tony wilson got a reaction from JohnBarlow in SOLD: Moeller 32/2x CinemaScope Compact Anamorphot Rig
very nice looking rig much better investment than the clown in the states selling 2kg projection optics as iscorama.
properly serviced these can be better than kowa bell howell less distortion as well.
very under rated optic these mollers not sure why they are just great.
nice job :)

russian foton prices are only about rarity and size nothing to do with quality :)

tony wilson got a reaction from brucker in [Closed] Current e-bay auctions for anamorphic adapters
this is sweet tiny easy peezy anamorphic.
1962-64 vintage simple design less smearing than iscormorphot potential to be much sharper.
like the baby hypergonar using it with a low power achromatic diopter will take this to another level.

tony wilson got a reaction from Tito Ferradans in Price range: Hawk 2x Anamorphics B-Series.
i think you may have a disconnect here...
the original cost of those optics would of been a min of 15-22 thousand dollars each.
i would be very surprised if he would treat them like a set of lomo these are way beyond lomo.
for a joke i would offer him 3000 us for the set and see what his reaction will be.
if they have not been dropped in the sea they are treasure.
they are the older generation so sort after everyone including cooke and vantage hawk angenieux are all designing in flaws because the new lens are so horribly sterile.an early set of hawks are kind of posh lomo using russian design and fantastic solid german engineering.
value is in the set matched optics are becoming impossible to find because people sell stuff one by one.
selling quick they are worth over 10 thousand us selling slow much more.
like everything optical they need to have some type of glass inside so you might want to check.in general air does not give you a nice anamorphic image :)

tony wilson got a reaction from brucker in Izukar-scope by Ichizuka Optics. ( little 8mm fixed focus anamorphic )
that is a great little lens..
unless it failed before that fungus should come off. many years ago i used diluted hydrogen peroxide with a cotton bud..then wiped then a little lighter fluid then cleaned up with the excellent calotherm and caloclear lens cleaner. only on glass mind. did someone attempt to clean it? on your ebay listing you should state that it should clean up nicely with a service. i really think that can be cleaned up better once serviced by someone good that thing will be great for the black magic pocket cam.
very nice : )

tony wilson reacted to Axel in Why Blackmagic will ship in July
You are right and wrong at the same time.
The death of Osama bin Laden in May 2011 was allegedly filmed, but nothing of this was ever shown to the public. The corpse was thrown into the ocean. There actually is no way to tell, no way to prove, that he actually was killed. But where are all the usual myths? Even Elvis, whose enormous corpse was not hidden after death, did survive for some.
The reason is logic. If Osama was alive, the easiest way to put shame on his arch enemy was a short video in which he says, hi Barack, I'm as fresh as a daisy, na na-na na-naaa-na! And because Obama could'nt sleep with this scenario in mind, that's enough to prove he didn't lie.
In this case, not being able to deliver in July would be suicidal for BM. The excuses of the past (we couldn't catch Osama because he was hidden so well) don't count now. This is not the hangdog attitude of someone who disappointed others, it is a swell announcement. So they have to be sure, they really think, that they can deliver as promised.

tony wilson got a reaction from Francisco Rios in GH2 Hack vs GH3
a used gh2 with a hack is the best investment now.
i think the images look more analogue less nasty.
gh1 and gh2 without hacks gave supreme moving images for size and cost.
rough waters ahead it is going to start getting ugly why waste money on new gh3.
it may not be the black magic that wins.
dalsa had the best 4k movie camera better pictures than red who remembers them.
red had it for a while until alexa stole the show.
black magic rocks the boat enough for sony, fuji or panasonic to reply.
gh3 sensor looks like video if you like the look of last years camera get it.

tony wilson got a reaction from andy lee in GH2 Hack vs GH3
get a good one used do not buy anything new until the dust has settled.
also sticking money down on future cameras is a sucky idea.
go back and look at the hype from a year ago for bmc some of those customers still have not had cameras.
invest hard earned or stolen money in optics digital cameras come and go.

tony wilson got a reaction from KarimNassar in Blackmagic Production Camera 4K shocks NAB - 4K for $4k, Compressed Raw, Super 35mm AND global shutter
did everyone that paid a year ago get the original model.
did they get a refund.
did they solve the issues.
are black magic using monies camera purchase monies over a 5-10 month window to pay china part costs.
a posh clever corporate version of a kickstarter.
not flaming or defaming just fuckin askin :)

tony wilson got a reaction from Zmu in no anamorphic dis in tended butt
iscorama was the generic term for the unique complete anamorphic optic with the special 2 front focus optics on the isco system.
you will find some fixed focus optics labelled iscorama
https://secure.flickr.com/photos/34211301@N00/4962962403/in/photostream
these where part of a very expensive package called the iscorama set.
isco 36 or a 42
and a separate fixed focus projection optic as above plus mounting bits.
total shoot and projection system.
https://secure.flickr.com/photos/34211301@N00/3898632626/
your lens is fine i think as long as it has the 2 focus front optics i believe i was the one that came up with the term baby for these small things so you can blame me.
calling a 2 kg door stop an iscorama is taking the piss..
i do not give a shit really eyes is nots der anamorphosis police :) i just wanted to highlight it so anyone tempted to buy would at least ask the guy some technical questions.

tony wilson got a reaction from Hans Punk in no anamorphic dis in tended butt
i assumed he was one of the guys on this site so was looking for a little keyboard banter.
was hoping he would explain how he merged the small special iscorama focus optics onto such a big bastard lens
and all for a fraction of the cost of even a faulty iscorama.

tony wilson got a reaction from Francisco Rios in Testing the Technovision 35mm Anamorphic T/1.4
Storaro is was just to good..
most directors find it impossible to work with people like him.
he has more insight more vision to intellectual.
gordon willis and sascha vierny also.
directors want yes men
not men that say that idea is not good man : )
you need to be talented and strong to employ such talented beasts.
Apocolypse Now vs The Last Emperor
tricky how about this beauty a masterclass that has been copied by many directors.

big difference sankor 16f needs no support no massive close up diopters.
is usable every day
25ft min focus compared to 5ft...the scam is the term iscorama.
nuttin wrong with earnin but trading on ignorance of morons is not nice butt as i said
some folks seem to deserve it.

what a joke
who are these buyers
do they have a brain
i thought nobody had any money
calling this an iscorama is fraud
to quote mr charles manson and baron edwyn de rothschild some people clearly like being victims.
and they give positive thanks for the rape on feedback :)
