.8). It still seems that the jitter is not bothering the reviewers and the majority of users. I have GH4 and 14-140mm v2 and the jittering ruins my handheld video shots and I am very unhappy. Stabilization program makers would be pleased if this is the future trend of OIS.
  10. I think that Canon has a good reputation of quality. Their products works, image quality may not be the best but it is also important that the camera is reliable. I have had lots of quality issues with Panasonic. Video quality is very good but cameras and lenses are not working good, there are too much faults and issues and break downs.
  11. Here are 3 more videos showing the 14-140mm v2 OIS vibration. The vibration shows even in low res clips.
  12. I think that GH4 codec is not breaking. It is the noisy sensor which breaks down when digging curves too much. GH4 has so much curve adjustment range that I can get the same lightness of midtones at iso200 and iso1600. It is not looking very good though. Is the Samsung image bad at contrast -10?
  13. This sample video has so high contrast that there is no detail in blacks. It is very far from what an eye sees. GH4 can record more natural look with much better dynamic range even if it has some noise and dark tone blurring. I still prefer noisy and blurred dark tones compared to total blackness.
  14. Intro clips has strong OIS vibration. Is the Samsung OIS also vibrating like some Panasonic lenses? Or was these clips OIS OFF.

    YouTube 60fps

If we want reality 4k 60P in a very big screen it is. Art and old "look" is another matter.
  16. How can LX100 stabilizer be better than 12-35 f 2.8 because most users has told 12-35 stab is very good and has zero jitter? It leads to another question. Maybe the 12-35 stab is not good at all. People are just now figuring it out.
  17. I have thousands of jittering video clips shooted with problem lens Pana 14-140 v2. I would like to stabilize those all. What are my options other than sit many days with my computer and confirming and adjusting every clip with an editor or stab program. I have tried Mercalli V3 batch stabilization but it only uses automatic settings and crops way too much with auto settings.
  18. Andrews review: "...You can have auto-ISO with everything else set to manual which is good though....." ---------------------------- Sorry, I dont have LX100 and it seems to not have that feature . I wonder why is it so hard to program that very useful feature? Is it still a principle?
  19. LX100 has auto iso in M for video. So if it is not any more one of the Panasonics "manual mode principles" to not have anything auto in M why cant GH4 have it. Please FW update.
  20. I have read comments that LX100 has better video OIS than GH4 + 12-35mm.
  21. I made again some heavy testing today with my problem lens Pana 14-140 II. I shooted with a short monopod. I attached a heavy weight to monopods lower end and used it leaning to my body (not ground). Image looked very stable in EVF and I made some very slow and perfect pans and moves. When I came home and watched clips the same jittering was there. The OIS is so sensitive that any minor vibration makes it jitter. A good tripod or post stabilization is the only way to get decent shots
  22. Does the manual focus work? What is working and what is not working? Maybe there are some gears jammed on lens. Try to shake the lens when switching on. My Pana 100-300 autofocus jams too and it works if I shake it.
  23. I had finally today an opportunity to test another 14-140 mm II in a camera store. It behaved exactly the same as my copy. Noticeable micro vibration at 14mm. The salesman said he have talked with Panasonic import people in Finland and they confirmed that they know the issue and Panasonic is maybe working for FW fix. They said also it is a feature, not a fault. So we cant return our lenses or demand a fix. At least I know I dont have a faulty lens and on the other hand I know everyone has badly working OIS. I hope that as many as possible could report to service and demand a fix. I am still wondering why people are not complaining about this. How cant they see it or if they see it why dont they care?
  24. My GH3 has the same problem. Very foggy view. EVF lens is plastic and the coating is very soft. I have read other people in forums having the same issue too. I have not dared to clean or touch my GH4 EVF yet. My GH3 has also loose monitor, empty rolling front wheel and loose mem card door.
  25. More examples. In fact every sample in Vimeo or Youtube which contains handheld stationary shootings with 14-140 II has micro jitter. Look this at 0:49. Wide clip with micro jitter.
