1. Andrew, do you think the 12-35 lens works well with the gh3 for video? I was worried that it was the sharpness of this lens that was causing the moire on the gh3 so I was hesitating about purchasing. furthermore, will there be an option to buy the gh3 and 12-35x in a kit? thanks
2. Spec sheet also mentions an 80% slow motion feature. Any comments?
3. ..still havent seen any footage of this tested and working. How can anyone be expected to donate if it looks like you could be lying right out of the gate? Not saying you are, I just don't understand why there isn't any footage available to view.
4. This thread says tested and working, but I have yet to see any footage...
5. I would keep the canon FD, the Nikkor, and the Helios. past that, shoot with all them, get a feel for which you like, which you don't, and sell off the latter.
6. but it doesn't make the nex5n any better of a camera.. The gh2 is still better, and the NEX7 is better from what i've seen (though I may be wrong on that) so what's the point?
7. I've read elsewhere that the NEX5n can be hacked and it's performance increased, but it caused it to overheat way too easily.  Andrew has mentioned cooling and fans several times, so it's probably that.
8. I came into this without even an ounce of evidence, But i'm fairly certain it's just a re-housed NEX-5n. I guess we'll find out tomorrow~  ;)
9. NICE. love the style!! Though I must question the use of the anamorphic here. It just seems to add softness around the edges to me. Why shoot with 'lesser' glass just because it's anamorphic?
10. "no way it takes a ssd. . . . no xlrs, no global shutter, no 4k . . ." No point, then. If you consider $3,795 semi-realistic with none of those features, then you'll be pleasantly surprised to know that the BMC has an SSD and the Digital Bolex has one, too, as well XLRs and a global shutter. And both are priced well below $3,795. If the new camera doesn't offer something different or better -- or at least a lower price -- there really isn't much point.
super35mm sensor would make it worth it for me..

Hope i'm wrong.
I don't think you're wrong. Plus, if it's a truly new camera, it's unlikely that EOSHD.com would get the exclusive. It would likely be all over the interwebs. But I'll play along anyway. It's a 4K-sensor-based camera from GoPro, and it outputs CineForm RAW as well as CinemaDNG and log DNxHD. Like the Blackmagic Design camera, it has a built-in 6-Gbps SSD drive and 3G-SDI port, but also an HDMI port and dual XLRs. Its sensor has a global shutter, a dual readout (yielding a dynamic range of 110 dB -- more than 16 stops), and frame rates up to 120 fps. It costs $3,795 without the lens or LCD.
no way it takes a ssd. wouldn't be surprised if gopro decided to take a shot at the prosumer market in a form that isnt a disposable camera, considering they own cineform. no xlrs, no global shutter, no 4k, and this might be semi-realistic. Though i'm not sure how successful it would be.

13. Very well shot, but a little amateur when it comes to composition of the piece. -First of all I think it was a little long, i got past 2 minutes and then became bored. +I really liked the folly sounds of the building running, glad you kept that running over the entire video -Do your slider both ways, get two directions of every shot, that way you can pick and choose which ones you want later. after getting halfway through, 99% of the sliding shots slid to the right. Looked great though!  :)

Your random plug for the Gh2 was rather unnecessary I think. Also the bit about the 1Dx and the 1Dc using "similar hardware" was a bit misleading. Only if by that you mean that they are in the same body, and they arguably have the exact same hardware, but separate firmware.
You seem to be having a small fight with the facts here. The GH2 info was not a plug at all, when it comes to processing power the GH2's LSI has 3 cores and the 5D Mark III has 1. That means 1 core has to juggle more tasks and it does not have a dedicated encoder chip like the GH2 either. All relevant info when considering your purchase, me thinks. The 1D X and 1D C do share similar hardware. It isn't misleading in the least to say so! Always provide reasons behind a point of view.
I understand the need to compare the specs of different cameras, but the Gh2 was entirely unmentioned until you thought it was necessary to boast about it's specs and price. I realize that you like the camera, but when you plug how great it is in nearly every article, some may begin to question your journalistic integrity. (though i'm not saying I am. Just that the plug seems unnecessary in this case) Yes, I realize they share similar hardware, but the misleading part is HOW similar they are, which you really failed to mention. Not trying to be attacking, but I feel those were key points in relation to the topic that could have been addressed better.

16.
markm,  I wouldn't be quite so hard on Panasonic.  What they have done in an $800 Camera that others couldn't do with a $2500 camera is impressive.  Hacked or Not Hacked.  The lenses, sd cards, batteries, tripod, slider and lights I've purchased with the $1700 left over by not buying a 5DMII had to come from somewhere.
Except youre going to have to spend that extra money on 4/3s lenses.
17. higher mbs can be achieved through hacks (and are arguably unnecessary) but nothing looks more filmic than have the same dynamic range as film. I realize that's asking for a lot, but i'll take anything over the gh2's limited DR :/
18. that seems like its missing a solid wide choice though. 35mm on gh2 is a ~70mm on a full frame.. not exactly where I would place my establishing shots.
19.
Hey Andrew, what's so seriously bad about the 5D3? The tests without the AA filter you posted a while back looked damned good to me. Yes, that will affect the color of the images, but last I heard someone was working on a replacement filter. That should give you a kickass full frame camera that's still quite cheap considering the alternatives (actually there's not that many full frame alternatives). No one buys a RED not expecting to spend quite a lot of money on accessories, so having to buy this replacement filter so you can use a stills camera to shoot great video doesn't seem that bad to me!
plus after testing it was determined that taking out the AA filter has absolutely no effect on resolution. -On shooting resolution charts at least.
20. I strongly suggest you consider NEX 7. It's not quite as good, but it does offer other features, and has a much more.... (how to put this,) secure? lens selection. there are a LOT of new cameras coming out this summer and in Q4 of 2012, so if you can wait, i suggest you wait as long as you can.
21. very nice stuff!! Thankyou for keeping it short  8)
22.
I agree there is no sense to follow Canon's updates. I use both still and video capability of my 7D, and own quite a line of EF glass. So I plan to downgrade from 7D to 550D and use the money for the future BMCC. I don't care about the 7D "imminent" firmware update (gosh, it took them SO long to do any update). 550D is known as the best Magic Lantern'friendly camera, so I will finally use ML.
Want to buy my 550d then? :D magic lantern already installed
23. did you write the piece for dpreview, like you did for the mark3?
