  1. As far as I am aware all native micro four thirds lenses will work as its an active mount. You control aperture by the camera, focus will be manual using the lens as theres no autofocus. And Is will work on the lens that has it. But there will be no auto correction of distortion and chromatic aberation like there are with mft stills cameras. As for FD adapter: and im sure there are others. As for the Metabones, I don't have any answers myself, but this thread on bmcuser talks about it if you haven't already seen it. http://www.bmcuser.com/showthread.php?16702-Pocket-speedbooster-doesn-t-fit-on-BMMC
  2. The screen tilts. Its the viewfinder that doesn't tilt.
  3. Its probably down-resing on your phone. I doubt if it will be streaming at native resolution. Could be wrong though.
  4. Can we record 60p internally and send 25 or 30p out the hdmi? I wouldn't have any need to actually monitor at 60p. As long as you can see what is being recorded, 30p would be fine.
  5. There's no reason why it would be, or should be any faster in 60p. If it's possible to scan the sensor in 10ms, then that appies regardless of how many times it has to scan it. The only thing we knew for certain it that it must be capable of 16.6ms because that is 1/60th of a second. 13.4ms seems like a decent all round figure though anyway.
  6. Is that just raw from the bmmcc youre talking about. How does prores hold up. If prores could almost match 5d3 raw then that would be an acheivment, especially at 60p.
  7. This vid purports to show the rolling shutter of the BMMCC. Dosn't actually seem that bad considering how fast he is moving.
  8. The "tweaking the ear of a hamster" analogy made me laugh.
  9. piqued* What I hope is that the moire is improved so I wont have to bother getting a mosaic filter.
  10. He has no rights to that footage whatsoever, you own full rights. If they disagree with that, tell them to talk to a solicitor. You dont have to do anything. Will he see a solicitor? will he fuck. And if he does he will be humbled by what they tell him. Very simple solution: Sell the raw files to him. (with written confirmation that you have full rights over your edit) He obviously wants them, so charge him what you think he will be willing to pay. Dont be stingy on yourself. ask for $500, $1000 or even more if they are rich. Alow them to bargain down. In the long run, you aren't going to need raw files of a shitty rock band so why not.
  11. You have to be joking even testing for a bandwidth issue if that is your connection. That upload destroyes about 99% of peoples download. You could probably live-stream 8k with that connection. Its like a member of a swat team walking down the street saying "well I dont see any muggers". Basically the data rate of a vimeo HD video is about 4.8 megabit per second. If your connection is always above that you will never see this issue. Lets say your downstream is only half that, you would clearly need to stop the video and let half of the video buffer. The maximum buffer is now only 20 seconds, so anyone with a connection slower than 2.4 meg will not be able to watch from beggining to end a HD video that is longer than 40 seconds. If yout connection is 3/4ths of 4.8 you will need to buffer a quarter of the video, which means anyone with a 3.6 meg connection will not be able to watch from beggining to end a HD video that is longer than 1 minutes 20 seconds. Trust me, speeds this low are not uncommon at all. many rural exchanges in the UK are limited to 2 meg.
  12. Desktop, but yeah ethernet connection. Its just the length of the telephone line from the exchange, though If I get fiber to the cabinet it will sort that out. Luckily I have a work around with the vimeo thing: I Just download it using a downloader.
  13. Try this speed out for size lol. Yeah, I dont think you ever have to wory about seeing this issue mate. Try this speed out for size:
  14. Perhaps your internet is too fast to see the issue. Mine is slow tonight so It made watching the Nomads of mongolia video impossible.
  15. If I play it imbedded it goes blurry, netflix style. If I go to vimeo it seems to stay HD, but still only buffers 20 seconds ahead max, at least for the last video I tried anyway. I'm in UK.
  16. As has been talked about before, vimeo have removed the ability to select resolution. I thought they had kept the ability, as when I click on HD I can select 1080p. But now for some reason it finds it acceptable to drop the actual resolution to less-than-SD super mush even though 1080p is still sellected. What the fuck! Before, I could sellect HD, and yes, I might have to wait a minute for it to buffer before it started. But at least I could watch the whole thing in full HD at the native resolution of my monitor. Now, not only does it drop the quality but it only buffers the video about 20 seconds ahead so as soon as I press play it will either catch up the buffer and stop or drop the res. Ruined!
  17. I'll give it a chance. They are obviously going full camp with it so at least it has no pretention of seriousness like most reboots. The thing that annoyed me most about this trailer was the incessant 'booming'. 'dun!', 'dun!' , 'dun!'. Right, we get it!

    Nikon DL

Absolutely! A lot of shots the are way oversharpened. However It seems like some shots that aren't sharpened though. The longer zoom landscape shots. Maybe it was filmed by several different people. Lets face it the lion cub shots were probably filmed in a zoo.

Mirrorless refers to the mirror, not the lens. These cameras don't have mirrors, so they are mirrorless. However, they aren't EVILs, MILCs or compact system cameras. (EVIL being my favourite for what the accepted term should be).
  20. I was talking more about inbuilt wifi remote control functionality.
  21. Exactly! If they put all that stuff in it would double the price and more importantly it would never be released because they would never finish it.
  22. Is it possible to turn the off the new audio notification of new comments? I obviously dont want the sound disturbing whatever im listening to in another tab. So am I now forced to close the eoshd tab completely?

Bear in mind that the M4/3 to E-mount adaptor rings (I have only seen one type available) are reported to lose infinity focus on certain lenses. So it looks like they are slightly thicker than they should be. I would imagine a speedbooster has to be pretty precise.
