A pretty good price for exc + condition of the two prime lenses would be around $75. I have no idea about the zoom. I have been wondering the same question. I came across an old OM 50mm f1.8 that I bought a long time ago but never tested. Well today I threw it on the NX500, and it is a really nice lens... Wide open good. So, I went online and encountered the same contradictions you did Then I went on eBay and found a 28mm f2 for a steal... About a third less than the going rate. So, I bought it now. I really like that they made every prime focal length in a f2 version. Have you found out any more about them? I also found 3 different zooms that look pretty interesting... The 35-70mm f3.5, the 35-70mm f4, and the 28-48mm f4. Any info you, or anyone, might have would be greatly appreciated.

I, personally, like the Pentax lenses better. I think they're the most overlooked vintage lenses around. And they are cheaper than FD lenses. Plus, a lot of people use FD lenses, not as many use Pentax, so your videos would have an inherently different look. But FDs are good too and cheap.

I think my definition of sharp and other people's are different. I found the Pentax-M 28mm more than sharp enough wide open, but since we're taking wide open, does the metabones XL significantly sharpen lenses wide open or just a little? But, yeah that is why I suggested FD lenses to him the other day. He can get the 50mm 1.8, the 28mm 2.8 and the either the 35-70 or the 35-105 all for less than $200. Or if he wanted to spend twice that, he can pick up the 28mm f2 and the 50mm 1.4 and the 24mm f2 and have a nice little set of FD lenses.

It is pretty sharp and contrasty at 2.8, especially if you have a clean copy. Don't underestimate the 50mm though. It is a HIGHLY regarded lens that gets better reviews than the 1.4. What is your fancy with zoom lenses? Sure they're more convenient, but since you are so worried about speed, I would think primes would be better for you. You will get a way better image with primes, in most cases, and you can always use the old fashioned zoom... Your legs.

I hope so, I have a bunch of them that I want to sell, but I paid next to nothing for them, and I'll probably get even less.

Are they the SMC Pentax-M? If so, then yes I have used the 28mm and the 50mm. They are both excellent lenses and probably some of the cheapest, high quality vintage lenses you will find. The focus rings on those lenses are just buttery smooth. You can literally adjust focus with one finger. I have not used the zoom, in fact I've never seen one. Go to Pentax Forums, they have a lens database with User Reviews, and often times, photo samples. Just remember they are a dime a dozen, so be sure you are paying next to nothing because mint copies are regularly available for ridiculously cheap prices.

Yeah, you're probably right. I know it can accept more weight than just the GoPro/iPhone due to the fact that they have an hdmi monitor for it (which would help more with the counterbalance) and since I only would use the Micro with small c-mount lenses, I thought it might just work. I guess the good news is that B&H carries it, so it can always be returned fairly easy.

I'm glad to hear about the 45mm. I have an old copy that has some fungus in it, so I never mounted it to my camera. But everything I have heard about it was conflicting. Some people love it and some say it's okay for a kit lens. Then I saw Volker's video with it and I just love that 3D quality. Does your copy show that 3D separation as well? And yeah, when you get something on the pocket, please share.

I was looking at the Lanparte HHG-01. It's made for the iPhone and GoPro, but I think it may work with the BMMCC. Plus they make a cheap monitor for a complete Micro rig. Monitor and gimbal can be had for less than $400.

That's a nice set. I love the 35mm 1.8. I wish I never sold mine. I have the 24-35mm 3.5, 28mm f2, 35-70mm macro, and the 50mm 1.4. I want to pick up a cheap 45mm f2 and I may replace my 24-35 with the 24-50. I also have a couple Celtics... I have a mint copy of the MC 35mm f2.8 that I declicked. I want to find a speedbooster for them, but they're hard to come by. Do you use yours with your pocket cam? If so, do you have any clips? I'd really like to see how the Minoltas look on the BMPCC. Stunning.

Interesting thread. I think it would be smart of Panasonic to not try and emulate Sony's path. But I agree some very specific upgrades are in order. History has proven that Panasonic acknowledges that the video market is a good portion of their GH line sales, so a few video centric upgrades could really help to set them apart from Sony, Canon, Nikon, etc... If anything, I would like to see Panasonic going after Blackmagic sales. Give us the GH version of the Pocket cam with 4K downscaled in MP4 and 60p at 2x crop and compressed Raw Full HD... Even with a larger crop... Actually I would prefer it, as it would open up more lens possibilities with c-mount lenses. -
Tokina always needed a 50mm prime, IMO. A Tessar Cine Prime would be an excellent addition if you ask me.

The Tokina Cine lenses look great. They're a touch overpriced, IMO, but the 11-16 isn't bad. I hope they come out with some Cine primes.

Yes, I have been eyeing the D5500 for awhile because I would like to start doing some stills, but one of the drawbacks has always been that I like to have lens options. Then I saw that OM lenses will work on a Nikon if you change the mount. You can get them on eBay for 20 bucks.
