Gordon Laing's short touch AF test, transition is not smooth here:

Also check the eye AF at 10:00 here, it seems to be much slower than the A7III:

Here really weird birds are running

There are "some" AF settings, maybe he should deal with that!
Unfortunately, there are too many testers the far too little experience with the Fuji cameras (x-t2, H1) of the X-T3 even more, and thus also much nonsense spread. Unfortunately!

Looking at the spec page I see a lot of problems with video, sadly:

    - 4K60 works for "approx 20min" (sounds like overheating limit to me, I absolutely need unlimited 4K60 recording like GH5)

    - 4K60 is cropped 1.18x

    - video files are split at 4GB (unusable for me, I don't want to be joining 4GB clips in a video editor before being able to upload the 4K60 footage to YouTube)

    - 10bit video internally is 4:2:0 only

    - HLG (HDR) not yet available (but they say will come by end of year firmware update, not sure if 4:2:0 follows HLG spec, I thought 4:2:2 had to be the HLG spec)

    - no IBIS is no good for video and photo (means a $1000 gimball is compulsory for shots off tripod, I never shoot on tripod)

    - battery life is way too short means Battery grip is compulsory but goes through 5+ batteries in 1 day of video shooting.

    - LCD is not very bright and does not flip to the side (which rules out a lot of types of video shooting, I don't want to buy a camera without a side flip display)

    - Lack of object tracking in autofocus is a very big bummer (although the much better face tracking AF than GH5 is great!)

    - It looks like it can't do advanced high profile H265 real-time encoding. Does the H265 options provide lower bitrates which is the promise of H265? What does it do in H264 and what does it do in H265 exactly and at which bitrates for each?

I want all frame rates and resolutions with H265 options at half the bitrate of H264 for the same quality. Is that not what it can do? Does it force you to use H265 for IPB? (without even saving a lot on the bitrate?)

Since NX1 of 5 years ago I am waiting for a camera to be able to do 4K in H265 properly to save up to half the bandwidth and storage and still be YouTube direct upload compatible at the same 4K quality. I want a camera that does 75mbit/s H265 at the same quality as 150mbit/s in H264. Or 100mbit/s in H265 at the same quality as 200mbit/s in H264. This might require a much "stronger" "more advanced" "more complex profile" real-time H265 encoding ability. If YouTube, Netflix and Amazon fit their 4K24 streams within 25mbit/s H265 (encoding using strong multi-pass high profile H265 encoders) then surely there is a camera that can fit 4K60 nicely in about 75mbit/s bitrate in H265 when encoding real-time in camera comparable in quality to what it would do in like the GH5 in 150mbit/s using H264. This may not quite be it, I certainly hope Sony gives us new H265 options in their next A7000 APS-C High End and A7Siii.

You're a provocateur ... and a little sick:) .... Buy yourself a real professional video camera that can do it all and not a camera for photos. Also, the X-T3 is a camera with a video function and not vice versa. You are a troll;)

  3. Jonpais...you mention it now for 200 times ... headfon jack and battery and lcd monitor and and and .... If you still have Fuji stuff - just sell it and write in another thread .. please.
The many others like me are super clear with the x-h1..manch one should send the camera to Fuji Service times when I read all this.
Others make unrealistic tests where one attacks the head. If you criticize then the handle will be funny too ... oje oje :-)

here is video that made my mind about x-h1 ibis:

and a comparsion with a7r3 where's a difference pronounced even more:

I have seen someone saying there's only 40mbit/s for 120fps.

please can someone who already own x-h1 at hand confirm this? I wonder if this is a case for in-camera slowed down footage ( and then its kinda make a sense: 40 * (120/24) = 200)

Honestly are these 2 tests meaningful to you? do you always film in the go with 2 cameras in the hand? ... when I read this I think that some of you are filming as a hobby. If I walk around with a camera as if I have a chill then nothing good can come out. There are enough videos on the net where all the reviews are "not" visible. And if I then read "Deal Maker to a Deal Breaker" because of the best ibis currently ... oh god you (BTM_Pix) have real problems: -) ... but you do not photograph with xh-1 (x-t2)?
Not every camera is suitable for everyone, I think .. ;-)

     hope I understood you correctly

Keep in mind that it can't switch batteries when recording, which means recording will stop when a battery runs dry, so you have to plan accordingly.

If I film for so long then I hang it on the net ... then I need no battery at all :-)

  6. @webrunner

It's about time that you have a Fuji in your hand and are suffering under real circumstances. Unfortunately you only write negative about the x-h1 although you have no idea how good it really is. Otherwise it would be better to write the whole thing in a Sony thread.
Sorry ... but you've written a few times that you'll never buy a Fuji, so what are you going to do with it?

I do not write in a Sony or Pana forum if I do not use any of these brands .. Sorry

Ok, rapid backtracking (apologies AR), autofocus performance seems to have deteriorated on X-H1 vs X-T2, worryingly so in fact. There's me pre-purchase thinking it couldn't have been worse than the X-T2 implementation. Hmm. This is based on hands-on initial testing (out of box settings as well as with some tweaking) by myself with three recent/modern (linear motor) fuji lenses as well as the 35mm 1.4 which is expected to be a poor performer comparatively. Oh dear, though I still have faith in FW updates to solve, though I am certainly currently disappointed.

Everything you say I can confirm - hope it is quickly changed by a firmware update

@Yurolov where have you seen the IBIS being super jittery??

I just had another look at that video. It appears at least some of those clips were taken on different days. There are clouds in some of the Fuji clips, where its completely clear in Panasonic ones. And yeh, the Fuji looks overexposed. He may have knocked that exposure dial accidentally.

I just wanted exactly the same letter ... here one sometimes asks oneself

It looks like he was intentionally trying to make the Fuji look horrendous.

Yes, that really looks like it

Has anyone found a way to quickly enter video mode or record a clips from within stills mode without the dreaded mode-dial lever thingy yet?

    Sorry..

Such messages are not in order - provocative even ...

if that's your only problem ..oh god

The dreaded mode dial lever on the h1 is bigger and quicker to use. So for a normal mobile finger has - no problem. He is not really good on T2. ;-)

  10. @Alt Shoo - "The xh1 is the first time I’ve ever considered buying a Fuji, but because it’s only 8bit I won’t get it."

Sorry - Again and again the same Schmarrn with the 8bit-10bit.

I'm quite Yurolov view - and this list (1DC) could be extended to some cameras!

  11. Inazuma, I'm sorry ... it almost looks like you're in a Gh5 or NX-1 thread here :-)

What I read here (are only 3 or 4) unbelievably many subjective things ..... and no - they certainly did not have any x-t2 in their hands ... let alone worked with one (except inazuma, jonpais, django, etc.)

The good Colorscience of Fuji is undisputed in "professional circles" (in contrast to the colors of a Gh5 or pana) ... but what makes the man "behind" the camera with it is yet another story.

What I read here of some unfortunately has little to do with an objective factual discussion ... Sorry

    @jonpais

I'll probably buy one ... my local dealer is very nice and I can possibly try it over a weekend.

  12. @jonpais
    You're pretty annoying ;-)
It already knows everyone that you can read on the display ev. Maybe you need a new pair of glasses?
Then 4k60p .... because that has every camera and very important "Zebra" ... and I do not forget the batteries ojee .....
Battery grip a nogo ... I laugh at me dead slowly nice :-)

  13. Hallo Tim,

    I am a Austrian x-t2 User..my Englisch is not good - Sorry

The ideal combination is absolutly two x-t2

I have sold my C100 + 7D and many Lenses..and Chanced to Fuji.

My change to Fuji I have in no way regret. Property still have an xc10 - this I will still sell and still buy an X-T2.

Unfortunately, my English is too bad for me to contribute here in this discussion better.
