  3. I'm glad that it sounds like they'll be open sourcing what they finished, at least.
  4. Sadly, things have taken a bit of a turn which is a real shame. Trying to do projects like this is hard enough without real life turning up and kicking you in the nuts let alone having to deal with the absolute shitehawks it attracts. Hopefully things can turn round in time.
  5. It takes its core from CinePi, but the people working on it are attempting to make it accessible with a better GUI, buttons pre-configured, etc. If you visit the CinePi discord, the AltCine folks are pretty active there and seem to be working with the full blessing of the CinePi core developers.
  6. G9 II has a few gotchas: * no fan, so overheats * audio nerfed so you can’t use TC1 / tentacle etc * no hdmi out when recording with hybrid zoom Otherwise, I really liked it but it’s gone to MPB and been replaced by GH7.
  7. I'm curious, is this just the CinePi camera project rehoused in a nice body?
  8. Looks very nice, what does the build look like if I may ask?
  9. The only principle that they follow is defined by their self-interest. If a law or moral principle exists which they think would help them gain more power or wealth, they use it argument why others should follow it. But they never feel the need to obey laws or ethical principles if it would be disadvantageous to their attempts to increase their power or wealth. Similar to the Russia which cries wolf when Western countries freeze their foreign assets, but do not see any problem in the looting & killing of Ukrainians. These are examples of people who are guided by only their self-interest and will do anything to gain more and more power and wealth. What is amazing is how the common people actually voted those people into positions of power.
  10. It's also interesting to watch a number of the same people who claimed that others were monsters if they weren't in tears over Kirk's murder who are now falling all over themselves to defend the president's repulsive post about Reiner - or if not defending it, becoming deafeningly silent about it. It's almost like they're a bunch of hypocrites or something...
  11. I'm surprised that I'm just finding out now that he had a career after All in the Family. I know I've never really followed Hollywood that much but how did I never find out he was directing? Anyway, yeah, that Trump guy. Oh wait, should I be careful what I write here? Is this social media and I might need to show it at the border someday? Nah! He'll be gone soon likely, things won't be better with Vance but at least they won't be so unpredictable. I'm still not setting foot in that country until they make some changes. Am I too hopeful or is this really just "the good times" before it really gets bad?
  12. He popped up in my feed a few months ago and I’m really enjoying it too.
  13. To misquote Niemöller: ”first they came for the media. I sat and watched. They came for the gays, the trans and those who are different. I sat and watched. They came for those they claimed don’t belong. I sat and watched. Then they came for me. There was no one left to hear my cries…”
  14. I wish I could sit in the corner with a hot chocolate while someone wise told me that we are over the worst of it… then I remember that Vance waits to inherit, Farage hovers around No10 like flies over a corpse and… unfortunately it does seem that sitting back and ignoring it is no longer a sensible option.
  15. I had a similar experience with this post. He's done hundreds of worse deeds just a year in to his second term, but this got me particularly upset. He's scum for the sake of being scum.
  16. There is something about his post about Rob Reiner that has really had a big impact on me. I thought I’d become desensitised to the depravity, stupidity and contemptuous lies but this one is different. Almost like a test of what he believes he can get away with and a test of how much people around him would let him get away with. The answer to both of those is now, clearly, whatever the fuck he wants to.
  17. I'd like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas. I'm not doing so well this year, have sold most of my gear and EOSHD is not making any income. I may have to sell my UK home next. Even through the difficult times however, it's one thing - creativity, and the love of images and film that keeps me marching on. So I am wishing everyone a very creative Christmas, as well as many happy moments spent with your loved ones.
  18. Any Sigma Fp-L owners about? It seems like a rare thing, the 60 megapixel pocket monster. One of the few cameras I refuse to part with though.
  19. It was a real low blow. Everyone has a big respect for Rob's achievement in filmmaking, the joy he brought to millions... Has the fucking penny dropped yet in the heads of these astonishing idiots who are in Trumps' fantasy land with him. It's a proper fucking cult. He has turned half of America into a right-wing cult. I don't know what's worse though... Is it the fantasy land of America-first narcissism or these kind of psychotic displays when someone dies... of him celebrating someone's death, throwing a pack of insults out to the family, at the time of the biggest tragedy of their lives, I can't even imagine what Rob's daughter is going through right now having found them all dead and then the media circus and that fucking cunt chiming in from his government hideout. He is simply incapable of forgetting or forgiving.
  20. I've been enjoying his stories of the celebrity portrait shoots from the 90s and 2000s For a start the guy's work is fantastic, a great eye and a great instinct... superb really, and fascinating to hear his creative re-telling of the shoots. But in these videos he's also really candid about the stars, and their dreaded publicists / PR handlers A mixture of great... to really lacking respect for the photographer's art. The Paul McCartney one is pretty shocking but not as bad as Hilary Clinton 🙂 Love the PJ Harvey stuff though.
  21. The big question is, who is the more delusional; the current POTUS or Jake Paul, because both clearly exist in the most extraordinary fantasy land that only exists in their own, what passes for, minds. But what do I know 🤷‍♂️
  22. Yesterday
  23. That's very true, they don't understand exactly what goes on in the neural networks. Then again I don't understand what goes on in the mind of other people, so that makes two of us
  24. Dear @zlfan These posts are like spam. So I am going to put your account on pause while I look into whether you're a bot. Too many incidences of low quality posting recently and I have to make an editorial decision to protect the place, ok?
  25. 5.2k 1x3 is about 3k 1x1 to my eyes.
  26. for 700d/650d/eosm/100d, 5.2k 1x3 2.40:1 24p is about 3.75 MB/frame x 24 frame/s x 1.4 x 0.7 = 90 MB/s, with the lexar silver card, this mode may be continuous. this is s35 full frame for these crop mood cameras, the live view is high res color mode even in crop modes, practically very useful.
  27. another useful mode on 5d3ml is 3.5k 1x1 mode, it can do 16:9, most importantly, it is s35 so that many cinema lenses are adaptable to this mode. 7MBx24x1.4x0.7 ia sbout 170 MB/s, so if do 10 bit, 3.5k 1x1 16:9 is continuous, maybe 12 bit will work.
