  1. Dunno, I just thought technicolor when I saw it. Actually, looking at real technicolor I prefer that. Like Marilyn Monroe here.
  2. Looks a bit like technicolor, but not in a romantic retro Hepburn kind of way. But it's definitely saturated.
  3. Daven, Those were great videos. Thanks for posting here so I could find them! I am super pumped we'll be getting V-LOG, now I have to find an anamorphic lens.
  4. Nikon uses Sony sensors and Canon is in consideration to use Sony sensors in future cams as well. The question I have is who makes the Panasonic Varicam S35 Sensor?
  5. agree with the above posts on the closing credits, they were cool. I fast forwarded through the junk to see them.
  6. Panasonic has great lens tech, and they're patented anti-onioning aspheric lens design is the future everyone will be emulating. I believe their sensor tech is only slightly behind Sony's currently, and ahead of Canon's.
  7. If anything, this is a huge opening for Nikon to stake a claim to the 4k/DSLR. I know, there's the 1DC, but that's a pretty small niche camera. Not sure they will, but it would definitely be a point of differentiation between the two heavyweight pro still shooting camera companies.
  8. That's fine with me, I don't shoot with Canon cameras anyway. They'll change their minds when sales shrivel up because pro stills shooters also shoot a lot of video. 4k video.
  9. Dodgy Colors from people not knowing what they are doing is definitely an issue. I'm old enough to remember secretaries all of a sudden being design experts because they got a new Macintosh on their desks. Overall, it's a win win. I'm willing to sift through the crap to find gold.
  10. The video looks fantastic. Alright, I was beginning to think we were going to have to wait for GH5 for V-Log.
  11. This thing looks fantastic. If it delivers on it's specs it's going to be a stunner.
  12. Well, it doesn't sound like something I would purchase, but I know for a fact there's a large market for this kind of camera in bread and butter television production if it uses an ENG style lens. News and Run and Gun shooters need to work fast and this seems to be a way one can do that, and still get a more cinematic look to the footage. A local TV station that uses this could potentially immediately up it's production value by a huge margin if they had a dozen of these to replace the small chip cams they are currently using.
  13. Could they be talking about a fixed lens MFT camcorder? It would blow away that canon fixed lens thingie just announced and with a great lens it would find a following. There's a market for that kind of camera. Maybe two versions, fixed lens, and an interchangeable lens version.
  14. The way I see it, in today's world with so many other options, there's very little reason to have a video shooting camera without an EVF and titling screen. The 5DMIV probably won't have either, and probably won't have 4k as well. Canon needs a Super 35 sensor mirrorless camera with EVF and 4k. This is the camera people need, and it won't step on their Full Frame DSLRs, but will kill them for 4k Video.
  15. 1. I want to see the new Panasonic AF100 successor, and have it share the same color profiles with the GH4 firmware update. 2. Would like to see something new in small/lightweight travel tripods with a fluid head. 3. some new handheld gimbals to replace a steadicam, useful for small DSLR's
  16. 2 FZ1000's and an LX100 will cover a lot more 4k holes and angles than this camera for less money and probably do a better job of it, especially in the LX100's case. But hey, this is a canon and as far as many are concerned it's the only camera out there. I'm just not seeing much of a point to this camera.. The C300 though, looks like a fantastic camera for it's intended market. Isn't the C100 going for 2900 right now? I'd jump on that before this, even without the 4k. When I first saw it I was thinking it would run around 1k to $1300 max.
  17. then you'll definitely not like the highlights on the NX1, which are worse.
  18. I'd put it somewhere just less than the GH4 in DR. looks closer to my GH2. Actually I'd say the NX1 is like a 4k GH2 with slightly better colors. Here's a test I saw online recently showing a DR comparison.
  19. I would like to see Clarkson do a show for someone like HBO or FX.
  20. I agree with Andrew that this should/could have been handled internally, but in today's social media world, nothing stays internal. Things go viral in an instant and cannot be controlled like in the past. Everyone seems to want to be a star, and puke their lives out there through Facebook, twitter, whatever. Clarkson's a jerk, at least on-air, everyone knows it, we don't know how much of a fight this was so it's hard to say. A punch could be anything from a small whack, to a huge knock-down brawl with guys rolling on the floor. We don't know yet do we? BBC was playing with fire for a long time with this guy. in the end it's all about MONEY. Personally, I loved to hate Clarkson and would miss him if in fact he's really gone. Somehow I doubt he will be.
  21. if they wait any longer the rest of the industry will be on to 2nd and 3rd gen offerings.
  22. My guess is they went back to the multi-aspect sensor so the crop factor won't change between 1080 and the two 4k modes. This is what the next GH camera should have as well.
  23. About the same sensor pixel density as a MFT camera. I'd be interested to see how they compare when you crop the 16 megapixel center out of the image.
  24. Canonrumors says Full HD, as opposed to the 720p they've been passing off as Full HD? Hey, a step in the right direction!
  25. It looks like Resolve is doing some kind of dithering? Have you checked maximum render quality in Premiere? I haven't noticed this problem lately with my videos in Premiere. I'm going to check this out when I get a chance.
