I thought i would try shooting the Sony A7R2, hated it. Who cares about resolution if the color looks crap. My 1DC is going to have a brother.

Red does offer built in ND. The Motion Mount is electronic ND and works well.

Wow ! Canon just copied Red's EF mount .

I bought the A7R and the FE 55 1.8 thinking it would be better than my 1DC with canon glass for stills. I find I like the images from the canon way, way more. I sometimes switch between the two on shoots and i never can use the Sony shots. Now i'm Selling it. For me, canon just see's things the way i do. Thanks, Tim

Has anyone shot the new 4K pro res option with the Odyessey Q7 . The one big draw back with the 1DC is the huge file sizes . I read that they have just added it in a new firmware update . This would seem to be a great solution. Thanks, Tim

If you can't get a decent image out of the 1DC then forget about it . Get a DP4 and just shoot and forget about cameras!

The canon 1DC has no need to be hacked . Why do people keep asking about it. You know that they now sell monitors with peaking and false colors ? What would you suggest that the Magic Lantern hack would do?

It may be a pain in the neck, but the results are worth it. Good choice. Nothing in the price range looks better in my opinion. Everyone loves to bash canon, but when its all over and done, they look really, really good. And, for me, that's what it's all about. Just wish it had good HFR.

The slomo from the A7s and the G4are not useful for any kind of commercial application. Way too soft.

The price of the 1DC is about four times the cost of a sony or a panasonic . How many of those have you bought in the last wo years? How much time wasted messing around trying to get a decent image? In my mind its been worth every cent.

Too Funny! You should rename this blog the Canon 1DC sucks. Yet, you compare every camera you review to it. And, in my opinion, the best looking footage you have shot has been with it. Here's my best effort with the 1DC : I love this camera!

i don't remember Arri film cameras having focus peaking, wave forms, barely a video tap and yet somehow the accomplished the greatest movies ever made. I think people are really spoiled .

The footage you have posted looks like barf.

And as far as the footage from the 1 DC, its no where near it .

So far, i haven't seen any footage from the G4 that looks as good as the G3 .
