  1. I agree with you, and I hope samsung goes on, by adding many (most? All?) the very useful features we suggested in the other thread here (and that you probably passed onto samsung). In video, cropped 4k (like nx500 has) would be a VERY nice alternative option, selectable on the fly during video like a sort of digital zoom. This would also reduce jello (at the expense of course of thin dof). But there are many others, like slog and more.
  2. Great Celli! Looking fwd to your work. I'm Italian (as your two idols are) and I grew up with their movies. +1 for you!
  3. Dean, thx when you say that you prefer it set to zero, you are referring to which of the settings mentioned?
  4. When you don't want to edit or grade, but just take footage ooc, which are the most 'real life' settings for nx1? And which ones for the most 'cinematic'? I have a lot of difficulties in achieving decent colors, in video.
  5. The ant does not look in focus, on my screen..
  6. Perhaps it can't readout the sensor fast enough.
  7. I think that nx1 has a lot of inexpressed potential that could be unleashed via fw update. Perhaps the rumored 6k video (for limited time), or a real s-log profile. I hope samsung starts running even faster now that sony released this monster. One thing is getting clear, samsung does not want to compete with ff. It wants to be king of apsc.
  8. The 'real' 1.31 is finally out today, with remote samsung studio!!!!
  9. As per request of the OP on DPR, I ask the mod to delete this thread. Thx.
  10. Wow, cool results ;-) I wonder how other cameras would have fared in this test (5d, gh4, nx1...).
  11. Please refer to the full thread as well: http://***URL removed***/forums/post/55907633
  12. That's what a dpr user just did:
  13. I have three c/y lenses that I still didn't test on nx1. They are 28/2.8, 50/2 and 135/2.8.
  14. I never buy used high end cameras, but I agree that with nx1 you can find some great deals. It is still very underrated despite the great reviews and users' experience. Btw, I paid a total price of about 1650€ for the combo of nx1 and 16-50s, new, but separate (I bought the 16-50 at launch, long ago, at a friend's shop and the nx1 four months ago). I would not be able to buy at this price, now.
  15. Unfortunately it seems to me that even the great nx1 is difficult to resell, like previous nx cameras. I hope you succeed w/o loosing too much.
  16. I don't like D. That's imo the worst, especially in the first two scenes. A and B are close, with A more 'cinematic' and B sharper. C has probably the best contrast in scene 2 but I still prefer A and B. So I'd say A, B, B (with B,A,A close seconds, C third place in every scene).
  17. Nope, I was referring to the expensive S lenses. The pz kit is good, but far from the S.
  18. Considering that the nx 45mm can do 12mp on a 20mp old camera (nx20), I wouldn't be surprised if it could resolve 16+ mp on the 28mp sensor. The 16-50s zoom is very sharp and the 50-150s is as sharp or even sharper.
  19. As a very cheap yet decent alternative, I like the manfrotto compact action with joystick head.
  20. Sekhar, thx for your reply. Actually I (and others) notice how the colors of raw imported in LR appear flat and dull, due to the lack of a camera profile for nx1 (something existing for nikons or canons). Browsing in the internet I found the site I linked where they explain how to build camera specific profiles, to be used as a starting point. If you read there, they suggest a couple of conditions in which to take pics of the color checker. I'd really like someone to do that and send me the resulting profile file (or even the pics of the color chart made with nx1). Thx in advance if you can help.
  21. Yes there was a site but I don't find its url. If I do, I'll post it here. Btw, Not video related, but I think that it would be very useful if someone with a color checker could try the following procedure and share the resulting files for nx1: http://bit.ly/1Hsc27K Thx in advance to anybody willing to help.
