My first 'experiment' with the Samsung and Bolex. I find it razor sharp but what a job to focus...The pancake lens is superb, but very thin. I have to practise to find the focus rings faster. Perhaps I will try an NX 45mm f1.8 lens. Question; how can you ad warp stabilizer? I do get failure, I do have to 'nest' warp stabilizer?

Take the time and be patient. But look daily or more often at Ebay. Check with Google if there are any new Elmoscopes or Kowa 16H/8Z lenses. Look at Japanese auctions for example. I did the same and bought recently (at Ebay) a Bolex 16/32 for half of the price you often see at Ebay. The time I spend looking was 2-3 months. Good luck!

I would recommend this but be aware that many zooms from this era does have a rotating front element which are not usable with anamorphics (It seems to exist 2 different version of the pentax zoom, one with and one without the rotating front filter). Might sound obvious, but just in case you haven't thought of that. (I know I did not :o )
As for the fixed length, I don't mind my anamorphic sliding on the support, but it's a good idea to find a fixed lens one
(And I guess you'll vignette from 35 to 40mm, but I'm not sure)

Best lens so far for me has been a Konica Hexanon 40mm f1.8 pancake. It's cheap but no joke, works wonders at f4.

Tonight I bought the Kowa Prominar 8Z. Actually more looking for the 1.5x version, but its unsure when and if it will pass Ebay. Now looking for a taking lens and clamps...Perhaps a Rokinon for Samsung 50mm,... or any other nice suggestions?

The Bolex is sold by now, I only have an one 2x ana for sale. 
The bolex was really nice, but there is no perfect lens, every lens has its down and upsides. The bolex had awesome IQ, sharp at f2, but was really bad at infinity focusing (had to stop down). I wasn't afraid to use it on a run & gun gig.
But like Caleb wrote with the UHD you can crop the image to your needs. If you're looking for a lens that is easy to work with (no rack focus) and it's sharp, you'll have to get some funds. If you just want to try it out, or do some artistic filming, where you have the time to set up everything, get a Prominar for 300 euros, or an ISCO which is pretty sharp, or a Sankor. 

I use NX1 with a Kowa 16-H/8Z. My personal opinion is that 2X looks by far the best. Otherwise, just shoot spherical, crop, and add some barrel distortion in post.
with the UHD capabilities of the NX1, cropping off the sides to get 2.35 or 2.66 is really no great loss. 
The Kowa is among THE best anamorphic glass, period. Full stop. Add a Rangefinder or Rectilux, and it also becomes a versatile and useable professional tool.

The Kowa BH is overpriced and in terms of sharpness, the prominars are better. Sankor is a great alternative as well.
I personally like the look of the 1.5x anamorphics. I own a 2x ana lens, but I'll pick a 1.33x & a 1.5x as well, get the right lens for the right job.
