I would use the 5D mk3, now looking for a good price. With Sony, my battery died last thursday on a paid gig, switched to a new battery but lost a must-have shot. Also I don't like the colors, I don't like the buttons which make you change too easily the aperture or shutter speed (back and front dial).
    With a 5D mk3 and a 35mm f2 IS, I'm happy
The only problem with the 5d is the workflow. I remember having to convert all the files and taking so much space, which slows down your creativity. Now apparently there are new tools so you don't have to convert anymore.

The PIX could be very nice if you want the best sound with this add-on http://www.newsshooter.com/2016/03/15/video-devices-pix-lr-audio-interface-adds-xlr-inputsoutputs-to-the-pix-e-series/
Basically it makes it a Sound Devices recorder, an industry standard in filmmaking. Those start at $3k while you can get a PIX-E5 for $1k (the HDMI version) and the PIX-LR for $500
It also seems much more durable than any other monitor/recorder out there

While there is a real rendering difference between the Sigma and Nikkor, there's a lack of logic in the conclusions. The difference in rendering could be due to the low lens count, or maybe the coatings or lens curvature changed between the designs. There are multiple factors and # of lens counts just a coincidence.
This is like observing birds migrating in the south during seasons and then concluding that the birds bring with them the heat.

I really like those quick shots Volker
What's interesting for RAW is that it's also possible to use other grading tools such as Lightroom. It opens up a lot of possibilities. There are lots of looks out there (Fuji Astia, Velvia, Kodak portra etc.) that were made for still cameras and you can then export as LUTs in Resolve

For the UK, you can add filters in your lights to have a diffuse, gold orange look (see https://youtu.be/7l6FjphZXsk?t=288 ). You can also use the same filter indoors
For Interstellar, this is good color correction plus a little bit of subtle make-up.

These days working with ML raw is a breeze. Reqired CF cards are much cheaper than a year ago. I have 5d3 and love working with raw. I have bought 2 sandisks 128gb 160mb/s and they NEVER gave me dropped frames. Never unexpected recording stop. NEVER. It is very reliable. 128gb last for about 25min 24/25p 1080p.
    My workflow now is:
-put CF card to the reader - 2 seconds
-use  an app called MLVFS which "mounts" the files from the card and makes them virtual CDNGs - 128gb take maybe about 30 seconds
-open resolve 12 and import files - 30 seconds
Color correct, cut, do everything and export  - there is NO need for any conversions at all.
Thats it. There is some nice app, all-in-one solutions in the making right now  - called MLVProducer.
On shoot i had 4 CF cards and nextodi 2730 with 2TB HDD onboard. Archiving 128gb takes about 25min. Then i can take HDD out, plug it to the PC via sata cable and work straight from it. Memory is getting cheaper very fast. Instead of investing 2-3 thousands $ into new camera (and cry about 8bit etc) i rather buy 8 new sandisk cards for 1300$ and have 200 minutes available without a need of copying it on set.

    wow that's a lot. My wish-list:
better dynamic range less moiré focus peaking if possible, image stabilization similar to Olympus EM1 better electronic viewfinder (doesn't smudge when you move your eye sideways)
