I think I mentioned earlier in the thread but those are messages from the camera to the app to tell it what items to give the user access to.
Its one piece of the puzzle in that you can still construct set commands based on them (or estimates of what they will be) but the camera will not necessarily action them and you will generally get an "err_parameter" message in your browser.
An example of this would be to send :
    http://192.168.54.1/cam.cgi?mode=setsetting&type=videoquality&value=mp4ed_c24p_100mbps_c4K
Sending this will be actioned by Panasonic cameras that have the functionality enabled but won't be by those that won't.
In this respect, it is pure good fortune that although Cinelike D and V are not enabled in the app the camera will actually activate them if we send it the commands.
There are other examples such as the ISO50000 mode and 23 point AF mode that aren't listed but I was able to get working.
You will also see this selective rejection when you have the camera in PAL mode, you can send it NTSC based formats such as 1080p60 but it will reject them.
If you then boot the camera using the multi button diagnostic mode into NTSC region you will be able to send them and it will action them.
We can only presume that Panasonic had it in mind to have Cinelike D and V in the GX80 and left it in there.
Something unusual happens when you tell it to go into one of the high bitrate 1080p modes in that it switches to 4K24p so its not entirely rejecting it but its also not doing it either.
Again, I'll say that the LX100 is doing something odd with the Cinelike commands so there might be something worth tinkering with there.
For now, I'm only concentrating on looking at command stuff for my hardware box (which is all I was originally intending to be tinkering with this stuff for anyway before I uncovered the Cinlike thing!) so hopefully now so many of you are using this you might all find some new stuff with your own experiments.

What you can try is- unscrew the focus mechanism on the side (4 screws), get rid of that two lube or platik knobs and try to get that whole front thing out (focus above infinity). Seems like you have to relube that thing.
After that you can replace the focus screw with a lower profile screw. In most cases, you can focus closer than 3m. Today i got like 1,70. Otherwise there will be bigger operations for closer closer focus.

I just tried this on my zs100 and it appears to work as well.  I can't confirm 100% but the profile appears more flat than the flat settings I was using.  I can also confirm that the latest GX85 firmware update works fine with this.
One thing to mention, if you have your camera in C1, C2, C3 setting when you apply this, it will only apply the profile to that C setting and leave all other settings as is.

Thanks so much BTM_Pix for your post, great work

For anyone who wants to try Cinelike V as well, just use this updated html file and you'll now be able to switch between Cinelike D, Cinelike V and back to Standard.
Just a heads up to anyone who is about to try this for the first time is that you may have to initiate the handshake procedure twice when you first connect to your camera but every subsequent connection after that will only require it once.
The situation with vlog by the way is that the camera is pretty much acting like my missus when I ask her to make a cup of tea. Hears the request, replies 'OK' so appears to understand it and then does absolutely nothing about it
There is maybe something there with trying to persuade it to do higher bitrate HD though but don't build your hopes up.

Thanks, way more clear now ...but you also wrote this
...and I always wondered how that is even possible as the LUT doesn't have a clue what lens or lens combination in the case of a speedbooster I used.

Yes, you just have to modify the html file so that when you hit 'Deploy' it takes you to B&H Website where you can then buy a GH5

Wow, cool - I just discovered the same yesterday when testing my next version of my GMonitor app (see www.minaxsoft.com for more details). I was wondering about it as the profile name is not appearing on the display. Thanks for confirming!
It seems that is also possible to enable Cinelike V on the GX80 but so far not sure about it! I'll build it into my apps and release it tomorrow evening.
Maybe I should try to enable V-Log, too :-))))

    OK
So for anyone wanting to try this, I have made a really simple method to do it.
I have tested this numerous times on my GX80 and it has lived to tell the tale but obviously do this at your own risk.
All that this process does is fool the camera into thinking its talking to the smartphone app and then the commands it sends are exactly what the smartphone app sends. Or would do if the smartphone app thought it was talking to a camera equipped with Cinelike D !
So as such it is only getting sent what the Panasonic app would be sending to it so there are no hacky or sneaky debug things getting sent to it.
Again, though, proceed at your own risk.
Although I would say, if you’ve tried that region switching hack on YouTube with the 10 million key press combos during power up then you’re already brave enough to try this!
Bear in mind that my unit is a GX80 and the firmware is version 1.0
If you have a GX85 or have got a different firmware then I just don’t know because obviously I haven’t got any other devices to test it on.

    Here we go then….
Follow these instructions exactly and you should have Cinelike D on your GX80/85
You will need a laptop or a phone with a browser, the camera and to download the simple html file attached.

    1) Switch on camera and turn on wifi as though you were connecting the app and you should see the waiting screen on the camera
    2) Load the Deploy Cinelike D.html file into your browser
    3) Select ‘Handshake’
    4) You should see the browser page change and it confirm that its connected to a GX80
    5) Hit the back key on the browser
    6) Select ‘Connect’
    7) You should see the browser page change to say ‘ok’ and the camera give you an ‘Under Remote Control’ message
    8) Wait until the camera screen shows you a live view
    9) Hit the back key on the browser
    10) Select ‘Deploy’
    11) You should see the browser page change to say ‘ok’ and the camera should NOT now be displaying the Photo Style you had selected (i.e. Standard, Vivid etc)
    12) Cinelike D is now active on the camera
    13) If you go into the menu on the camera and select Photo Style you will see that it is blank and you can’t navigate to other Photo Styles such as Standard etc.
    14) To restore the Photo Styles hit the back button on the browser and select ‘Restore’ and the camera will display the Standard photo style and you should then be able to go into Photo Styles and change them.
    15) Repeat 9-14 to switch between them to your hearts content!

So, like other settings, the Cinelike D profile will persist when you switch the camera off so if you want to use the other Photo Styles again then you MUST go this process again to re-enable them.
However, if you would like to switch between them without using this method again (and who wouldn’t) here is a neat way round it.
When you’ve done Step 12 and got Cinelike D on, set all your other parameters (4K24p etc) as you’d like them and save these into C1 of the custom settings.
Then go to Step 14 and use the ‘Restore’ to get your standard Photo Styles back, set all your other parameters (4K24p etc) as you’d like them and then save these into C2 of the custom settings.
Now when you switch the camera on, you simply choose C1 to have Cinelike D or C2 for the standard Photo Styles and forget about using any nonsense about using browsers and wifi connections!

In couple of weeks I’m hoping to show you how you can do stuff like this and some other useful bits and pieces from a little hardware gadget that will work on the Panasonic cameras but have fun with this in the meantime.

Kind of but its actually a lot more basic than that to be honest mate and doesn't require any modification of the app.
I've got a really simple way of testing it if anyone wants to have a go themselves?

Well it was never going to be a low light monster but I can let you have ISO50000 now if you want it as well
    Top ISO6400 (max for video)
Middle ISO25600 (standard max for stills)
Bottom ISO50000 (modified max for stills)
It still reports it as 25600 in the exif funnily enough. And it doesn't display it onscreen either, just like it doesn't with the Cinelike D
So there seems to be a mismatch between the values it writes in the metadata and displays on screen with what it can actually be made to do. This is very potentially very interesting regarding a bitrate I thought I'd persuaded it to do earlier......

So, as some of you may know, I've been "experimenting" with having little chats with different Panasonic cameras over WiFi and after whispering in the GX80s ear last night, I may have come up with something quite interesting.
The first image is a grab from a GX80 using its Standard profile.
The second image is a grab from a GX80 that is definitely not using the Standard profile.......

    Now then........
I doubt I've got the wherewithal to get your 100mbit HD going but I might have just got something reasonably interesting working on the GX80.
I need to do a proper controlled test against a G7 in the morning to confirm it but I'm cautiously optimistic.
    Stay tuned

Absolutely true. I've watched this on my 5K iMac, 65" UHD OLED and 75" UHD LCD, and there is not a trace of moire. Further, I can't recall anyone ever complaining about moire with the GH5. As you've correctly said, sometimes the computer and/or monitor that's being used can easily cause these artifacts. That roof is squeaky clean.
How about a nice UV filter smeared with Vaseline. That  should give it that nice cinematic look that some are after.

Auckland, New Zealand. The shop (ACC) just called so I'm going over now. Will shoot the feature film on the way back ;p
Of course we all know a proper review means shooting the review on an RX100 while holding the GH5 and looking at it for 20 minutes.

don't worry ..it happens first time...metabones "calibrates" to the lens...do a full zoom in-out and focus min-max...then close camera..remove lens-adapter-body and reconnect...everything should be fine now..

Started watching the new season of Narcos the other day. I started noticing how quite a few shots had some shakiness to 'em. There's no smooth hovering with a locked feeling. It moves. It adds something raw. It's organic. It's real. That's the thing if you don't take care of overdoing it... everything is just articially floating, like a virtual camera through 3D space. Now that has its use, surely, but like everything, it's a tool. You shoot stable footage when a situation is under control... when a character's thoughts are running around or there's an intense dialog, you shake things up a bit. Like just about everything in life... enjoy in moderation. Put it to good use, but don't overdo it. To have the possibility and choice though, I think is great!
