  1. If we will say they've succeeded to cripple their hardware without proper heat dissipation design, can we properly stand it then? LOL ;- )
  2. I support myself and my craft and who helps me to pay the bills. Read @BTM_Pix posts before you still support whatever point you've decided so... PS: Ah you've finally decided then... Funny you agree with him! You remind me politicians, you'd surely succeed to be one! : D
  3. I am also puzzled about that as matter of fact. And curious. First question I had... How do they manage dust? The fact our most reputable engineer among us and BTW my supplier too @BTM_Pix : ) did not drop a single word on topic speaks fairly enough to me ;- )
  4. I understand and fully share your concern. But: I just don't like to see anonymous aliases to amuse themselves to bash Canon. This is not helpful. One thing is fair criticism, the other one is without previous experience with a tool starting to guess about it. If I'd have a crystal ball I'd be billionaire. I am not engineer but I can fairly guess Tilta has high qualified engineers to design their products. They are a trustful provider. If they announce something, I'd delude myself if I would listen naysayers rather than people who help my craft. Moreover, no one is expecting a miraculous solution. This is not all about that. And I see people without the necessary filmmaking experience in certain styles/segments of our craft to negatively/improperly infer this R5/R6 or this or that workaround won't work out. WOW Without ever testing it! This naysayerism is absolutely inaccurate and counterproductive.
  5. I am a filmmaker, not engineer. You? Tilta has proven to offer good quality service BTW... Filmmakers trust on their suppliers.
  6. I am bald : D I just see a lot of posters without necessary practical experience in the filmmaking... Gosh People in the field ARE used to get COMPETENT workarounds virtually in a whole daily basis :- ) This is part of the craft... This capture device can be very helpful if certain adaptations will be proved to be efficiently adopted. This is not B&W : ) It only depends on goodwill the brand has shown to fail once again for obvious business reasons; ...and talent to positively look for way outs. Not the customary yadda yadda between fanboys and bashers. Phew.
  7. This can be a useful specialised tool, not a workhorse, with: 1) https://tilta.com/2020/07/tiltaing-camera-cage-for-canon-r5/ 2) https://www.indiatoday.in/technology/news/story/canon-designs-additional-adapter-to-fix-canon-eos-r5-overheating-issue-1705356-2020-07-28 3) Update to lift up their firmware limitations.
  8. There are workarounds at the hardware level, they can implement though ;- ) About the time to wait for having the camera back to full capabilities back shorter than 6+ hour long? This can be fixed by firmware.
  9. No, it's not like that : ) Take a look on that video report already posted in this thread twice! Nothing about the overheating now. Of course, this is related to hardware, design and lack of heat dissipation. It's all about the firmware on their imposed limitations and time to give full capabilities back. 6+ hours long !! Are they kidding us?? @herein2020 you beat me for a couple of minutes! ;- )
  10. Seems crippled by the firmware in order to protect their high-end, so let's be optimistic they will stop to be jerks and give us what the technology is able for to begin with. This cat-mouse game does NOT dignify the brand. As good customer of theirs (aside cameras, we are currently using a C500 in a feature film + three short films to be shot in Santander, Spain and I still have 2x units of a large format printer as workhorses, let alone another half-dozen of Canon units around), I expect a change.
  11. Already posted a few pages back. If they won't address it, they're shooting their own feet. It doesn't make ANY sense. It is even plain ridiculous. And it is not noble for the brand. They could have fixed, they candidly didn't want it. It doesn't matter how loyal we are to or dislike Canon, it is simply true.
  12. I am not a loner cowboy. Last time I checked the film crews I've participated we had created a few dozens I've produced, among other stuff where I try my best. If you'll follow my signature or even my posts, you'll find what you're looking for. I see where you're coming from but you ask without any business card? This is a random triple portion of mine: Where are yours BTW?
  13. It doesn't mean you don't have a point you actually have. They still cripple it anyway. Overheating is there for purpose. They didn't want to write a different plot. Their effort, if any, is far to be enough.
  14. Nah, there are obviously limits they impose either at zero care for proper heat dissipation or not letting the full camera capability extend it to their own boundaries. Go a few posts back in this same page and follow the video report I posted (for some reason I did it), before to start inferring anything.

    Low light

Well, there's a difference between low light and no light... ; ) Nothing we can't handle with fast glass and modern sensors, even going along a small size such as MFT is : ) I've handled live music concerts very well, though, I don't feel need much else further. I am a nocturnal shooter anyway. Ten years ago I was already taking the smaller format factor of a GH1 on behalf of my 5DII, even for stills any time. Night shots. Good fast glass is your friend and makes the whole trick. Without mention a slower shutter speed option route when needed but that's also because fits the shooting style of my bill. Different strokes for different folks. Marketing is a bit slow to catch me yet :- D
  16. Indeed, I believe a workaround is anyhow inevitable. It doesn't make any sense, otherwise.

    Low light

I never go above ISO 3200 on my P4K with two stops of difference in-between, go figure! :- D
  18. LOL This is a real user's experience from real world... :- )

    Low light

PS: The same applies for the previous a7s series generation(s)... ;- )

    Low light

This is pretty much everything I need, even though, P4K or GH5s as you wish fills the cup (no need looking for any new extra capture device to arrive there): Abraço Francisco! (E :- )
  21. It's yet too early to know if we've failed in this long waiting... ; -)
  22. Absolutely. You know why I put the R5 on the table? 8K > 6K -> large format for hybrid use 4K 120fps IBIS AF Because art is also opportunity and the right tool is the one you can have with you and use it. If for some reason, you won't be able to get that shot just fine, goes right away to the basket. E : -)
  23. X-T4? And doesn't you face any sort of overheating as people report especially going on with slow motion? It only works with EF lenses... Looks like they can extend glass sales for new adopters ; -)
