  1. I hope panasonic and olympus can come up with zoom lenses with F2.0 just like sigma and Tokina, would be amazing if we have such zoom lens on m43 and bmd cameras.
  2. I think that's the reason those Fotodiox EF-NX adapter with internal ND filter may be more desired than external variable ND.
  3. I don't think Sony will only supply outdated sensor to its customers. Whether Fuji gets a new or old or even custom designed sensor is decided by Fuji and not Sony. If Sony only wants to give Fuji old sensors, Fuji will sure find another supplier, they're not dumb enough to ruin their flagship cameras and Sony is not dumb enough to do that.
  4. This looks amazing. I think I'll buy it, but the video mode is still something I'm not quite sure about. Looking forward to reviews for the video, I may still get a blackmagic micro cinema camera.
  5. Thanks for the update, that's nice to hear. I would really love to have a Shogun when I have the budget.
  6. I've ordered an Aputure VS-2 FineHD, it's a 7" Full HD IPS monitor, cost about $295 on ebay. It's still on its way but I'm looking forward to it. But it's 7 inch so not as compact as SmallHD 501. I like 7" monitor, very comfortable to work with.
  7. Does the micro have active ventilation? Looks like there is exhaust on both sides or is that just some deco?
  8. Indeed, sounds like a great idea.
  9. There is a Teradek Clip which can stream the HDMI signal to iphone/ipad using H.264, but at a cost of 4 frames delay, which I think is quite ok but expensive.
  10. It looks gorgous. I think I'll buy one. The micro hdmi was indeed a pain on many cameras. I wish SDI could become the standard of the consumer cameras as well but I know sadly it won't happen.
  11. Daisy chain sounds quite doable. I've seen people doing this, however I'm not sure how much the latency between the monitors would be. Ideally if the monitor is good enough you shouldn't notice any significant delay.
  12. Actually I think the focus by wire of the 16-50S is quite amazing. It's very precise and adjustable, and the most important, it's "linear", which means I can even put it on the follow focus and it works perfectly and stops where I want. To be honest it's smoother than many canon L lense I've used. It's not the same as those bad focus by wire system many people are complaining about. On the other hand, the focus by wire system of the sony E mount lenses is not "linear", if you turn the focus ring faster or slower, the step size of the lens focus changes, and you end up with a wrong scale on the follow focus and it's totally unusable. I'm not sure whether every E mount lenses are like this, but the ones I've used, they are. This variable manual focus step size makes the E lenses quite unusable for manual focus, because it's quite unpredictable.
  13. What browsers have you tried? I'm using chrome and have never had any issues with the forum with adblocker on. I guess it could be some random compatibility issues with certain browsers.
  14. Yea the sensor uses less pixels for DCI 4k, so less oversampling -> better rolling shutter, the output will be not as sharp as UHD, but the difference is neglectable.
  15. I'll be thinking about BMMCC with speed booster if I have shogun, it looks a better combo than with the NX1 because of the better HDMI/SDI output of the BMMCC. I think the advantage of NX1 is its internal recording with good quality, just using the camera itself as a whole system. But BMMCC is not available yet... Still I'm a bit interested in buying one. edit: oops, I mean the BMMSC if I'm right, the micro studio camera with 4k output, which is already available
  16. Is it a good idea to pair a Zuiko 12mm 2.0 and an ATOMOS shogun for 4k recording of the micro studio camera in the field?
  17. I just checked the local shop here in the Netherlands and they are already selling the micro, including the 4k version. http://www.cameranu.nl/nl/p698995/blackmagic-micro-cinema-videocamera http://www.cameranu.nl/nl/p699115/blackmagic-micro-studio-camera-4k Looks nice and the 2k version is already sold out......
  18. You can actually mark the adapter with a script pen or something sharp, like each stop with a dot on the adapter. It should be very simple and should work for all lenses
  19. The Kiwi adapters looks good, and the screws are much longer than the Fotasy, which is only about 4mm long, too short. I'm actually a bit afraid of my sigma 18-35 on the Fotasy, hope the screw can hold it with some loctite.
  20. I think the Novoflex is a good adapter, tried it once and it worked very well. What I'm using at the moment is the Fotasy adapter for Nikon G lenses, does the job pretty well. However most of the adapters I tried have slightly some play when mounted, I forgot whether the Novoflex has any play. The Fotasy (Nikon F/G), Kiwi (Canon EF) I have are tight enough but if I turn them with some force they will still move a bit. The quality doesn't differ much, however the Kiwi is not compatible with all lense/adapters with EF mount that I have, some of them just can't lock. I guess it's the chinese m42-EF NK-EF adapters that are too bad. Maybe we can also use external battery with a usb cable, but I'm not sure whether it works.
  21. Nice. I was using VSCO for Lightroom when I was still using my PC for photo editing, but somehow I'm using VSCO cam now.
  22. VSCO cam is one of my favourite app on my ipad, did you edit it in ipad as well?
  23. Give MPlayerX a try. I have a lot of codec problems with VLC since a few years ago, and MPlayerX solves my problems.
  24. XC10 is quite a special camera for its purpose indeed, I don't think it's bad. Don't know why BMCC is lower. I was actually planning to get one instead of NX1.
  25. Thanks for the comparison, nice to see more feedback from people who have both cameras. They've just blown my mind when I tried each of them, but you get what you pay for. It's just a pity that the NX1 seems to go out of sight in the market. I'm actually planning to buy an external monitor for my NX1. I feel very uncomfortable when I use EVF/OVF when wearing glasses, it just pushes my glasses to my face and that causes something like distortion in everything because my glasses is not in the right place anymore, and I can't see the full EVF, the edge is always vignetting.
