  1. So which is better for 1080p GX7 or G6? In terms on quality and features (I'm talking about video only). The swivel screen is a must for me now!
  2. Only if 1080p doesn't suck...we'll see.
  3. What is the cheapest adapater for EF-S lenses that can control aperture electronically? So with EF-S lenses vignetting is for sure? I can only find EF adapters (with built in aperture which I don't like at all) nothing for EF-S lenses. Is it because of the crop factor of 1.6x?
  4. What kind of manual lenses can you put on this camera (mounts)? Does it play well with them or it works only with sony e-mount lenses?
  5. A7s looks promising but what about lenses for the E-mount? Also 4K only with external recored?
  6. I just don't feel like going to m43 even if the GH4 is amazing!! I'm into wide lenses at the moment, how much would it cost a brand new lens at 16mm 35mm equivalent on a m43 sensor? I believe quite a lot!
  7. I was wondering do you have any idea if Canon plans to respond to the new cameras? the only step forward since the early days was the 5d mk3 (with RAW) otherwise nothing has changed in FPS or sharpness! They need to release a mirrorless APS-C camera with 4K (the only way they can't screw up details with fake HD at this resolution). Even though I believe all EF-S lenses won't work on the mirrorless model. Do they still believe that protecting the high end models is the way to go? So that they keep releasing the same awful fake 1080p?
  8. I found it for €240 with preorder, that's awesome!
  9. Thank you guys, I forgot to mention that I would prefer a FL at about 10mm, do you think I'll notice a difference between 11 and 12mm? The Canon looks promising as well...
  10. Hello, I need a wide lens for my canon 550D (yes, still using this crap :( ) and considering the Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8, problem is: it costs too much. Since I will be using this lens mainly for landscapes and daily wide shots on a stabilizer (always f/8 and above) I see no reason why I can't get a cheaper lens with smaller aperture. Do you have something to suggest? I don't think edge to edge sharpness is that important for video. I would also prefer the front not to rotate while focusing or changing focal length since I always use a CPL filter.
  11. And the latest is that Canon discovered in 2014 they need to respond to the video quality increase, they will make a a6000 clone for sure. Why can't Panasonic join the APS-C or FullFrame world? They would destroy everyone! This sample looks sharp, although I'm watching from my netbook so I'm not 100% sure! Let's just wait for the Andrew's comparison. Anyway does the Sony E mount allow to use basically any lens mount (manual lenses, no autofocus for me :)) without optics in between?
  12. That's what I thought, too bad this would have been the camera Canon never released. But it was clear Sony couldn't release something that is as sharp as their high end videocameras!
  13. One thing is for sure: I'm hungry! Anyway how could she like the Iphone footage better??? Something related to how she looked I'm sureee (I know how women think when watching themselves on video aahaha)
  14. Wait I don't own the camera I'm just watching samples people are posting (especially the original files) and something is off in terms of details.
  15. Which retains the best details on GH4 for 1080p viewing? 1) Shooting in 4k and downsampling to 1080p in software 2) Shooting directly in 1080p from the camera
  16. I see but when I look at the footage I still feel the DSRL-fake-HD look. Don't you?
  17. Andrew are you going to review this camera with a comparison video with other cameras for sharpness, low light performance etc..? Anyway to me it doesn't look that sharp, I don't see the wow effect I get with the GH2 details
  18. Honestly I don't believe this a bit! There's no way in hell we're gonna get a 550d successor that actually shoots even real 1080p, that could compete with their own high end cameras
  19. Imagine if they will be able to stream the raw data via HDMI... :D All cameras will become 1080p RAW ready
  20. Andrew about your footage...what was the sizxe of the overall RAW files? I read about 7MB per frame for 1920x1080 RAW this would equal to 10GB per minute :|
  21. I wonder what Canon is thinking about this. Their crippling has been converted into a better version of the high end video cameras they want to protect! AHAHA! Anyway how could this ever work with SD cards? Maybe the 550d is out of the game :( 600d only does 1280x340 with problems.
  22. From what I read you need CF cards to get data saved since SDHC is not enough
  23. amazing! Is this something 5d mk3 related or it could applied to other newer cameras in the future?
  24.   I wouldn't be that sure. I think, especially Sony, they do it very intentionally
