DanC1 reacted to kabuto1138 in Anamorphic raw footage question
Hey Dan, where you able to resolve this? (pun highly intended) If I understood your question you can't change your raw clip to the bmd color space? you go under the RAW tab and go to Decode Using, then when you go to clip you should be able to just get bmd color space.

But it can with a plugin. Here is a quick tutorial using Adobe Camera Raw in After Effects.
Do like the post above, switch to BMDfilm and it will look exactly like prores. Its not an issue, its supposed to be like that

How sweet and funny to read all these comments. Yes indeed I created a very poor lens test. I should have shot a testcard and do a rack focus. Would have been so much easier as well.

DanC1 got a reaction from danreddingvideo in Will taking lens change flare characteristics?
I recently compared the horizontal flare on the Helios to a Nikon 50mm f1.8 both with the Sankor 16c attached. I found the Helios gave a more subtle flare and the Nikon a stronger 'blue line' horizontal flare.

Get a Rectilux and you're set. The Sankor is decent quality. Rectilux plus a projection anamorphic is the cheapest single-focus setup. Anything cheaper is a gimmick or is junk quality.

Thanks for the reply, I bought the eoshd guide and found a sankor 16c reasonably priced so went for that!

unfortunately you're not going to find anything within budget that fulfils your requirements. The iscoramas are not very heavy at all. pretty much everything else of a single focus nature will be heavier. unfortunately an iscorama is around 3x your budget. maybe a slr magic 1.33x? it's not 100% single focus but preowned should come in on budget.
there are plenty of dual focus options that will fulfil the aesthetic and optical quality requirements. maybe look there (kowa, sankor, etc) then plan a purchase of one of the multiple focus units that are currently on offer. slr magic rangefinder, FM lens and Rectilux. get a good dual focus setup and then its just a case of saving for a focus unit.

I really enjoyed that. It looks cool and was funny and well cut, the trailer made me want to see more. It reminds me of Bad Taste and Brain Dead for some reason.
