I'd recommend the Rokinon / Samyang too, the cine versions are excellent for video for the price. I've just got an EF lens adapter for my NX and I am using EF Samyangs on it. Might be worth getting the EF version instead of the NX, will hold its value better I reckon and more adaptable to other systems,

i had the opteka, its not a very sharp lens at all. I would recommend the nikkor 85mm f2.0 ai, its a very nice and sharp lens for not so much money.

Rokinon 85 is not just amazing for the price, but in general.

NX1user got a reaction from Elpeos in NX1 16-50S Manual focus assist
I haven't had that problem with my 16-50 S. Maybe try adjusting the peaking strength, I have mine set on high.
Also, the focus peaking isn't stripes, the stripes are for exposure. Focus peaking is outlines around objects or where dark areas meet light areas. I switched my focus peaking to red so I wouldn't confuse it with the white stripes of the exposure function.

The more days go by without a video of real test footage, the more skeptical I am about this product. Seriously, the people on this forum know that a demo video could be put together in less than a day. There must be some issue with the gimbal or manufacturing.

Nice work there! I did the 48hr film project with some friends a couple months ago, so I know how challenging that is.

What camera and lens set up were you using? How much did it weigh?

I've had this issue pop up too. What's weird is that it doesn't seem to be consistent. But, as Jacob said, using the presets is a workaround.

NX1user reacted to Andrew Reid in New EOSHD setup guide gives Samsung NX1 LOG capability and more
The LOG LUT was actually developed in Resolve so of course, it works there too. The point of a LUT is that it works everywhere!
Yes - set input LUT as GammaDR 2 LOG, then output LUT of your choice.
The 16-50 S has an AF/MF switch on the barrel doesn't it... so that is why! Nice lens.
A LUT is not just a flat curve it has far more data than that in it. Not had any banding issues with it. Can't speak for AviSynth, but it is unlikely to develop footage in the professional way a colourist app like Resolve does, which is how I created the LUT.
Great, awesome to hear people are finding it useful.
Yes that's correct for Premiere. You can even use Film Convert with it rather than an output LUT.
You set the input LUT to GammaDR2LOG.
Then apply Film Convert to same clip. Select A7S and SLOG2 +1 profile, seems a good fit. Then tweak contrast & saturation to your preference.

You can get adapters so you can mount your Canon lenses on the NX1.
