How about the lack of a gh3 hack / poor Panasonic firmware support? Gh3 still lacks focus peaking. The wireless setup is a nightmare etc. Panasonic seems to be great at adding & implementing hardware features but sorely lacking in the software department.

Panasonic pack in the firmware features like no other. Peaking needs hardware support on the chipset. It isn't possible on the GH3 to add it with a firmware update. You can still get peaking on the GH3 via HDMI by using a monitor which supports peaking.

As for a GH3 hack, I'm glad Kiselev has not risen to the challenge this time. He can stay in his weird anti-West kingdom on his forum and build his community. Just so long as I never ever have to deal with him again.

Andrew, thanks for all your work this year, and the fashion you run this site, compared to some others ;)

I wouldn't have thought some simple contrast overlay would be impossible to implement in firmware but I am certainly not an engineer in that area :) well, maybe they could open up the bitrates more even though they ate already industry-leading. Too bad we don't have a magic lantern equivalent.. There has been no progress on Nex or GH3, so the current unofficial "support" is iffy at best..

I do have an external monitor but partly why I chose m43 was to have a more compact setup, especially when used for taking pictures.

Dear NIKON, you have lost me. This is especially true as I have just fallen in love with video. Other reasons too numerous to list.

Dear Canon, now that I'm in love with video, if you kill or block magic lantern, I will not consider.

Dear Fuji, with your amazing handling, sensor and lenses, please unlock full manual control in video. Also a better video code please. Raw on Fuji X-trans, hhmmmnummm Oooh yeah.
