hidalgoserra Posted September 13, 2012 Share Posted September 13, 2012 Hey ive seen around amazing examples done with hypergonar hi fi 2 in conjunction with the lomo 75mm lenses, now the question comes....ive seen on ebay 2000 types of those lenses with a miriad of codes and stuff, could someone so kind point me to what is the real lomo? couse i guess its like isco that have 10 different models, all looking the same, with 10x prices from one another and of course with 10x quality. thanks for any help Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Typically, Lomo primes are not ideal for pairing with anamorphic adapters because the front barrel will rotate when focusing. At least this has been the case with the lenses that I have owned. You won't be able to have a light-tight connection between the front of the Lomo and the back of the Hypergonar without some crudely taped solution that you have to untape every time you want to change focus. It is the best lens that I have found for the Hypergonar HiFi-2 (at least with a Micro Four Thirds sensor). It has very unique swirling bokeh, a static front barrel, and at 58mm is just long enough to shoot through the Hypergonar without vignetting. tony wilson Posted September 15, 2012 Share Posted September 15, 2012 500 bucks for what an old lens on it's own. interesting to have an old set maybe. not at 500 dollars a pop. you will need a 300 dollar adapter to go to gh2 these are just a copy of old english cooke cine lens. ok for 200 dollars why not look at japanese lens from the 60s and 70s smaller easier to adapt nice sharpness very low image focus shift. andy lee Posted September 15, 2012 Share Posted September 15, 2012 Carl Zeiss Biometar 80mm f2.8 is very sharp great lens Mine is Pentacon 6 mount Like Tony says the Lomo may not be that good a buy with an adaptor too $$$$$$$$ This Zeiss is very very sharp and 80mm is not that far off your Lomo 75mm. there are lots of Biometars on ebay Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
