Theoretically a 4GB RAM is the sweet spot for Android OS, 6-8GB RAM for very demanding gamers... In Windows, for sure, 12GB can help depending on your post needs.
For Android editing, I really don't know if for the level of apps available, 12 GB RAM can or not make difference if any.

For casual photography, smartphones bring a new world of possibilities. Sometimes the difference between to get the shot or not. More usual than we can think before to put our hands there. Without mention a whole new universe for computational photography... go figure, selfies also help to subject think we're just taking one. Interesting times for shooting (E : -)

I was honestly surprised how bad the iPhone looks sometimes. Seems to do well with close ups, but wide shots look nasty. The sharpening is pretty terrible. I was expecting more. That said maybe there are after market apps that can improve the look, maybe bypass internal sharpening?? Otherwise its a hard no. The HDR seems to have a weird effect on the footage sometimes too, like it degrades the image further.

You're fully right : ) This is a general problem comprehending the whole tiny sensor universe going with ultra high resolution. Blur @post is panacea. Take a look on this sample, download the 4K version and put it soften along PotPlayer, is day or night:

Recent reviews from the usual suspects hints aliasing to be more noticed on telephoto 2x lens of the 7T version mainly on photo samples anyway:

But I don't see aliasing here in any of the old or new 7 and 7T models as for instance from this old version's sample, same camera lenses set of the 7T PRO though:

On the other hand, the PRO version's curved screen can potentially be more prone to mistouch than the 7T model especially while watching videos as noticed by this some other reviewer:

A few others have also speculated the choice of cropping from 13MP to 8MP (7 PRO / 7T PRO) by the manufacturer for the telephoto lens and its rounded 3x lossless zoom mode as a way to avoid the glass borders softness found there.
