  1. Since I sold my MFT BMCC, I no longer need this lens. $350. I would consider a trade + me kicking in cash for a Sigma 18-35 or a Rokinon Cine DS (24, 35, 50, 135) Nikon mount. I also have a Viewfactor BMCC cage for sale as well.

    What lenses for NX1

Geoff, Which Nikon G adapter did you get?

    What lenses for NX1

D'oh! Thanks for pointing that out for the Sigma. For the Rokinons it's not an issue, right?
  4. Hey everybody, I sold my MFT BMCC and bought and Matt's NX1. I also plan on possibly buying a Ursa Mini too. So I'm looking to buy lenses that I can use on both, so that means EF mounts, right? I had been thinking the Sigma 18-35 and then Rokinon DS 50, 85 & 135 to cover most everything. Thoughts? I believe Ed David uses Nikons with his NX1...
  5. I bought it. Thanks Matt!
  6. DigitalEd, I see banding on cable all the time, but that's compressed for delivery. I can guarantee you that no show has that banding when it leaves post. DirectTv was especially bad. FIOS is much better for me now. But the footage I've downloaded from the NX1 suffers from it much worse than A7S, GH4 & BMCC footage that I download; particularly in the shadows. Brother's videos look fantastic. He's modest, he's shoot some of the best NX1 footage to date. The camera has nice colors, but the banding in the transcoded footage is significant. However, I am thrilled that he says it's not on the original H265. It means my complaints can be addressed with better transcoding.
  7. Brother, Very nice stuff as usual. You're really making me want this camera. Thank you for saying there is no banding / macroblocking on the original footage. Hallelujah!!! The transcoding will be figured out at some point.
  8. neosushi, So no (or minimal) macroblocking in the H265. That means it's in the conversion - whew! Will someone please please please do a nice test with this camera and a 7Q+ or Shogun...?
  9. Crazy to see the macroblocking in the lighter to white. I was used to (and dismayed) seeing in in the dark portions of shots. Albert Fast's video are nice examples. Lovely shots and color, but the macroblocking is readily evident. Andrew, you're the man with all the toys... Do you see this macroblocking when using the NX1 with the Shogun?
  10. I hope DPreview is wrong about the difference.
  11. Will someone please post some more NX1 footage recorded on the Shogun or 7Q? Andrew, I'm looking at you... The WhiteStyle clip DigitalEd linked, as he said was not the greatest, it doesn't exhibit the banding that the internally recorded footage seems to suffer from.
  12. I'm super curious if the Shogun footage exhibits the same banding in the dark portions the internally recorded footage does.
  13. Winter Sun is very nice looking. But even after downloading it, There is banding in the darker scenes. Around :07 in the door, 0:17 to the right of the branch and the fade out almost posterizes. I'm hoping this is a result of Albert not having Premiere set properly - the same banding issue Andrew wrote of not long ago. Oh, btw, what was that comment Andrew made about what's happening with th GH4?
  14. I'd love to see any new footage, especially of Lisbon ;)
