NX500 Grade
In: Cameras
The white part of the shirt is burned - even before grade, and the shadow on it has some blue cast.

Hi,
Few hours before flying to Austria, I got the Sony RX100 IV. Had to learn it on the go, this was a family vacation, so didn't bring any helping tool (slider etc), all hand held shots.
Becasue most of the shots were done in strong day light, chose profile PP6 and not PP7 (Slog2). In the end, it was a pleasure taking this camera: non weight almost, and great results. Shot in 4K, exported in 1080p:

And you were talking about the G7 which is 700$ body, not 1200$.
-
Which phone?
-
The GH4 does DCI 4k in addition to UHD, right? What about the G7? According to B&H this does only UHD, which I find very odd
You find it odd that a 700$ camera don't have DCI?... amateurs don't need it.

Looks like they are similar indeed, but crop factor in 4K is bigger on the GX8.

In several places, its been said that the G7 sensor is similar to the one in GF7 model and not the GH4.
I wonder what changes in quality we may see.

Same experience as I had with this camera. I was thrilled by the wonderfull stybelizer system, the new back screen and new features, seems like almost perfect camera. And then tested it in video... so soft, moire all over the place. Why??? How come they managed to downgrade video quality so much?
-
Ebrahim, what bit rates do you record with the Micro SD?

Jerusalem - the holy city in 4K video:

I wonder how much improvement will bring the XAVC-S alone, compare to the A6000.

Where are the 15.3 promised stops?

Good news, shame about the missing mic input.
Does the Nikon D5300 have a Sony or Toshiba sensor? The D5200 has a Toshiba for sure.
-
Looks like they put all their development money on the inside, and kept the same body.
-
No, putting different specs into the same hands will not change anything, and you hardly will notice any difference in IQ, especially on the web,
if only buying Christopher Doyle camera would make me Christopher Doyle,
that would be nice.
Yes and no, From technical point of view, for example, if I know that the camera is able to produce 10 bit color and 4:2:2, then I will sit down and learn about it, see the possibilities that it gives me, and eventually get a better results.
Or, If I know that I have a good tool for focusing, like focus peaking, then it will push me to buy more manual good lenses.
-
Also some Footage or only text? :-)
-
We haven't seen any footage, you're right, but the specs are for sure.
I am just wondering, putting this kind of specs into amatures hands (and pro's as well), is it going to raise up the bar in fields like indie films, video clips and even youtube short films.
-
As the Panasonic GH4 is going to introduce 4K Filming, 10 bit 4:2:2 and all other features as focus peaking etc, Do you think its is going to change the standard of videoing? the level of tech quality for amatures?
-
In IQ its not better than GH3 or G6, in features it is better than G6 (Headphones out, ND filter), but not from GH3 that has better body for pro use (eventhough GH3 does not have built in ND filter).

Yes indeed, I just shot it today, this time without iResolution and almost no moire at all.
These are original files from camera - no post proccesing.
