I am not sure if this has been mentioned on here but I gotta admit I'm impressed by the dynamic range. It doesn't look sharp at all, but I would be happy with this
Yeah it's been mentioned before. I believe it uses the 1080p60 mode to create a HDR 1080p30 video. The difference is not that big though, in the first comparison the HDR mode is underexposed compared to the normal one. The car scene shows the difference better.

Very nice colors, fasza lett :P

No, but it's 1s and 0s; anything is possible, somebody just has to figure it out.
Yeah that would make life so much easier, that's why it's interesting that we still don't have that after 7 years of ML developement. There must be a good reason for that.

You 3:1 compress it.
Is RAW compression even possible with current builds of ML?

If ML crack this baby, i'll be all over it.
1080/60p raw and 13.5 stops would be fine by me.
Yeah but how do you write ~200MB/s to a CompactFlash card?

I have a hard time finding a new one in the EU with the dropped price. I guess B&H stock won't last long either.

@The Chris image looks beautiful even at 1080 ! Is it just me or does the motion cadence look terrible
Indeed, it does look terrible. Let's see some more tests though.

A 6K readout does not automatically mean massive jello, it depends how fast they scan it.
Yeah, let's see, but I have my doubts. Even Samsung's tech could not do a fast enough scan, and we all agreed that the NX1 was ahead of it's time.
-
I fear it will have massive jello though... full readout on a ~6K sensor, we've seen it on the NX1.

If anyone had the chance to try both, how does the FS700 RAW color science look like compared to the 5D3 RAW?

The thing to ask IMO is : Is the FS700 a good camera for my uses ?
I think this is what John tries to decide. I wonder about the same thing he does, so if someone could give a detailed answer to this question, it would be most helpful:

Result is, Canon LOG gives more DR. Cinestyle just gives a LOG image with no DR increase over Neutral/Faithful with -4 Contrast. So what's the point? It was made to make the Canon DSLR footage easily intercut with Film footage and high end cinema cameras. It also gives compatibility with LOG LUTs and so on. IT IS a LOG mode, it gives a logarithmic tone distribution but it's just 10-11 stops vs C-LOG that offers more by accessing earlier sensor data stream.
Is this true to Nikon cameras as well? I used Flaat 11 on my D5200 many times, but never really compared it's DR to tweaked Standard/Neutral. I can't check it now, but I wonder if there is any real advantage.

Ahhh....yes. Buying a $6,000 camera to take cat videos.
You might feel that you have a choice, but cats are on the way to world domination. Just sayin.

+1 for what Andrew said. Samsung does NOT want ppl to improve nx1 and to add long time requested features they never cared to add.
I wonder why. It's not like they could just re-enter the camera business.

If that marginal difference in image quality were more important than features, than why not go ursa mini 4.6k raw, which has even better image, color, and codec.
Well it's not a hybrid and that magenta issue doesn't look good. I think it's not even officially acknowledged yet.

Judging only by all the videos linked on the forum, all the great things in the 1DX II image are unfortunately destroyed IMO by terrible and abrupt highlight clipping in high contrast situations. The one on that girl's hair looks especially ugly.
I agree, I haven't seen a high contrast image from this camera that I really liked. I hope people who already have it will experiment with tweaked camera profiles and show us the results C-Log is something we might not get here.

There are a few shots in the "Forest" clip that are plain beautiful, especially the CU of her hands touching the plants.
Exciting camera.
I tried to ignore the pixel binned image and failed.

They don't acknowledge it? Demonstrations like this show it's undeniably there:

btw... is filming someone welding/cutting metal the high end equivalent of making a "cat in the garden" demo video?
It is indeed. Find yourself a guy cutting metal AND put some cats in the background and you'll have an unbeatable demo valued by everyone.

I'm considering an 5D3, does anyone know how many minutes of 1080p24 RAW you can shoot with the original battery?
-
True, I was wondering the same...

Some new stuff:
You can find an ungraded version on Vimeo, but it does not play here for some reason:

Aaand it's back to 3190 GBP. I wonder what's the reason behind these huge changes.
1DX Mk II video

He was talking about details and details only. So if you're top priority is details for some reason, the real world results will show the same. The 1DXMKII is considerably softer. This is just a fact, no need to defend the 1DXII, as it obviously outperforms the A6300 in many other ways.
