Nice to know about the 0-255 issue. Switched to 16-235 in-camera and the problem has gone. Makes grading that bit more straight forward. Loving EditReady. It's a beast.

​Get the 1D C instead. I love it and can't even think of a way to improve the image it gives, aside from in the future global shutter. Practical side, yeah smaller file sizes and tilting screen with peaking would have been nice as would an EVF but it's lovely to use as a stills camera and easy to rig for video while keeping the weight down, still much smaller and lighter than an FS7 or C300!

​Detail comparison would be a non contest, 1080p vs 4K. But internal 1080p (if you don't want to shoot 4K) is better on the D750. It's almost at the A7S level, but the codec is easier to grade from the Flat picture setting. You are not an idiot for considering the D750 but make sure you have some nice Nikon lenses. 24-70mm F2.8 AF-D is a bargain.

It's better than the GH2 in low light. The lens is very fast at the wide end and the sensor is newer. ISO 1600 perfectly usable.

Take it by rec.709 you are using a standard Canon profile like Portrait or something on your 60D. Well S-LOG is LOG so a different league. It flattens the full dynamic range of the sensor and packs it into the codec. It grades WAY better than the 60D or indeed any of the Canon or Sony rec.709 profiles because simply put, there's more to work with in the image. Nothing is burnt or crushed or baked into the image.

A short summary yeah, no footage. It's a big "no" from me for this camera, just get the NX1 instead.

Yes it is a bad decision. My NX500 went back to the shop because of that 4K crop. It's horrible.

Be careful guys. Looks like the firmware has an error, where they forgot the lock. The reason it isn't meant to work with the GH4 is because it can get physically stuck on the mount as happened with mine. The images are lovely, I shot this with the BMCC speed booster glass in the EF adapter... But there's another problem... often the focus is slanted so one half of your frame could be blurry, so bear that in mind at wide angle shooting a large flat subject frame-to-frame or landscape at infinity especially at wide angle like with the Tokina 11-16mm F2.8... that lens is a good way to test for the issue. If the adapter gets stuck on your GH4 mount you're looking at breaking the GH4 just to remove the adapter and it can damage the pins for AF. But if you're a brave one, enjoy!

Some may wonder why I locked the FM and Rectilux threads set up by Cosimo and John. Cosimo is publicising a product and John is publicising his solution. I am not going to allow Anamorphic Shop themselves or John to set up their own threads as EOSHD is not an advertising platform and I cannot vouch for the quality of either solution. In fact I have heavy doubts about both of them. The Rectilux is unproven. The FM, I tried and didn't like the image. I also feel these two threads divert a lot of attention away from actual anamorphic lenses and better solutions. Furthermore some of the behaviour of the people behind these products has been very sour for the atmosphere of the forum and in personal emails to me, which is unacceptable. ​Clarkson island looks hellish I generally agree with your post. It's spot on really. And yes Clarkson is to blame for being sacked. I am sure there was a better solution though which they couldn't take for political reasons. Lengthy suspension and a fine possibly.

Cosimo - no trolling of this thread. John - no blatant advertising and hype. This is the final warning for the pair of you. It's dragging the atmosphere on the forum into the gutter. If you carry on, either of you, then I will just wash my hands of you both in the control panel and delete everything.

SleepyWill is spot on. Clarkson has been in a fragile state for some time. Last year his mother had just died, his marriage had broken down, he had various health issues and was smoking & drinking too much. Add to that the pressure of keeping up such a high level of TV for over a decade almost non-stop and the tabloid pressure and the vicious public shaming match in the press that follows many of his jokes.... and you have a very fragile mental state.
