  1. Here's a site I found that had the Russian lenses such as Helios and Jupitors.. http://top35mm.com/ I bought canon 50mm for my GH2, excellent quality. But, will be the last photography lens I buy, going for cinema lenses now, I primarily and majority shoot for cinema than I do photography. What camera do you have and what side are you more for photography or cinematography? If cinematography I would start buying newer lenses vs. vintage, those with new coating, and elements, and geared for cinema
  2. Great comparison, you really do your research and testing before buying! I own the GH2 and do a little bit of photography and whole lot of cinematography and filming as Hobby not pay. The footage on unhack and hack GH2 is a 10 for me.. The photo quality for me with GH2 is about a 8... I have to play with it more as I upgraded to the GH2 from an Olympus E-420 10mp DSLR (beginner). At about 1:1 crop the compression of the photo, at 16mp, Fine Compression, looks a little muddy than crispy as my olympus did which had fewer pixels.... I hoping with some purchases of the higher grade Panasonic lenses, the picture quality will be much better.
  3. Hey, I was just about to tell him about DFocus systems.. They'll the cheapest but they products looking good. I'm going to go with them For my Matte Box and rig.
  4. IF all your using the camera for is Instructional video, getting an ILC camera would be a waste of money, potential, and pointless, you want to save money, you can buy a $300 camera for that purpose.. $1000 for a camera for this single purpose just make my mind melt. Now a lavalier mic is RIGHT for this purpose and they can get up in price a little, I would focus your money to the audio... Shotgun mic and Lavalier mic and go for cheap HD camera, preferably non interchangeable.. Consumer Camcorder.. These would be more ideal for this.
  5. Looks a bit much.. What other cool gadgets have you created for the GH2 or in the works of? -Battery grip? -any rigs? -A rig with accessible mounting for Battery charger to be mounted for connection with dc coupler battery would be nice and accessible mounting for Zoom or other external audio capturing device and shotgun mic..
  6. Yes, Edelkrone rigs look good! my budget for a rig, and i only need one for starters, would be $600 or less.. for which my choices are: - Edelkrone pocket rig http://www.edelkrone.com/the-pocket-rig/ - Edelkrone Modular 3 and I'll buy rods later.... http://www.edelkrone.com/modula3/ - D/Focus Cine Bundle camera support with rod, follow focus and Matte box http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/871300-REG/D_Focus_Systems_302_Cine_Bundle_Camera_Support.html OR - D/Focus Austin Rig Bundle http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/871304-REG/D_Focus_Systems_403_Austin_Rig_Bundle.html
  7. Thanks, preview on screen (not using Tele mode) looks so fine and subtle, (At night) before recording and then color temp shifts slightly as well as noise and grain.. But i'm used to it now.. I love my GH2.. Probably won't get the GH3, I haven't seen any significant difference in its specs from 43 rumors.. I do like the weather sealed body, zoom rocker on body, Headphone jack, Thats It..
  8. My 2 Fav BRANDS: Apple & Panasonic

  9. In the pic above, are you going to get a Step down ring for the FD lens? This is still looking very Tempting, thinking I will get one, or a rig by D Focus systems, they have some at same price... Can you post some youtubes or vimeo vids with the rig please!!
  10. Where is that, I drive 50 to 60 miles a week from my house to see my girlfriend in Baltimore, so a drive to meet up with some with a Panasonic Lumix is nothing..
  11. Hey guys, I'm like a lonely GH2 shooter in Clinton MD, I want to find other videographers, cinematographers and photographers in the area! PARTICULARLY with Panasonic cameras!! Go to check out MOVIES!!! I'm a movie fan!!! I own Gh2 for 3 months now, shot 2 vids so far. 12. http://www.edelkrone.com/ I wanted to get their pocket rig and their modular 5... I don't care to much about spending much on RIGS... this is only only filming equipment i have a low budget for.. I leave my expensive budget for LENSES, CRANE/JIB, and CINESTAR 6 Anyone else with an Edelkrone???
  13. WOW! just like Andrew said, ALL THAT FOR $400!!! I'm focus my money on quality lenses and cheaping out on the RIGS.. the only other rigs I saw getting were by these guys!!! http://www.edelkrone.com/
  14. So for those with FCPX like myself, How can one recover the grey in between white and black for the DR, when Quicktime screw our GH2 footage.. I like the Input and Output tool wit the range, reminds me of editing photos with Aperature or iPhoto.. But FCPX doesn't have this kind of editing of exposure or I haven't found it yet..
  15. Hey still learning my GH2, my first HDSLR.. just left the pro consumer camcorder world.. Has anyone noticed the gamma shift once record button is pressed and it seems like the color temp is warmer and ruff than what is first viewed when not recording... any comments about this... also will Panasonic make any underwater housings for the GH2 for underwater filming.?? Is Panasonic still making option parts for the GH2...
