1. Of the Zeiss glass, the 25mm was a rare mediocre lens but to be honest for the price on eBay it is great. I really am not that convinced about using expensive full frame wide angle glass solely on the GH2. It can only be truly useful for those who have full frame (or plan to buy one in the future) and a crop sensor camera like the GH2. If you only plan to use your lenses on the GH2, the Leica/Voigtlander will be just as good, and more compact. PS, Sara... I'll let you in on a secret. Panasonic provide 90% of the Aspherical elements in worldwide lens production  8)
 2.
Sexy! Wonder how it would hold up against the Panaleica 25mm, optically. I'd much rather go for this along with an adapter.
Not really an apples to apples comparison here. The Leica is for a crop sensor, the Samyang is for full frame. If you plan to use it only on the GH2 there are better alternatives around, like that Leica Lumix and the Voigtlander Nokton 25mm F0.95 Only on full frame is the 'fast wide' look with this lens doable, and that makes it worth buying - as a true wide angle, not as a portrait equivalent on the GH2.
 3.
Looks like an interesting lens. However the Sigma 24mm F1.8 sells for £429, is also full-frame compatible, and gets you AF if you want it, with only a slightly slower maximum aperture. I have one and it's a nice lens.
I have that as well, it is very good for the money. Often they can be picked up around £250 second hand as well. Bargain. It will be interesting to compare the two. The sharpness of Samyang's 35mm F1.4 was astounding wide open. The Sigma is pretty soft in comparison.
 4. It would be more future proof if you plan to buy a Nikon. Canon lens to Nikon doesn't go but the other way round does. On mirrorless, both will work.

 6. Not more than $100 each, since they are designed for projection not image taking. Bulky, hard to mount and with huge minimum focus distances!

 8. Resolution and aliasing is terrible, at least on the YouTube stream at 1080p. Not looking good!!
 9. Congratulations to Danfung Dennis (follow him on Twitter here) for the Oscar nomination of 5D Mk II shot Hell and Back Again. Let this be a reminder for anyone itching to upgrade your camera instead of investing in an idea, or just shooting... In the right hands a DSLR is good enough for the Oscars. 10. If it isn't just a photoshopped 1DX  ??? I'd go for 3:2, since 16:9 would make little sense for shooting stills especially in portrait orientation. The 1DX's 3:2 screen looks as wide, sometimes it is mistaken for 16:9 depending on the angle! (On a side note, if this is the new 5D I am gutted they haven't put an articulated screen on it like the 60D, 600D).

This comparison is just for fun. This is for informational purposes to show what the GH2 looks like with this particular scene, against a $10,000 digital cinema camera. I have set the video to stream in 1080p if you full screen it, but for best results download the original and play it back on the best display you have available.
Photographer Stephen Oachs ran into a Japanese man on Safari in Kenya testing two new lenses and two of Canon’s new DSLRs. One is of the likes we’ve not seen before. Read full article
13. The Samyang 14mm is extremely wide and with tons of distortion. It is almost a fish-eye on full frame. I'd avoid that and get the Sigma 20mm F1.8 instead if you want an affordable one. Otherwise see what is available in Nikon mount at the wide end. Some nice old AI-S stuff there.
 14. No the hack isn't yet fully ported to V1.1 yet. Wait for Vitaliy to finish it and for the first release.
 15.
Those who ordered the Metabones EOS E-Mount adapter are in for an unpleasant surprise. It doesn’t work with the Sony NEX 5N and 7. Read full article
16. The LOMOs have more contrast than the Helios, and flare is a bit more under control. They have a bit more character, but are more pricey. The Helios isn't great on a follow focus either - they breath a bit and mechanically some are a bit wobbly. The Jupiter 85mm F2 is a bargain lens for sub $150. Whilst Russian glass is certainly good value and has a certain 'x-factor' about it, Olympus OM and Canon FD are also capable of a very cinematic image and work better with a follow focus.

 18.
Hi, I'm just curious about hacking the new firmware v1.1. No body is talking about it. Like its forbidde!! Many pros was desperately needed 25p before 1.1 . But as a pro I need 25p in higher bitrates like 88mbps and high iso like 6400 or 12800. Whats your opinion will it be possible?? Cheers
Vitaliy is working on it dude. It isn't a forbidden topic but there isn't very much new to say until it Vitaliy gets his work done.
 19. What is it?  :) I wasn't around in the film days  ???
 20. Some nice shots in there Sara  :) Amazingly detailed and clean for ISO 3200 and 6400 isn't it? How do you like the 20mm pancake?

 22. It doesn't do anything for 720p or 1080i so I recommend to use it in 1080/24p cinema mode. Maximum clip length on highly detailed scenes will be around 1.5 minutes, then you'll need to hit record again. The higher the quality of video the faster you will reach the 4GB file size limit of the SD card standard.
 23. The Olympus is double the price of the Hyperprime. Of course, since it is 2x more expensive, obviously it is a more advanced lens - silently focussing, AF, very small, very light, very sharp, hardly any flare. It is a bit more clinical than the SLR Magic though. I like both. The SLR Magic is recommended for those who can't afford or justify the expense of the Olympus 12mm. I usually use my Hyperprime at F2 anyway, since the flare is c*r*a*z*y at F1.6 - sometimes, actually, I like it but many won't feel that way!
