1.
Black Magic just got a shout-out during the Apple Keynote address. I wonder how much that cost..
probably nothing, seeing as they are the ONLY camera manufacturer to embrace thunderbolt.
2. Didnt they say to expect it to ship in june?
3.
Christian How would you do this? As far as I understood the EF mount sticks out a long way making most lenses unworkable?
Here's one way: https://vimeo.com/album/1778542/video/12603788 I also imagine hotrodcameras will be developing a PL mount workaround as soon as the camera is shipping.
4. ..Why cant you guys just convert the EF to PL and then use Zeiss superspeeds? There are LOADS of PL lenses for s16 sized sensors
5. well, for video, you should be lighting your shots properly and deliberately to best suit your camera; so it's really a non-issue.
6. They are all m42 screw mount, if that helps at all?  :)
7. you're comparing it to an 85mm, and you should be comparing it to a 150mm.
8. Ok guys so here's the deal, I inherited a Vivitar set of primes (28mm f2.8, 50mm f1.8, and 125mm f2.8) from my mother. I'd love to have an 85mm to complete the set (excluding a 35???) but I can't seem to find one anywhere! :'( I'm sure several of you guys are much more savvy than I, as I don't know where to look other than ebay. (keh camera?) Anyway, any help you guys can give would be much appreciated. pictures of one of the lenses: http://imgur.com/a/Pude9
9. But it's an optically superb lens. Regardless, I wish we had more options with a M43 system. Yes the lens is amazing, but I cant afford amazing. I wish There was a tamron/sigma option that wasn't as "perfect," one that I could afford. >_>

11. hey guys, I have a canon vixia laying around collecting dust and I was wondering if anyone knew of a way to install driftwood's hack (or something similar) on it? thanks!
12. Definitely a solid option from panasonic, I'm happy to see them giving competition to the olympus f2, but I feel that it is just a LITTLE high of a price tag. Yes it is still 300$ cheaper than a canon 24-70, but the depth of field equivalent on a m43 system will be f5.6 (no?) If panasonic decides to price it at 1,000 flat, I would say it would be a must have for everyone with a m43 system. But at 1200$ I'm not sure a f2.8 is worth it for everyone. Event shooters? go ahead, sure. Narrative filmmakers? I would hold off. Thanks for the report, Andrew.  :)
13. it was on amazon lightning deals for 499 a few months ago. Wish I had the money/confidence to jump on it then :/
14. Sharp "computerized" optics may not be the best for cinema, but as a working camera-person a good range of "Sterile" glass like the L series is needed. But you're absolutely right that it shouldn't always be the go-to option, especially in the creative field.
15. This will likely cause problems with obtaining infinity focus, depending on your specific adapters. Might work, but if you need them for anything important I would just get the adapters.
16. This makes much more sense (along with some extra googling about field of view.) Thankyou.
17. Yes. this is basic knowledge. But what I want to know is scientifically, why does a smaller sensor equate to crop factors?
18. but why do smaller sensors = crop factors?
19. None of that was what I was looking for, sorry  :P I am fully aware of all of that but I wanted to know WHY, scientifically speaking.
20. still not sure that everything you pointed to is aliasing.. And no, the file you linked is still 720p. Please check and make sure you don't have scaling turned on by accident.
21. also, what does 'full frame' Really mean?? Is the gh2 not a full frame 4/3ds sized sensor? Why does the crop factor occur on a gh2/7d? Is there any type of accessory you could mount on the front of a lens, or between the lens and the body, to negate the crop factor? like an anamorphic lens?
22. Didnt really notice the aliasing but i wasnt looking for it really hard. also that is still 720p, not 1080
