  1. Yes. at 0:35 and 1:05 and also at 1:22. There is also some sort of strange macroblocking in a strip across the bottom of the frame throught the video which is particularly noticible at 0:57.
  2. So they are listening. This is what I put forward (among others probably). A half way house between bad detail and bad rolling shutter: acceptable both. Obviously its imposible to eliminate aliasing with line skipping but perhaps it isn't as bad as before? It will be very interesting to see tests of this. The sound with 120fps is also realy cool.
  3. Oh yeah, I must have miss remembered. 422 is what I should have said. That puts another dampener on it then.
  4. Its 1040 grams. Not quite as light as they would like to make out. The RX10 is 813g and manages a constant 2.8 lens. There are many things I like about the XC10. 1040g all-in is good for a 10 bit 4k log image with viewfinder, IS and autofocus. But the lens puts too much of a dampener on it for me. f5.6 is just too dim for indoor use.
  5. So how is this avoided then besides not shooting on grass? Is every other camera automatically compensating for the green?
  6. Sorry that was s-log not v-log.

  8. Dave Dugdales face looks all green in the next video shot with vlog as well.
  9. Yeah, that could be it. Hopefully.
  10. Have you seen the LOG test footage from the camera store's "Panasonic GH4 Anamorphic Firmware Field Test " Video? From 5:53 the footage (which was filmed with the Log test firmware) shows horrible ugly greeny yellowy areas of colour in the shadow areas of people's skin. I wondered if they had messed up the grade, But I took a grab of the ungraded footage and it apears the greeny yellow is there to start with. Is it the sensor that's doing this? The panasonic colour science? How could someone think this looks good? Do you think your luts would solve this issue?
  11. Once again a company advertises a 4k camera with a 720p video. What is the point of 4k again? As for the film, pretty entertaining. Sort of a modern TV show feel to it, in both the story and the image. Not quite as cinema as an alexa but getting there. One bad artifact I noticed was the red exit sign when they walk into the bar. Chroma subsampling perhaps?
  12. It could be Micra yet. A camera specifically disgned to be mounted to a nissan micra.
  13. Looks like a canon dslr. Good colour, mushy details.
  14. "argue on the forum". I like that. Very fitting. This is my argument. You state in the article that the rolling shutter will be the same because its reading out twice as many lines. But the C300 had a native 4k sensor not a HD one. It used 4 photosites for each output pixel, which would have been a 4k readout. So if the readout is twice as fast, is likely that it will actually make an observable difference.

Good! Thats one less camera to think about. You don't have to wonder about a log profile by firmware update if they cant even deliver a frame rate over 15fps.
  16. Its a higher reduction than the regular one. o.58 instead of 0.71. But as can be seen here on the table half way down the page, http://www.metabones.com/products/details/MB_SPEF-BMPCC-BM1 It warns that it may cause physical damage if mounted to a normal micro four thirds camera. The bmc speed booster on the otther hand (at 0.64) aparently wont damage but has a smaller image circle. So full frame will vignette, but 4k crop will probably not.
  17. In terms of ergonomics this has got me interested. Rotating grip makes sense: With a normal still camera grip either your wrist is tilted or your elbow is out to the side when you have the camera to your face. But if you are holding at arms lengh you need the regular camera grip. The viewfinder, whether its an evf, or as someone suggested, a loupe, has a lot of clearance which will obviously make it more comfortable to use for longer periods of time. The focal length is very useful: Wide and long enough for general purpose. Ok its not overly fast, but at least its 2.8 at widest instead of 3.5 or 4. This combined with the 1 inch type sensor should mean that it at least has some lower light capability. And the fact that the lens isn't overly fast means that it will be small and light, which is obviously an ergonomic concern for a run and gun camera. Obviously whether it will continue to be interesting is pending the price and image quality.
  18. Of course physical assault shouldn't go unpunished and It seems perfectly reasonable for an employer to sack an employee who assaults someone. But the stupid thing is that other channels will not hesitate to hire clarkson. And you can almost bet that If it was ITV he was being fired from the BBC would be probably first in line to hire him. They should have severely cut his pay for the next season. That would have appeased everyone who wanted him punished, probably even better because of the whole jealousy thing. Clarkson would have accepted out of humility and the fact that he is already rich anyway, and the show could have continued. Now the BBC have the rights to top gear but it is worthless because no-one they could get as replacement presenters will be accepted. They have thrown away millions but at least they can be happy that they did the right thing. Ok they let jimmy saville get away with all his stuff for decades but at least they got rid of the real bad man. At least now it will be interesting to see what happens. Very likely that May and Hamond will go with him. They will have course have to come up with a new name and have to drop obvious top gear formats like "the news" (maybe), "star in a reasonably priced car" "the stig". Apart from that they can do pretty much the same thing. They will have to find another track though.
  19. Ha Ha, be sure to lick the boots of your lesbian dominatrix master as she drags you along on a dog chain.
  20. I agree. If it has a fast lens, then it may be interesting if it gets everything else right. Which would be good built in nd's, a large zoom range, good stabilisation (cant imagine it not having this), c log, a good viewfinder, good audio, compact, low roling shutter, and the same kind of cost bracket of the gh4. All that and more seems a lot for canon to get right, but it's not imposible.
  21. Na, Thick has been copying loads of gaye's stuff. That song wasn't the only one. I get where you are coming from with the technical basis for determining whether something is the same, but in this particular case it's just so obvious that thicke or his producer listened to all of Gayes music and went "I'll have that, I'll have that, I'll have that". Being influenced by something is fine, and as long as you don't take the piss like thicke in this case no-one is going to say anything.
  22. At this point I think it makes sense to either have hd or qhd output files, because 2.5k would necessitate that you either upscale or downscale no matter what. If you wanted to end in 4k then It would obviously be better just to have 4k rather than upscale. As for rolling shutter etc, I think it depends more on how the sensor is scanning the image and downscaling rather than the output resolution. So if the sensor scanned every other line and then downscalled in camera to 1080. I think that would be good. Low compression 4:2:2 1080 at 60p with low aliasing and managable rolling shutter in h.264 sounds perfect to me. Having said that, having a 2.5k mode wouldn't hurt.
  23. Wow! I mean I don't usually recommend drugs but for you I think I make an exception. Again, non of the shit you just posted proved that modern cars are destroying the environment. That is just such a childish thing for someone to say. What do you or Russell brand suggest we should to to obliterate the usage of cars in the world? It seems you have this idea in your head that you are the super aware guy who is intelligent enough to know all the worlds problems, and that any one who disagrees with you just one little bit is a union jack waving, pims drinking ultra consumerist who is too stuck up or stupid to realise all the stuff you know. Here is something else I don't usually say, but here it just fits: Get over yourself! Unless you do not wear clothes, eat food or use electronics made with things produced in other countries, Get over your fucking self! Lets suppose I didn't know that western establishment capitalists where and are exploiting other countries. Lets suppose I didn’t already know, and that you just informed me. What do you suggest I do about it, other than whinge?
