  1. Have you heard of lens adapters? E mount is one of the most versatile available ...

Oh no!!! 4K only with external recorder! How will we cope!!! Why would ANYONE buy a camera without 4K internal in this day and age!

    Wait a minute ....

    Only if 1080p doesn't suck...we'll see.

  2. I was wondering do you have any idea if Canon plans to respond to the new cameras? the only step forward since the early days was the 5d mk3 (with RAW) otherwise nothing has changed in FPS or sharpness!

They need to release a mirrorless APS-C camera with 4K (the only way they can't screw up details with fake HD at this resolution). Even though I believe all EF-S lenses won't work on the mirrorless model.

Do they still believe that protecting the high end models is the way to go? So that they keep releasing the same awful fake 1080p?

  3. Hello,

I need a wide lens for my canon 550D (yes, still using this crap :( ) and considering the Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8, problem is: it costs too much. Since I will be using this lens mainly for landscapes and daily wide shots on a stabilizer (always f/8 and above) I see no reason why I can't get a cheaper lens with smaller aperture.

Do you have something to suggest? I don't think edge to edge sharpness is that important for video. I would also prefer the front not to rotate while focusing or changing focal length since I always use a CPL filter.

  4. Exact perfect

For budget video there is only GM1 GX7 G6 that are sharp and detailed more and more than a6000

    For a very-pro all-inone GH3 GH4

For a pro-pro low price BMPCC

For absolute pro for honest price BM 2.5K BM 4K

And the latest is that Canon discovered in 2014 they need to respond to the video quality increase, they will make a a6000 clone for sure. Why can't Panasonic join the APS-C or FullFrame world? They would destroy everyone!

This sample looks sharp, although I'm watching from my netbook so I'm not 100% sure!

Let's just wait for the Andrew's comparison.

Anyway does the Sony E mount allow to use basically any lens mount (manual lenses, no autofocus for me :)) without optics in between?

  5. MKjaer.. Thats correct!
I played around with a6000 for some days now and to be honest..there isn´t that much different from nex5n in Daylight shooting..but in lowlight

it is cleaner and moire and aliasing is less.

That's what I thought, too bad this would have been the camera Canon never released. But it was clear Sony couldn't release something that is as sharp as their high end videocameras!

  6. Looks like something is off in your render there.

Maybe do another test but with them both set to 25p rather than the A6000 at 50p, as the codec gets pretty soft at that setting.

Agreed, this was my first thought as well.

In any case, my crops were just to show the video that was posted more clearly here on the forum, whether or not this is an accurate representation of the performance of the a6000 vs. the GH2 depends on the original footage...

Wait I don't own the camera I'm just watching samples people are posting (especially the original files) and something is off in terms of details.
