How about a RasPi challenge? Build, then film something with it.

Jared Polin doesn't get it - EOS R5 overheating
Video Hummus replied to Andrew Reid's topic in Cameras
You don’t see them because Jared isn’t, from what I can tell, interested in educating peopling about photographic choice it has more to do about money and who pays the advertising dollars. Jared made that video to make money and stir the controversy soup before he spat out another video about the topic. I mean its a full time job making content about the same damn shit Over and over again...because at the end of the day they are all scared a glitch in the YouTube master system will erase their controversy peddling business overnight. I have no problem with them making videos and making money. It’s when they pander to their corporate overlords, in constant fear their mouths will be ripped from the marketing teet, with the pretense that they are “educating” their viewers. No, they are just advertising middlemen. -
Canon EOS R5 overheating vs Panasonic S1H and Sigma Fp designs
Video Hummus replied to Andrew Reid's topic in Cameras
This is the single biggest contributing factor to why the EOS R5/6 are the way they are. It doesn’t take a genius to figure out how to put a heat sink in. They could have had an exposed heat sink system on the back. To increase recording times maybe the compromise would be to have the screen flipped out. I get that they didn’t want to put a fan because they wanted to keep the ethos of the R5 the way it is. They still could have done a lot to make video work better for the specs they put in there. They decided not too. And we all know why. -
Adblock Just as good

There are something like 6 free Hasselblad film cameras on the moon for the taking.

I like how everyone just refers to him as toneh now. Does that count as cyberbullying?

Trying to sneak them into every post are you now?

Canon EOS R5 has serious overheating issues – in both 4K and 8K
Video Hummus replied to Andrew Reid's topic in Cameras
Yes, its done in camera. Yep, pieces starting to fall into place. When I heard they were planning a firmware with clog3 and lower bitrates my fears about possibly buying this camera went down a bit. If the rolling shutter is good in the 4K pixel-binned modes for unlimited recording then its positives outweighs the negatives for me and my usage. All the negatives suck for sure, but giving the performance of the IBIS, possible DR improvements with Clog3, 4K120p, 10-bit 4:2:2 all around in a canon camera with canon AF and colors...my wallet is the one catching fire at this point. Still going to hold out and see what others are going. Possible two extra stops DR latitude (clog3 caps out at 14 stops; clog is capped at 12). If the R5 could get close to 13 with clog3 then it will be a very nice camera indeed. -
I hear the 8K footage is still importing...my be awhile 😎

I would be highly surprised to see any new MFT mount cameras from BM. I honestly think they are going to do S35 and FF moving forward. Just a hunch.

I’ve kinda written off Nikon but I was looking at the Z50 and rumors on the Z6S. As a whole, that little Z50 with the Z DX lens looks super compact. Video quality is decent. I’m still leaning Canon for FF. Sony is uninspiring. Anyrhing from blackmagic has a nice image lately but their bodies are not for me.

Jared Polin doesn't get it - EOS R5 overheating

This is the dance product channels are forced to do less they get boycotted by company marketing departments. Jared looked real pretty twirling for Canon in that video but the stench you're smelling doesn't lie. Pretty lazy video no doubt to be followed up by an even lazier video: "Canon confirms Overheating"...another 160K views. -

For my needs the R5 might be the FF camera for me. Going to wait to see what the A7SIII and GH6 brings. Maybe the R5 will get a price drop by end of year but I doubt it. That or I will just get the GH6 and wait for prices to come down before I get a FF. -

Might squeak out some more DR with Clog3. Do we know what mode this was shot in? -

It’s crazy. Profiting off giving choice to users who really want it. Crazy idea. Canon is really controlling the narrative around this launch. They give the camera to reviewers and then they tell them you can’t talk about RS or anything like they until they release the camera! Meanwhile people preordering with a sense of naivety around it all. -

I applaud your optimism! YouTube is built to punish meaningful 10+ minute videos at the moment. -
I hear 2021 might be our year!...maybe.

Since Mr. Nuemann started off with a Softball question to warm things up. @Andrew Reid, having run EOSHD solo for so many years where you have routinely written about your frustrations over and over again about the same persistence and repeated short comings of every brands cameras, would you consider yourself a masochist? If not, what kind of mental health problem would you say you have?
-
Highly likely. Fair warning, don’t go into the comments section unless you really want to live first hand the scene in Star Wars where they fall into the garbage compactor. Taking a shower now. Gems like “The slow drip of rumors of the A7SIII is actually pp on canon”. You’ve been warned.

Okay, 15 stops dynamic range minus 1 to 1.5 stops for the bullshit factor. So roughly 13.5 to 14 real stops. 16 Bit raw photos or is that RAW video via HDMI? 600Mbps sounds logical considering the 720Mbps max for V90 UHS-II cards. So basically a FX-9 in a A7 body? Wheres the catch?

So anybody going to Iceland for the holidays no problem! There is fine print in the manual. You have to look close when reading it. ”Unlimited 8K RAW recording up to 30p* * when used above or below the Arctic and Antarctic circles respectively.** **except where there is global warming.”
