  1. You mean the shop at ebay? its one of the biggest elektronic consumer product supplier in Germany, you find them in every city.

Good, Ill send them a message to know if they ship to Portugal.

This has been such a pain to get, since the camera wasnt released in Portugal yet, nor Spain.

  2. Thank you so much, Im probably getting that pack

Any feedback on the store ?

**Im no expert in german, but it says they only ship to germany I believe..?!

  3. Bringing this back from the dead, I was gettingt the camera at Verkkokauppa but the price raised and I couldnt get it in time.

Anyone knows where's the cheapest pack around ? Body only or some kits, preferably around 1500€ tops. Europe only, and new.

  4. Thanks :)

    But I wouldn't call the 30/2.0 a kit lens. It's actually good.

And yes, it's resale value is as I predicted here a few months back plummeting. Just how it is with the less mainstream brands, just look at Sony. So look for used once and get the bargain of the century.

In Sweden it was a tough sale so I got 20% discount on a new one just a month or two from launch.

The 30mm f2.0 isnt, I was talking about the 16-50 3.5-5.6 that most reviewers use..

  5. One of the best reviews of the NX1 around, very good footage with good lenses (apart from the kit lens that most reviews use). This camera is a Pro level camera, and should be treated as such (Like you did), and yet most reviews seem to show it as a low-tier camera which is disapointing.

Eitherway, Im buying mine next week (I've been saying this for about a month -..- ), I absolutely agree with you, this camera surpasses the GH4 by a long shot, and I dont think the rolling shutter is that bad, even for hand-held (unless its really fast paced action).

I am very secure about my purchase, and I know, its the best camera for the price (even against expencifier cameras).

  6. Absolutely love your style and work, I am usually very critic about the people I follow, but you have the type of look and style, that I find perfect, and you're kind of my idol now :P

Im upgrading to the NX1 (the NX1 video was the 1st I saw from you), and you seem to have liked the camera very much, now that you've had more time to play around, what do you think about it ?

Keep going, and share your videos, its always a bliss to watch them !

  7. I'd get it, searching for one for like 3months, and will probably make the jump on the 15th of this month when I get some money. But I need European, due to warranty and such :/ Still good luck, you're doing a nice price, Im sure you'll sell it easily.

  8. Sure. These are straight out of camera - compressed to jpg from RAW. The vignette in the first image is from the EF-NX iris adapter - it was stopped down about halfway through the iris's range.

Can you post some other pics ? Maybe landscape/portraits if possible. Its hard to check how the lens handles on those artistic ones.

  9. Sigma 18-35 on the NX1 with Fotodiox iris ring EF dumb adapter, which doesn't work very well with EF-S mount lenses- too much vignetting past the first few stops. image.jpg.4a9f172438b3056e64fed3df6a7885

I was thinking of getting this setup, would u be so kind to share some shots/footage ?!

  10. Different horses, different courses. I've had the "priviledge" to edit some music videos here in Finland and I've noticed a funny trend. If it's shot on the GH4, it will most likely look like crap. If it's shot even on an old 5dmarkII, it will most likely look pretty nice. Funny.

The GH4 is one of the best video cameras around (for the price of course), you may have been just unlucky with the footage you got. The 5D2/3 videowise dont go anywhere close the GH4, let alone the NX1, and this camera doesnt seem to get close to neither.

  11. Canon's demo film for the camera is out, and yes, it's got the Canon Cinema EOS colors and good looks (while being limited to deep focus cinematography due to lens aperture and sensor size):

So, no, cheaper consumer cameras with similar specs on paper won't replace this.

Looks good, but for the price, I cant help thinking you're much better off with a GH4/NX1/NX500 or RX10. I seriously cannot see who the target is, but then again I was never too much of a fan of the Canon Look.

  12. EF-s lenses work on the normal EF adapter. The Nx1 has a 1.5 crop (similar to Nikon APSC) instead of 1.6 crop on canon. So using EF-S lenses shouldnt be a problem, the only issue is no aperture control.

I, like you, will be buying the NX1 tomorrow or so, and am thinking of getting the 18-35mm f1.8 as my go to lens. Will probably buy the Nikon mount since there are adapters with aperture control for nikon lenses.

  13. APSC camera oustells FF because it is cheaper, and the mass sales come from standard people, not the passionates or the pros.

You guys are very funny. Say a system is not dead because it ranks good on Amazon. LOL . . .
Steve Jobs would be shocked in his tombstone.

When I say APSC is dead I am not talking about Amazon ranking, I am talking about THE DIRECTION photo and video is taking, and this direction is towards FF and not APSC which sets the death of APSC.
Of course it will sell on Amazon this year, the next year and year after. You are very funny ....

    You're dead wrong on Video.

I dont believe FF will actually become the norm in video, because the excessive bokeh isnt necessary since we're emulating the Super35 look, unless low light performance like the A7s becomes the standard for FF, which wont probably happen in the next 5 years.

APSC isnt dying, its actually growing, lenses like the Sigma 18-35mm give spectacular performance and FF like images on cheap bodies, while retaining high burst rates, adding the high megapixel count that most APSC bodies have (like the 28mpx on the NX1 and 4K) I cannot see how anyone would think APSC is dying in either photography or video.

  14. APS-C cameras outsell FF versions by a large margin, and for good reason. The idea that APS-C is dead is absurd.

I've wanted a full frame camera ever since I got my 600D, I thought that was the way to go, better image quality overall and better bokeh. But as I've learned more and more on photography and video, I realizes that is not what I needed, and actually started looking at smaller and smaller sensors (GH4 M43). At this point i've decided to get the NX1, and I dont have any second doubt this is the best video camera I can get for the money, that surpasses any other sensor out there.

  15. I get you and feel your pain.

I myself am 25, never done a feature film (mostly because I dont think im ready yet), have done a few shortfilms (heres my latest : https://vimeo.com/111478234 ) and I've had ups and downs, where I felt like I could conquer the world, and others where I should just sell everything and move along. But then I realized, I will probably never stop having this "hunger" for filmmaking...even if I dont do anything for a year, I will then watch a movie that will trigger it back.

I now have a job as a graphic designer, will be buying a new camera (Nx1) and start making shortfilms again, it is what I like, so no matter where I am in life, I will keep doing it. One of my biggest problems is of course financing (the hollow was done with around 100€ mostly for gas and what not), and once I get that down, and have some backup/help, I wil follow this full time.

Remember, whatever you do in life, is irrelevant, but its important that you do it, because if you dont, no one else will.

  16. Do you need it ?!

    No

Should you have it, if you're upgrading anytime soon ?!

    Yes !

I myself am leaving the 1080p this week, and joining forces with the 4k on the NX1, I've had some customers already asking for 4k, even though they would still go with me with 1080p, its just a matter of time until they "demand" it. For us, filmakers, its such a "relief" to be able to reframe and stabilize footage without many worries.

  17. If / when H265 is supported in Premiere — I might stick to my current workflow.  It all depends on how the footage looks, of course. But I've really preferred working with ProRes.  I don't miss working with GH4 H264 files.  Despite the file size and ability to edit immediately after shooting (which, c'mon. How often did I need to turn around my projects in less than 24 hours after shooting it?)

This is my thinking, currently with my schedual, I only deliver my works in 2 months (max.) so 1 day wont make a difference.

  18. Image quality is only part of the equation.  For weddings,  I don't think the difference will be all that noticeable. The work flow however,  will be extremely noticeable.  When doing weddings,  workflow is an extremely important factor.  While more systems will support h265 in future,  support is still very thin and requires a much higher spec computer. Also. The h265 macroblocking concerns me. By the time h265 is widely accepted and easy to deal with,  you will probably be wanting a new camera anyway.  GH4 now,  h265 camera in a few years.

Years ?! H265 support will probably arrive to most systems this summer.

Its not just about the image quality, the Nx1 seems like a higher quality camera all around, there would be no point in getting the GH4 at this time IMO.
