Hi everyone

Im interested to start shooting with anamorphic lens mainly for experimenting or for clients that are willing to work with its limitation

just saw this lens on ebay http://www.ebay.ca/itm/ISCO-Optic-Anamorphic-SLR-Lens-Attachment-w-tripod-mount-/111599270467?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item19fbd5ba43

i can't find much info on it whats the flare, sharpness, are like and if its worth buying

i work with a 5d and it seems like a nice fit for my samyang 85mm

so if anyone could help it would be great

thanks

EOSHD Pro Color 5 for Sony cameras EOSHD Z LOG for Nikon CamerasEOSHD C-LOG and Film Profiles for All Canon DSLRs

I own one as my first anamorphic lens and still keep it.  This lens work with 100mm or above on FF, it weighs 1.2kg.  The Minimum focusing distance is 5m/17ft.  But optics is excellent, even better than any other project lens due to big lenses, IMO, not much flare as other ISCO integrated lens.

Why not look into the Isco Ultra-stars, much smaller and light weight. Cost a bit more, but definitely worth it. I've seen many go for under $350. I have one myself, and it focuses from 3ft to infinity, but doesn't have strong flares due to it being an MC version.

I think you mean integrated lens.  But this is High Definition lens, if don't mind the weight, it has the best optics in projector lenses.  I can post some pics if possible.

I head one of the Isco Ultra-stars red one it was to sharp for my taste  no matter what i do in post from color correcting to adding grain and effects i would made the footage to amaturish with all the effects to get film fell but then if i don't then it looks like video. It is sharp like hell. That is why i bought Bausch & Lomb Anamorphic love the lens but focus distance for me was big deal now i have kowa for bell and howell and this lens is amazing the look the fell the size and will take my primes from 35mm to 135mm no problems and i can focus down to 3ft which is super awesome for me

Thanks everyone for your responses

trying to get my head around this but seems maybe i should spend a bit more for something that flares and can focus closer

because 13-15 feet seems like to much would like to be able to shoot inside and having to go out at -30 each time i want to shoot anamorphic

enny im in montreal quebec nice footage looks great do you have footage shot with your baush&lomb

i seen some footage of the slr magic anamorphic 2x https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MQlGon21C-I what you guys think ?

the kowa 16h looks like it flares good you can even see some reflexion inside the barrel but i dont know if it can shoot short distance

thanks Seb

Looks wider than 16h, basically looks ok, except distortion.
