I would guess that he actually says the words on set, then they have the voice actor do the final thing in a studio. I haven't looked into it, but it sounds modified by software some. 

UPDATE: I found this video from the creators (5:13), it says he did do it with the mask, then they had to make it understandable in post production.

Absolutely wrong. World famous Pro landscape photographers like C Burkard and Max Rive use Sony and Nikon and do not do luminosity mask AT ALL. I have done bracketing and luminosity masks and it sucks time processing wise. You only need to do them with Canon in fact.  
Saying that "if you do pro landscape work you focus stack and bracket" is a proof that you know nothing about pro landscape photography. Most Pros don't have the time in post to do that kind of shit. 

Thanks. Overexposed? I shoot 95% of my pictures in aperture mode with exposure dial at -0.7 to benefit from shadow recovery that is always better than highlight recovery. Sorry this does not work with Canon as shadow recovery is not in their vocabulary. I do not think my pictures are over exposed. 
Totally agree about the D850 even though the A7RIII is almost as good. Agree with Fuji but their UWA offer sucks, and the price is a different league, not speaking about video.

As far as video is concerned, it's worst than the DR debate.

I actually get what Canon did now. They did the classic average looking person next to unattractive person tactic with the eos r & rp. 

Someone commented about the new small RF 70-200 2.8 and said what we all expect, that it will extend. Jared Polin commented and said "that lens will not become longer when zooming. They are always internal zooming." He has supposedly picked up the new rf 70-200 2.8, mentioned that he went to pick up the 70-300 and realized it wasn't the new 70-200. The new 70-200 was smaller.

I think what this proves is that Canon does not see low budget video users as a target audience at this price point.

With that being said, I’m sure it will be a nice camera but they just saved me $600 because if I want Canon 4K or 1080p DPAF, I may as well just get an M50... 1.6x crop 4K crop on the RP or 2.5x crop on the M50’s... whatever. At least I can shoot 1080p at 24p on the M50.

At 10:00 in the video I linked, he says and shows it only has 30/60p... Canon really wants us to leave. I can hear them now "GTFO video shooters! Buy our 1DX ii, cinema cameras or get lost!"

Canon EOS Really Pathetic big takeaways:

• Only 30/60p recording frame rates in 1080p
• High rolling shutter cropped 4k
• No DPAF in 4k
• IPB low bitrate codecs 
• Tiny battery dies fast in video
• Terrible Photo/Video DR according to reviewers (already knew this. 6D ii sensor)
• No CLOG
• Focus in 1080p kept losing focus in talking head videos i've seen 

Oh yeah, another thing that seems to be a let down, could actually be a positive: 

The awesome new glass we were expecting to roll out soon, wont be releasing until sometime in the second half of 2019. I would guess fall, with a pro body. That would actually make some sense. 

That is freaking hilarious that there is no DPAF in 4k.

I see that Canon has learned, they disabled comments on their YT vid this time around for the RP body launch.

I have had FF Canons Nikons Sonys. The real life usable DR difference between Canon bodies and Sony/Nikon is INSANE for landscape work. Night and day. 

This camera is another epic joke from Canon that performs less than crop bodies in every single way but lowlight performance. When they decide to release a body that has similar specs from other cameras released this decade, I will be the first to buy one. I have 0 brand loyalty. Just shooting loud what we should not accept which is a lot in the today’s Photography market owned by a couple of old-fashion Japanese.

This is a video centric forum, but I have 15k followers on IG for photos with 2,500 likes per pic & barely post; what is your social proving that you make anything worth a ??  I posted a thread showing the a7riii having much worse shadow recovery than the 1dx ii(sweet chroma noise on sony ?), I was genuinely surprised, as I had been considering an a7riii for landscapes.

I have never needed more than 4 stops recovery, ever. If you do professional landscape work, you will focus stack and bracket with luminosity masks. Pros bracket, that will allow you to get 32 bit HDR photos with 10 stops of exposure recovery in Camera Raw/LR, instead of 5 with your sony single shot (which looks bad at 5, especially over iso 100).

Update: I saw your IG, cool photos, but it looks like many are very overexposed and there wasn't enough highlight recovery? Also, I had said that I thought this new canon camera had terrible DR, so I don't know why you want to argue with me when I agreed hahaha. Just a reminder, you are on a URL called EOSHD and in a canon thread.

BTW, the Nikon D850 is the best FF single shot landscape camera, not anything from sony. I would take the Fuji medium format cameras for landscape if that is what I did everyday, they are incredible.

One time I got to class early on test day and stapled all of the exams to the ceiling. Another time I changed the dry erase markers with permanent markers I took from the art room. When I was around 10, I mixed jb weld and put it under my teachers desk when they went to the bathroom. I have hundreds of stories from my "busy" years as they called it; many I can't talk about or I would be financially responsible to this day. I never got kicked out because I had good grades and the superintendent was my neighbor lol, good ol' boy rules.

Well have a look at the A6400. You get the same crop, even better autofocus, smaller and lighter body and for much less money. And  well you know, with lenses you CAN actually buy. 

As far as still capabilities, this 6D2 sensor should not even exist. I am just gonna post the attached and say no word.

Bullcrap the AF is better than DPAF for video, still drops it like it's hot. Some people like pulsing things (for pleasure?) but I prefer my AF not to ever do it. 

For the record; I also think the 6d ii photo DR is unacceptable trash. 

The thing is; most content is consumed on social media formats now (IG, FB, YT) & on mobile devices. The expected quality is lower than what it was years ago. I think photos on IG are only around 1-3mp and taken on 45mp cameras ?

If you put the sony lens next to the canon & people ask you what they mean; you can combine them for one acronym: STF DS aka, Shut The F%$#UP Dip Sh!$

Is F%$#UP one word? My middle school teachers called me that, now I make more than them.

The camera is a crop top from the EOS R, maybe 30% less cranium. 

Seriously: Should be around 1.64x crop in 4k I would guess based on the 15% difference. 

IMO, cell phones will produce 99% of the content online in 6 years, outside of big productions. The rolling shutter will be fixed by the increase in processing power & phones are coming with multiple lenses attached. HDR video (50p split into two captures a second (over & under exposed) and combined/processed into 24p reaches insane DR. 2025 will consist of most content producers using a $2,000 cell phone, maybe even from RED. 

Companies are using "influencers" more & more over big productions to advertise their stuff.

That would be cool if true. Canon did say that it was a different sensor in the eos r from the 5d iv though on launch day. Then we later find out that it was actually the same sensor, just tweaked a little to work with the new digic 8 processor. I have a cynical attitude towards it being the same underlying sensor. 

What time is the presentation from Canon? US or UK time

Specs show a very low resolution LCD; I am not that confident that it will be a bright screen. I guess we will see. I am just fcking annoyed at canon for not at least recycling the 1dx ii sensor into a mirrorless body. They considered the eos r to be their pro body and the rp the entry.

Lets compare the one-two punches between the big 3. Sony: A7iii & A7Riii. Nikon: Z6 & Z7. Canon RP & R. Both the RP & R should be considered a joke compared to their competitions offering at the targeted segmentations. All of those other cameras have 120p, FF 4k, IBIS, LOG and much better DR. To argue otherwise is just being an apologist. 

I like Canon and all, but I really don't see why you would buy this small (cheap) camera over an a6500 for $300 less. If you are doing video, it is a dog in comparison. Just throw some fast inexpensive sigma glass on a sony & you'll have a great look. 120p 1080, 4k with log etc.; I bet the 'crop factor' will be similar between the cameras. 

For photos, who on earth wants that terrible 6d ii sensor. Color depth and DR is 10 years behind, wake up.
