How are you guys changing the normal gamma settings? When I go in the menu, where you can select the gammas, I see a small arrow on top of gamma C and gamma DR, where by pressing "up" I can change sharpness, saturation etc. I see no such arrow on top of Normal gamma, if I select it, and can't customize the normal gamma with sharpness or other of those settings. Can you really customize Normal gamma? And if so - how? I'm using the NX1.

Navigation button (Custom wheel) down and Picture wizard opens. You can customize your own settings too there.

    Kisaha:

I have noticed that some are complaining about "exposure drifting". I don't have this problem, but if I set this smart range on there will be this annoying changing in exposure sometimes.

Try lowering the contrast too, but at -10 I can't see any USM sharpening on the 4K/UHD
don't judge it on the camera screen, nor on your monitor unless you are looking at it full size on a 4K monitor.
Zoom to 100% and then check if it's too sharp, as resizing of the preview will make impossible to pass judgement on that.
If you are using Premiere for export to lower resolution, make sure you check the option that makes high-quality resize.

I use MPC-HC for viewing in 1080p monitor. And I have used sharpening setting 0 all the time. If I look the picture in MPC-HC choosing in the menu View/Video Frame/Normal Size, the picture should look as it would in 4k monitor (very large one though). The picture doesn't look too sharp to me.

In 1080p monitor the picture looks maybe little too sharp if video is sized to that.

I hope I can buy a 4K monitor+GPU soon (waiting for the prices go down) Then I could see if the NX1 picture is too sharp for me.

Just checked some clips from yesterday, they are 180Mbps, so here it works fine.
What does "current bitrate" from the menu tells you?
No one has reported problems with bitrates for at least 2-3 months, so my guess is it has something to do with your "other" mod.

    edit:
NX-KS does not really modify the firmware (except adding the Bluetooth launcher), however the other mod you had installed does.
Installing both is not a good idea, and how well the other mod uninstalls is unknown to me. The safe thing for you to do would be to flash your device with the original Samsung's firmware, and then install NX-KS.

Current bitrate changed depending what was set in bitrate, default was 180 and I tried 170 too.

Yes I was thinking too that the reason might be the other mods modified firmware, but I was curious to see if I could change easily between mods. But it seems not to be a good idea.

I installed Vasile's mod back and it seems to work normally. But if I want to try NX-KS again I will do the original firmware flash first.

  4. Hi Kinoseed! I would like to report that I tried your 2.49 version, but could not get bitrates working. All videoclips where 80Mbp/s, no matter what settings I did set (UHD 30fps).

I have Vasile's nx-on wake patch installed. Mod was uninstalled first before I installed yours.

Just for your information in case someone else reports this kind of problem too.

Ok, here are my findings from dodays shoot.

It slows down the camera. A lot. Like a lot lot! But most of us already know that right?
    a) When the SD is clean + you have a lot of light + temperature is ok (around 22 degrees *C on the sun), it works beautifully for me at 190mbps with pretty budget card.
    b) When the SD is filling up (30% and more filled up) + you are loosing good light (golden hour is dimminishing and you are pushing Iso from 100 to 200, 400,800,1250,2000..) + temperature drops (7-8 *C), it stops frequently. What worked with conditions a) is not working with b) anymore. The camera is getting slower (my opinion, nothing scientific), the card is stopping- this one is for sure and I had to drop it down from 190 to 165.. I wonder what is causing it?

    Also:
Loading of script is slow. Really slow. When you run and gun, everything needs to be smooth, fast. And its not. There was a moment when the camera frozed, so I took out the battery, placed it in and got like purple error screen (Looked like when you drop your phone on the ground and the screen breaks, looked really bad). So I rebooted again and the script. Just takes a long time and when you are shooting in high cadency motion situations, those moments to load the script just feels like forever. And you are loosing a lot of time. Didnt had the time to check the files, not sure if recording before the script is loaded causes to record with previously modified bitrate or just standard Pro 80mbps.

Other then that: cadency is fixed,CTUs are better, more einformation is there.
    The question is
    - what caused the card to be so unstable in my todays recordings?
    - Is there a way to make the script not slow down the camera so much?

This is the first version. It is faster than BT versions http://***URL removed***/forums/post/57559389

Currently I am testing Kino Seeds mod, but I don't know yet if it is faster than Vasile's  first version (just the bitrate hack)

Here Kino Seed explains little about the card speed and setting the bitrate http://***URL removed***/forums/post/57688493

I think someone said that on old firmware versions the photo NR settings would also apply to video. I tried to find the post but could not.

Would a kind soul point me in the right direction, and could someone retest that firmware version to confirm?

Maybe I can dig something out from that firmware to see what they changed for current firmware version.

Did you meant this post http://***URL removed***/forums/post/57598414
