  1. I cant remember; I thought it was in a 4k timeline, but they could have mentioned 1080, or shown that as the current resolution. I have only been able to find a few videos on the nikon's, kind of odd. Please post more if you guys find any that were not shared already in the nikon Zeee(not zed) thread
  2. I dont know if I can quite process what has happened here. The owner of a site called eoshd, had to ban someone for trolling too hard in favor of canon ?. Please make a black mirror short pertaining to this haha.
  3. I did see it in the dpreview test with the bike. I havent seen it in a test for rolling shutter yet. What is weird; I saw almost no rolling shutter when they were whipping around in Devin supertramps eos r video, it looked like a pro grade, but tons of banding. I also thought that was odd, it was using 10 bit out on atmos. He mentioned in a comment that a few scenes were in 1080p 60p, so maybe the fast cuts were in some form of 1080p idk.
  4. No, I think we should just no longer reply to him. On the other hand, it will be quite obvious when he makes new accounts ?. Ip ban it is
  5. Have you ever made a single post where you are not an argumentative, negative jackass? Because I have seen you on every page of every thread, trying your best to irritate anyone and everyone, while contributing nothing. You obviously have some sort of problem. I will no longer validate anything you say in the future. Someone else can fuel your irrationality if they please.
  6. Wrong on your first 3/5 responses mr troll. Go watch some sony videos and you can see the background jump in & out of focus very fast sometimes. Not conventional focus breathing where it hunts (which I see too). I used the box for the focus point while on a gimbal. So many videos showcasing how bad the 120p looks on sony. It is soft, full of artifacts, lacks color depth and jitters from lower than needed bit rate. I thought you had to go be a canon apologist somewhere about now? Lol
  7. Hey, by that time Canon will have a proper FF mirrorless haha
  8. That and the variable ND adapter, but none for using the new mirrorless lenses lol..
  9. I haven't spent countless hours researching the camera, I just see everyone says its a flop and Nikon failed. What I have gathered from quick secondary research is: No eye af (don't care) Single card slot Potentially low battery life. Could be high rolling shutter in 4k Questionable low light AF performance Is that it? Seems like it trades eye af and less battery for 10 bit out over the a7iii. I did see early reports of the ibis not working perfect, but I don't know if that was because it had an adapter on. Also the whole doesn't focus well in low light thing from the northrups. The biggest thing that prevents me from wanting one is: Hate their announced lens lineup. A full 2 years of only f/1.8 primes (minus the 50mm 1.2 in 2-3 years?) I like shooting with a 35mm 1.4/85mm 1.4 most of the time. Don't want to buy their old dslr glass, plus hate that huge ugly adapter that apparently makes IS and AF not work well. Rolling shutter Possibly bad video AF performance outside of bright sunlight I have really wanted to get the a7iii, but these things bother me too much: Still has randomly performing AF (Focus breathing, jittery, not smooth). Experienced Sony pros have stated that it does great with face tracking AF, but can struggle with inanimate objects (not tracking, just gimbal etc). I really hated using the a6500 on a gimbal, because it would drop focus about 30% of the time following someone. Sounds like this does the same thing from what I found on reviews, regardless of the perfect af settings. 120p FHD looks extremely soft and mushy details with artifacts. It also is jittery, probably due to the need of an increased bit rate. Not a fan of their colors and in 8 bit, it can be difficult to fix in some situations. Sensor dust is on tons of sony videos and that would kill it for me. I am glad to see canon addressed this problem, but in a bad camera... Weather sealing; I don't plan on dropping it, but I do video work for companies in the snow. Snowmobiling/ski resorts. The lenses are good from sony, but dang.. I want another 70-200 2.8 and I can literally get it for (new) $1,000 cheaper going with canon than sony (or nikon). My needs include pro grade photos and dslr/mirrorless video on each project. I currently do have the 1dx ii; it is an awesome camera, but I really am getting sick of canons crap. I want a camera I can take on a trip that will not draw everyone's attention from a 100 yard radius. There have been times where I had people stalk me and cops called for shooting video on a gimbal with a mic. Having a lightweight, high quality setup on a gimbal would be nice. I think mine gets to around 10 lbs with everything. After shooting for 8 hours a day, it can get annoying. I have sold all but my 16-35mm 2.8, 85mm 1.2 and 35mm 1.4, so I am not extremely tied down. I do feel held a little hostage by their dpaf and colors (sometimes). I guess I can wait for them to release their pro mirrorless, but I swear that will take another 6+ months. Side note: I saw that SYRP YT channels vid on the eos r and around the 3:20 mark, the 720p 120p actually looks a little better than most sony 1080p at 120p i've seen, how is that possible? There was some moir on the building though I think. It is frustrating that there is no clear choice (thank you canon for the eos r). Hopefully the panasonic ff will be good; I doubt it will fill the photo needs, but I could always pair it with an a7iii or something.
  10. Since it has a new processor, do you think they can supersample the 4k instead of crop it? Some speculated that it would overheat, but hey, then it would be a Sony with native canon glass ?
  11. I was upset, along with many, but deep down knew this would happen. I am beginning to realize though, that Andrew is probably the most upset by this lol. Maybe it's time to change the site name? I'll throw in a few bucks for a new domain name.
  12. I bet the FF Panasonic will do something crazy like 12 bit raw out lol
  13. Anyone else see the official canon video stating that the RF line will not end up replacing the EF, but just another choice? They obviously left out the dual card slot to prevent it from being a pro still choice and enraging current 5d iv owners. I really want to just go Sony or Nikon, but im not going to buy old nikon dslr glass to adapt, or wait 3 years for them to make faster mirrorless primes. Sony has everything on paper, but that af still isn't good enough in video (breathing, problems with inanimate objects etc.), colors and terrible looking 120p fhd.
  14. The 720p 120p actually looks about as good as the sony 1080p 120p. I haven't seen any a7iii 120p that looked clear and smooth. I wonder if that is moire on the building in the background though (building). Does anyone know if the 5d iv had bad rolling shutter in 1080p? I have tested the 1dx ii and it has virtually none in 1080p.
  15. At least they have the shutter come down and lock when you change the lens
  16. In 4k, I bet it will break 2x crop factor lol
  17. If the A7siii has a 20mp + sensor so it can take good stills, it will get interesting. That camera wont be in the same price range though.
  18. I wonder if they will make an RF-RF adapter with the ND filter slot.
  19. I know.. even if they just had either: no crop, ibis or 120p FHD this camera would rip
  20. They have to be nuts asking literally double for the new 50mm 1.2. The first one dropped for $1,599. It is also a full pound heavier; they should have just updated it like everyone wanted and sold it for 2k or less. Who is actually going to buy that for 3k?? Does anyone know the dynamic range for stills/video? I would be shocked if it was higher than the 5d iv
  21. I still cannot believe they didn't release a ff mirrorless with 120p fhd, no-low crop 4k. The ibis would be nice, but not necessary. Pretty funny that only their 2 year old sports camera can do 120p in what will be 2019... I wish they had released their high end model first, like they usually do. They mentioned at the start of the stream that more r bodies are coming, but I bet it will be 6+ months before we hear about the pro versions.
  22. If you already have a bunch of Canon glass, it will be an awesome stills camera, unless you need faster than 5fps. I think some people are missing the point on it; it is lacking many features that all the other big manufactures are including in the same price range. You don't need eye af or ibis to take great pictures, I just think its funny that Canon will exclude them (they have the tech), because they know people will buy it anyway. That is my entire point really. If Canon prices it lower than the A7iii and the Z6, I think that would be a good strategy with a fair price. Then later release a more professional model. We can only speculate at the moment, in a few days we will have a much clearer picture. I am excited for the new lenses, but I do wonder why the new RF 50mm 1.2 weighs almost a pound heavier than the EF version?
  23. A 1.3x crop isn't exactly severe. Log doesn't matter that much on 8 bit, it will be great on 10 bit though. Yes, we get it, you are a Canon apologist.
  24. Has anyone noticed the large amounts of banding against a lighter background? I wonder if that was using the internal 8-bit 4:2:0, because I see some footage that looks awesome.
