How long is the delay? 1 week? 1 month? 1 quarter?Unfortunately I'm still not allowed to spill the beans.
The announcement is delayed!
Will be worth waiting for though. -
What were the shutter speed and the ISO?
-
Downloaded a new VLC update today and it now plays fine.
-
Nice. Please kindly share your settings if you don't mind.
-
Pricing is reasonable if the quality of the music is decent.
-
VLC (latest version) couldn't play on my rMBP. But Chrome played it fine. Strange.

Beautiful. So the GH4 is a real workhorse for someone who knows what he/she is doing. I'm still learning it.
-
$399 and I am sold.
-
So it sure is not Canikon or another big company. Probably Metabones or maybe SLR Magic has something up their sleeves. Ok... I'll stop prying, just one question... How much is it?? :P
If you have to ask, you can't afford it.

Maybe it's a variable speedbooster: 0.5x to 0.71x! :D

In 2 years you will have to have 8k.
Yep. That's why we need VP9 now. :)
-
In two years, many people will have 4k screens.

So what do guys like me do now?
I shoot a lot of wedding video's, and clients often want to pick their own music of choice. Often it's a song that means something to them.
Does this mean I can no longer upload this film to Vimeo? What is the alternative?
I cannot contact all the big record labels for all the wedding video's I do that at most 300 people will watch, right?
Don't upload to Vimeo. Just hand over the video in an SD card or USB stick and let the couple worry about the copyrights.

Wow. How was this done? I have yet to shoot this dark without noise piling up on the GH4.
-
Such a camera would cost all those cameras combined. :D
-
Indeed, every camera has its quirks and limitations. So which camera to get depends heavily on what one does.
-
If it does AF and IS and sells for no more than $400, it will be on the top of my shopping list.
-
Now if Vimeo provides the option of paying for a licence fee for sync'ing, say with a minimum flat fee + a percentage cut from tip jar or whatever, that'll make a lot of people happier.
-
Still, it's good to have good choices.
-
Sounds exciting. The only question is how much will it cost? :)

After less than a week of playing with the GH4, I have to say that this thing is quite capable but definitely not a point-and-shoot camera. You need to know what you are doing and I haven't quite figured out what exactly I have to do every time I shoot.
I hope there will be a GH4 shooter's guide soon. :)

I produce all my own music , and I also comission (pay for ) new original music from other producers and writers.I dont ever use any music I dont now own or have a license to use.
I do that too. Yet my videos still get flagged! My last archive of a concert of Handel's Messiah excerpts received roughly 10 copyright claims.

Shouldn't the company be liable for resources wasted as a result of making false matches?

How about MIDI tracks of classical music, where the computer is the performer. Anyone know of any good MIDI resources for the written music where copyright has expired, and a good app to take the basic notation and turn it into something more interesting than a series of bleeps?
Most classical music MIDI sucks.
Try musopen for public domain RECORDINGS of classical music. The performances are not all of the same quality. But there are quite a few gems.

You can't get both?
BTW, what would be a decent contrast-reducing filter for the GH4?
