Caution! WD-40 may ingrained between the cemented lenses... on the pic died lens from another Rectimascop 80/2x. It is not a pity, because she was so dead from fungus. But the possibility may be after WD-40. Maybe yes, maybe no...

Juank reacted to BasiliskFilm in Sony Will Announce the A6500
So apart from the overheating, the lack of 42 mp still files, and possibly a more user-friendly (though bulkier) form factor, the gap between the A6xxx series and A7Rii has narrowed considerably. For manual shooters, a focal reducer can get you the full frame look, and the 6K -> 4K S35 video mode on both bodies is probably very similar.
For those who can't afford an A7Rii, or the expensive full frame G lenses that add several thousand onto your investment, this could be an option to get comparable results.

Yeah, that says a lot, doesn't it. Honestly, Albert Fast has been doing great stuff with the G7! And it's an cheap as fuck camera that doesn't overheat! He uploaded this a few days ago:

All Sony cameras should come with ice cream. It helps with the cooling!

Juank reacted to Sean Cunningham in Anamorphic sample footage shot with the SLR Magic Anamorphot - and which lenses does it work best with?
Yes, the beauty of anamorphic isn't just about flares, though the LA7200 flares will likewise be influenced by both the type of light source being photographed as well as the taking lens, same as all adapters.
Watch any anamorphic feature length motion picture, which is the ultimate reason for this enthusiasm and why all this bent glass exists, and you will see shot after shot that are impossible with any projection lens(*), decent, excellent or trash. Waxing poetic about the sublime beauty of a single shot, the bloke who designed the glass or some historical bit of trivia might be all some folks are interested in. Other people need solutions that are actually functional and useful.
(*) unless you're one of those two, three maybe four fellows now that have designed little, laggy robots to slowly spin two lenses at once at pre-calibrated ratios that may or may not allow lens swaps + re-calibration shorter than a crew's meal break.
