  1. Professionals that use RED and Arri should see the value of AF and smaller form factor if it gives them the DR and vdi speed they look for. AF is not the reason professionals don't stay up with the latest and greatest gear. AF is feature you don't have to use. If AF was stable and reliable pros would use it also. If your focus puller sucks what are you gonna do after the fact.
  2. Lot's of issues with video abilities in the smaller camera bodies and the biggest is heat generated by the processor inside the camera. People don't understand this unless they've used a cine camera. If a camera came out with no video features and was a pro photography camera the internet would go nuts.
  3. Why? Two different bodies means it's not a hybrid and they can do video and stills really well. The super fast A9 does great looking video, etc, etc. The day it happened and Canon introduced good video in a DSLR it was all over. We can't go back.

    Nikon 8K?

Nikon usually shoots it's own Ambassadors with Nikon video gear. Who knows but would Apple want a Nikon type company to be able to give us 8K or an expensive Canon 8K Camera Head? Apple is targeting the masses. Processors are mini computers and of course they do. https://www.nikon.com/products/semi/
  5. 8K camera from Nikon at Apple event............ https://www.techradar.com/news/did-apple-just-blow-the-lid-on-a-new-nikon-8k-camera
  6. 6K from the S1H is 6K 24p (3:2 aspect ratio) OPEN GATE, 5.9K up to 30p (16:9 aspect ratio). Once 6K is downsampled to 4k you can't get it back from the A7III or A6500. And at the end of the day a lot more makes footage cine quality then the spec of "6K and anamorphic". It comes down to the quality that you get. Some people will argue that 4K 60 422 on the GH5 is the same as 4K 60 422 on the VariCam and it's not.
  7. Exactly! Good post. I agree that the S1H might be stepping down from the top rather than coming up rom the bottom in quality. The goal is cine quality and instead of spec hunting from what we have in the Gh5 and it's tradeoffs we should look at where the S1H is positioned and what it can do. I am also sure the S1H will be Netflix approved by the first off 2020.
  8. The GH5 is not outdated if we didn't have the S1H. The S1H is the GH6 in FF and the GH5 users are the biggest complainers.
  9. I speak from more then a few people on the EOS that you are what we call a dickhead.
  10. It's called having an opinion and letting others do the same. I don't bash people because they are from another country like you do. How's ever heard of having hard feelog toward another country because camera gear cost less in that country? You still didn't answer what country you are from or live in.
  11. My comments about the GH5 are my opinions and chaps like you need to realize that the GH5 isn't the cine camera you all want it to be. Maybe you bullied other people into submission about ever speaking negatively about the Gh5 but that doesn't work on me. The Gh5 was a good camera for the time but now it's not. You were the guy the sky was falling on and kept telling everyone about how low the Z6 prices were in the resale market. None off that was true except u claiming the sky was falling.
  12. I never said I was upset did I? I would love to get the P4K but it's been backordered at the time I wanted to buy it.
  13. 2 plus years since the GH5 was released and you think it's coming out soon? That's fan boy talk all the way.
  14. Here's some sunshine that @anonim posted. WoW! this just makes your heart feel warmer doesn't it?
  15. I never said anyone is wrong for owning or wanting the GH5. But as GH5 owners don't justify your investment by pushing opinion comments about a system that's outdated and and like its not. People want an upgrade in quality and if they invest in a camera's echo system they want to be right about it. Does Panasonic make fast pro glass for the GH5? Is the GH5 a supported camera, meaning will we even get the GH6? Panasonic flag ship hybrid was the GH5, was, not anymore. That seems to bother you for some reason. Panasonic could have easily introduced the GH6 to the market and let that camera bridge the gap to it's cine lineup. They did not and I trust they did this for a reason and that reason is cine is moving toward full frame sensors for all the next gen cine cameras. The proof is what glass is being developed for FF cine sensors. It's called a road map and the future.
  16. I'm not sure about the GH6 coming soon. Maybe but I think it's a least a year out in 2020. Panasonic wants people to jump to the S1 or S1H. A GH6 at $2,000-2,400 that has to be better then the Gh5 would affect S1 sales and make people question the S1H. If the S1H wasn't announced then I would say the GH6 might be around the corner. They can't come out with the Gh6 and say look it's just as good as the S1H. They also lost the m4/3 market to the P4K and Zcam. I just don't see that $2,000 mark that Panasonic needs to hit with the GH6 being available. The S1H is the new GH6.........
  17. The GH5 was great when it came out but $2,000 is getting up with the BM cameras at $3,500 and the GH5 has horrible AF and is horrible for stills. So the by the time people really unwrapped the 4K 60p that you get from the GH5 it tells you that in 2017 it was a great camera that pushed the market but it's value as a system to invest in is questionable. Why take stills if it's not professional quality? Why have AF if the whole planet tells you it's bad? Why compress and codec the hell out of you files? This one goes against every core value that a cine level camera should be. The GH5 played the spec game and showed what it was when the Gh5s came out. Panasonic was running for the cash and showed us they were willing to be just like Sony and Canon and Nikon.
  18. All the specs on paper won't pull the GH5 image quality up to the Z6 and S1. Your paying more for the S1H to get cine quality features but the core system comes from the S1 and Z6 sensor and design. Both systems use XQD cards for a reason. You think 4K 60p on the Gh5 is great? It's not P4K great is it? I think the Gh5 users need to stop trolling the Gh5 anytime someone calls out that the spec don't match the video quality they were promised. The GH5 looks great until you put it next to P4K footage and until you realize the road map for the S1, Z6 and S1H. Yeah the Nikon Z6 with it's 12 bit RAW.
  19. The S1 doesn't have that also and was mentioned as beating the GH5. Your argument doesn't seem valid based on the current camera models being released and supported and what the public wants. The whole point of having the Atomos recorder is for 10bit recording but for the feature you mentioned. I'm talking image quality and CS. I don't care if it's 10 bit external vs bad 10 bit internal (Gh5). Which one would you take? The Z6 has 12 bit RAW coming. What do you want? compressed bad codec 4K 60p on the GH5 or what the Z6 or S1 offer?
  20. The P4K beats the GH5 all day long for $1,295 No one has beat the GH5 except the Z6, S1 and these are FF cameras. Who was suppose to beat the m4/3 GH5? The only other m4/3 company beat them. All other were FF cameras or getting into FF. Camera companies stick to the $1,000, $1,500 and $2,000 price points year after year and decade after decade. And in the GH5 all your talking is specs only. The 4K 60p on the Gh5 is not great compared too cine cameras or the P4K? It seems people get caught up in the "I spent $2,000 and got 4K 60p " and expect that to be good 4K 60p . If it was really good 4K 60p then no need for the S1 or S1H. The 4K 60p out of the S1H will be cine quality and is truly bridging the gap.
  21. The GH5 was an upgrade to the GH4 and the next release can be even as far as price goes. 12 years ago the JVC camcorder that shot 720p was $8,000 plus a $5,000 tape deck. Think in reverse - if the GH5 was $1,999 at release just for the body, do you think Panasonic just dropped the price by $500 in the 1 1/2 years since it was released? That means the BMP4K will be $850 in another year. And it means the GH5s is over or under priced right now. Because the EOS PR came out under $1,500 - that's how the PR is competing with the Z6. Not everyone can spend 2K on a camera.
  22. The GH5 and GH5s were over priced at release and the GH5 price dropped is probably the biggest price drop in the last 15 years. The GH5s is considered an upgrade over the GH5 so not sure were the price cut would come from. The Z6 price drop was based on the Canon EOS RP.
  23. So you're my universal enemy? You make no sense in any language.
  24. My comments are my opinions and that's it. You've decided to hate on the S1H, Panasonic, my grandfather, my country and me. And you do all of this while knowing nothing about the S1H, Panasonic, my grandfather, my country and me.
