1. /Edit: Uploaded new video with correct contrast.

Here you go. Not the best test situation, had to go to iso 800 to shoot at f/2.8.
Included some footage I shot before as well in the end (with 12-35mm X)
Didn't bother to include +5 contrast, probably nobody wants that anyway.

I used a 50mm Minolta MD Rokkor f/1.7 @ f/2.8 which I bought for €5 on eBay. You get some free moire included. Safe to say More is not a 12-35mm X only thing.

Settings:
1080P MOV ALL-I 72Mbit
25 fps
50mm Minolta MD f/1.7 @ f/2.8
ISO 800
1/50 sec

I left out the Custom profile. It just saves one of the other profiles with your contrast/sharpness preferences as a preset. It's not a different profile.

Here some HQ Screengrabs straight from Sony Vegas:

2. Anamorphic prices are confusing and frustrating. Pretty hard to put a value onto something unless you know every single lens. I've learned from experience... Bought a huge cheap projection lens, but still way to expensive for what it is (absolutely useless). Bought another bit smaller projection lens for more money.. Quality is great, usability isn't. Probably paid more than its worth. Finally I found a Kowa B&H, I think I got it for a pretty good price.. But I have no idea what the actual value is.

Oh well, that's life on eBay I guess :)

3. Dead horse question perhaps, but does the custom profile show any significant changes in dialing the contrast back manually? Or, did they listen to the wrong filmmakers.. Lol.

Dialing down (or up) the contrast definitely shows significant changes. Not only in the custom mode. I can make a sample video tonight.

Andrew, I am guessing, that, there appear to be High Key, Retro, etc, in the picture, as well as, the video profiles.

(they come within CREATIVE CONTROL heading)

This is the url Charlie pasted, above.

I see. I'll check the video modes under creative control. I don't expect it to be usefull, the creative mode is probably everything auto. It's just the fancy filter mode. Don't expect the 'high dynamic' mode to be flat, it will probably be very contrasty/over saturated/hdr-lookalike.

4. Could you please shoot some footage in the High Dynamic "picture style" or "profile"? I understand that's the most dynamic range you can get from the camera and it'd be nice to see how it performs in a raw video out of the GH3.

There is no High Dynamic profile.

These are the picture profiles: standard/vivid/natural/monochrome/scenery/portrait/custom.

12mm f2 will be delicious on the bmc plse let us have a ef m4/3 adapter!?
Impossible. Te EF mount has a much longer distance from lens to sensor than m43, you cannot make the distance shorter with an adapter. An adapter could be possible but it would need lenses to correct the distance, that makes it kinda pointless (quality loss). That's why a m43 mount BMCC is quite a big deal...

Now the BMCC supports Image Stabilisation the Tamron 17-50mm 2.8 or 24-70mm 2.8 might be interesting options if you want to work handheld.

Samyang is working on a 10mm prime for aps-c-sensors (non fisheye), could be interesting if you don't want/need zoom.
6. Well, as long as there are good arguments, it just comes down to personal preferences.
Germy can say the GH2 is the best, but if you care for 1080p60 a weather sealed body, audio out and clean hdmi out the GH3 is better... I'd agree on Germy that the GH2 is the best value for money right now.
7.
i have to admit the Gh3 might not be the best Right now
What would be the best video dslr right now?

A Canon 5D III beats a GH3 in low light for sure and has better dynamic range, but no 1080p60. I'm pretty sure it has less detail in video and it's three times as expensive.

Even with the GH3 being twice the price of the GH2, I can't think of anything else that beats it price/performance wise.
8. To clarify that: If Panasonic wouldn't think it was representative the GH3 wouldn't be send out to big groups of reviewers. It is right now. It is even being used by the public in test events organized by Panasonic in cooperation with magazines. Without any restrictions on publishing the material. Usually when companies send out pre production samples reviewers are not allowed to publish full resolution shots, or there should be clear mentions of the fact that it is preproduction.

Anyway, even in those cases, in general the difference in picture quality from preproduction and final production cameras are negligible. Final firmware tuning is mostly about stability etc. It's not realistic to think moire is going to disappear with a firmware upgrade or in a final production camera.
9. Canon didn't really raise the prices but is going to enforce the Minimum Advertised Prices: http://www.canonrumors.com/2012/11/canons-map-pricing-goes-into-full-effect-today/

That does mean things are getting more expensive though.

I doubt canon and the likes will respond to this at all. Not with the current line up I think. Maybe with new products.. But when? The cinema lineup is fairly new..
10. @Sanveer: No, like I said, it only works with lower bitrates. Not in any 50/60 fps mode either.

@galenb: I don't know what you're comparing it to, but it seems to be on par with the OM-D, which has the best m43 sensor so far. It doesn't lag behind apsc sensors anymore.

Also, There isn't any proper raw support from the GH3 yet, I don't like judging quality on jpg.
11. EXTC does work. At least on my firmware 0.5 test sample it does. Here you go:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xgG2v0Gq6ms

For your list:

1080p60
Substantially Improved photo quality
72mbit mov
Time code display

I don't think bulkier/heavier is a complaint for most people. It's much better built quality.

What the hell is the "high dynamic range" sensor doing differently here exactly...
It delivers photos with a much higher dynamic range than the GH2. Does the Nikon D800 provide 14 stops of dynamic range in video? I doubt it. It does when you shoot raw pictures at base iso.
