I'd be lying if I said this looks anything less than great.
the thing is that you can find great footage with barely any camera

xpro 3 should be an xt3 with ibis ? maybe some 6k ?
looks like fuji is the brand to follow now. i was disapointed with the S1h, looking forward to see what's gonna be the xpro 3

@thephoenix would love to see the shortfilm! Great image. Makes me curious. How do you like the Tokina? Is it working well enough at 3.5? How do you like the XT3?
i'am done with shooting so will start post production in a few days, next week i hope but i have another projet to finish first.
tokina is great to shoot with, image quality i don't really know yet as it was my first filming with it. the image you saw is full aperture.
the short was filmed with the tokina and also the canon 28mm 2.8is, will see how different they are.
xt3 is a fantastic camera, so many features for such a fair price.

This all hinges on weather Apple can shoot down RED's internal raw patent. Even Sony had to surrender on the F5, F55 and FS7 as they legally HAD to make an "external" Sony box to do their compressed raw format. I mean, Sony has already explored this RED patent from a legal perspective.
well if it ever happens it will take years before they come to a judgment so i wouldn't count on it in the next 2 years.
raw with the ninja v is great but i am not that sure resolve will handle it it would be a bummer for panasonic
-
i would love open gate and external raw
anyone using a water housing for the xt3 ?

Your complaint/comparison makes no sense. Not allowing manual control in HFR is reasonable market segmentation
Seriously ? For a 4k camera clearly meant for pros
You gotta be joking

Unless Panasonic's Headquarters is all of a sudden Studio 111 in Hamburg then you're wrong.
And although both places begin with an H, Hamburg is not Hawaii. It's a 2 hour train ride from Berlin where I am visiting my girlfriend.
The original plan was to go to L.A which would have pissed you off even more. But I chose to spend time with my girlfriend instead.
For me this was like visiting a camera shop, and I don't do that unless the camera is worth a visit.
If those specs are disappointing in your world you must be an insufferable fucking brat. Disappointing compared to what? Did a RED 8K handout land on your doorstep or something? Did your $4k go towards a stolen Alexa off the back of a van?
Some people have been reading EOSHD for longer than 5 minutes and actually realise how far I've gone out of my way to keep the PR influence over this blog as low as possible, and I'll point you to all those adverts I don't have.... Anywhere.
No sponsors, no paid ads, no content paid for and no shoots 'embellished' with Hawaiian scenery or Canon topless models.
But yeah, I'll take your word for it... The image is spectacular but the specs disappointing. The 5m dot EVF and 5 axis IBIS are top notch but the specs still disappointing. The tilting screen is a great evolution but still your disappointment overwhelms you. Maybe you are better off using that "real cinema camera instead", you know, the one with the "proper ergonomics", that shoots 6K full frame for $4000, with a built in ND, a 5 million dot EVF and IBIS.
?
Well Maybe he was à bit harsh about the travel thing but i can only agree with him saying you lack objectivity when It comes to panasonic recent products.
Criticising canon for no 24p but no control of hfr is fine for you, not a single word about It. Nothing about the fact that it only goes 6k in one frame rate and to me it looks like more of an 4k+ camera. Same with the blue light issue, not a word. Well...
Same about the s1 saying image is the best you've seen. King of the hill, well i find It real good but not that good, especially on the footage you showed.
I feel frustrated by your review i must admit and i guess he felt the same.

Looks like it was Atlas Orion anamorphics.
for a few shots, most of it is non anamorphic lense

Actually if you count the 200 euro vlog update, this camera is about 1200 euro more than the S1, but if offer a lot more. By the way, I just checked cvp store and there is an offer with the XLR audio module included for free
sure but not fan of the S1 either. good camera for sure but there are flaws that would keep me away from putting money in it like not beeing able to control slow mo settings.

It's listed at 4000 euro or about 3300 without vat, body only
better than 5k then but still pricey for what it is to me. guess it will price down in a few

Don’t you have to do exactly that with the micro? At least the FP has a screen.
sure. but i don't call it ultra compact either

Kinda sucks that they use SD instead of Cfast though.
pricewise i wouldn't regret that
-
oh, i thought this thred was about the Blackmagic Micro Cinema
personnaly i don't call it ultra compact when you have to add a monitor and accesories to shoot. but maybe the fp will have it's place here but so far no real footage so nothing to compare with.
-
guys you're going a bit off topic
and talking about the fp, the more i read about it the more i think you will be disappointed, but it is another subject...
-
well i am not thrilled
6k is only in 24p so to me it's not really a 6k camera when you can only record one fps. 6k is also only long gop and not all-i
ok it can go 30 in 5.9k but i wish it could go at least 50fps in 6k to call it a real 6k camera, 60fps would be great.
what about the slow mo ? can we finaly choose the settings ?
ibis is great that's for sure but for this price (4k$ body only in the usa so almot 5k in € probably) i would say no and stick with my xt3 as to me it's too much of a pain in the but to swith resolution all the time when i want to shoot at differents frame rates.
i would call it a 4k+ camera

-
ok thanks. will look into it

xt3, windows 7
just wanna check i exposed correctly my footages, i am dealing with high contrasts so just prefer to be sure as i still can reshoote some
-
tried to install dvr 15 nut no more luck.
anyone knows a light soft for pc where i can check my exposure ?
i could grad a still and open in photoshop but i do'nt think it will be acurate

well i don't share that opinion. it has great features for sure but for that price range i guess the competitors will do as good if not better any soon.
to me it lacks the fact of beeing able to choose your settings in hfr and more 6k fps.
as now it looks like a porsche with a 500 horses power engine but only 2 gears, what's the point ??
ff is cool but in my opinion not a must have when it comes to video, aps-c is great so far.
