The NEX 5N is a tiny camera but it starts to really look the part when you add a chunky lens and monitor. The only problem is how do you mount a large lens to a small camera without damaging the mount, and how do you mount a monitor without a hotshoe or a rig?
I haven’t seen very many documentaries, TV shows or news reportage shot with anamorphic lenses. Some of this work of course isn’t suited to a cinema aesthetic – but some projects would really benefit from it. I have assembled a quick to use anamorphic ENG rig for handheld footage.
The WOC guys and Jared Abrams are at Cine Gear 2011, and they snagged Steve Weiss of Zacuto. He’s rigged up the Panasonic GH2 in a Guerilla Filmmaking rig. Watch the video above. Looks great!
