I'm sorry but this is still not an accurate way of looking at this comparison. The two cameras you are comparing are receiving the exact same amount of light when the lens is wide open, whether it's read as a 2.8 on the Canon or 1.8 on the Panasonic. ISO's are normalized between sensor sizes (think Sunny-16 rule) so that exposures can be matched, but the amount of light hitting the sensor on your GH5 using the SBXL is exactly the same as is hitting the 1DXII. Think about it... How can there ever be more light coming through the lens than there is when it's set wide open to 2.8? Using the speedbooster just directs that light at a smaller sensor, but it's the same light that's hitting the bigger sensor. The GH5 is reading it as f/1.8, because it now is (a 15-45mm 1.8), but that doesn't mean that the camera is receiving more light, just that the exposure settings will be different - this due to the normalized ISO's I was talking about.

Thanks for posting! Not sure what you're getting at here... With the SBXL the crop factor is 1.28... So it's practically identical to the 1.3 4K from the 1DXII and therefore the light gathering would be exactly the same: With the adaptor you can think of it as putting a 15-45mm 1.8 on a M43 sensor or just think of it as putting the 24-70 2.8 on a sensor that's the same size as the 1DXII (APS-H in 4K). (The only thing you can't do is think of it as putting a 1.8 on an APS-H sensor.) No need to upload anything, it's just tweaking the camera settings on the Neutral PP:

You're right @noone - Clear Image is way different than just punching in. Sony actually has an algorithm that "looks" at what you're shooting and intelligently creates new pixels. It's one of my favorite features on the FS5. My primes are suddenly variable zooms that I can control with the zoom rocker.

It took me several tries to learn how to quickly match in Resolve. I do it for the likes *Hint hint.*

Why?? I'm not about downvotes, but this is something that I'd use one on. Just clutters the forum, especially since all you did was post a link that nobody else was asking for. I certainly wouldn't shoot with crushed blacks and blown out highlights, but it's up to you if you want to shoot log. In this case, I'd probably just shoot like you are and let Resolve match it. If that doesn't work well, move contrast all the way to the left on the Canon and on the Sony go to Cine 1, make saturation 0, and black level PLUS 15. In both cases match the Sony to the Canon, not other way around.

Another option is purchasing a color checker chart, shooting them both under the same light, and using DaVinci Resolve's color match feature. It's incredibly accurate, and you can export the change as a LUT to use in Final Cut or Premiere. Shooting like you are now is a good start and this will get you the rest of the way. If you're always shooting in the gym like that then you pretty much only have to do this once. The reason I believe them is that there are clearly two different cameras mounted on their prototype display EVOs: The top one is clearly bigger.

@IronFilm Shame on you for discussing other 1" drones on this 1" drone thread! Why do you find the Yuneec more appealing? It's the same price as a P4+ and only has a mile range. Am I missing something, ahem, yuneec about it?

For Americans (and apparently British, Australians, and New Zealand..ers) "under X" does not include the X. The phrase we'd use in that case is "X and under." So: "12,800 ISO and under" would be the more "native" way of saying it. @IronFilm How do you guys say the thing I couldn't say? I'm positive New Zealanders can't be right. Is it Middle-Earthers? At CES a rep said it's an "all new sensor," which got me excited... but finally found a video where a rep says 12MP stills so it's not looking like a 1" EDIT: Looks like there will be two sensor options!

If this has a 1" sensor and h.265 I'll buy it in a heartbeat, even considering my bad experience with Autel's X-Star premium. A folding P4 Pro? Yes please! Otherwise it's not worth the risk. Had the XStar and it lost contact constantly with the remote and initiated "return home" all the time. Ended up returning it after 3 weeks. The yaw was a big problem, too: impossible to make smooth panning motions.

Hold up there - EVA1 crops when shooting 200/240fps, and PL is only possible if you void your warranty and spend $500. ...So it doesn't officially meet your list of requirements. No one camera is going to meet the whole list, but I'd say look into: FS7(II) - heavy, but easily adaptable to EF and PL, and doesn't crop on 180fps. Mark II has the vari-ND which is incredible. C200 - raw and great DPAF. Touchscreen 4 inch viewfinder is great. There's no 10 bit h.264 codec option. EVA - the lightest and downsamples from 5.7K. (Personally, I think the slow motion is very mushy and has a lot of aliasing)

I'm going to go ahead and say it's less the sensor than the processor that's making people think this is a FF killer. Without benefit of noise reduction it's very clear the FF advantage over M43 that @mercer and I were pointing out. Not saying this isn't impressive, just think it's very unwise to purchase this camera on its low-light ability alone. Having said that, it's very clearly a step up from the non-S:
