Random Thought: Reviewed more of my XT3 footage, I think the lens at f/2 was a tad soft (not cameras fault), but man.. that image is beautiful out of the camera. Especially when converted to the arri log from f log.
Here is the Flog > LogC sup2 LUT I made and ill post the LogC> Official Arri 709 LUT that matches too. Enjoy!
how do you install luts on the xt3 ?
using them keeps the flog recording right ?

so i've been shotting a few things lately while i am traveling.
about the focus peaking i can say that the color you want to use is bright yellow. i barely could see the red, sometimes didn't see anything with the red selected, with yellow it is much much better.

thanks. will wait for the bug fix before updating and testing

hlg comes with the latest update ?

You can't put any LUT into the camera, but there's a feature called "Natural Liveview" that works as a view assist, it displays a BT.709 image on screen but records F-log.
can we have the "eterna look" on the screen and record flog ?

maybe the fringer adapter. the lens is tamron 24-70

still learning to use my camera.
one thing i find anoying is the fact that when using af if you touch the manual focus ring it goes to manual focus. don't know how to go back to af except turning off and on the camera again or switching the front focus selection button

I've never found peaking useful, but maybe the cameras I've used all had it poorly implemented.
very usefull when shooting handheld and you don't rely on the af. but compared to the 5d mkII with magic lantern the fuji peaking is useless
at moments areas that are in focus aren't visible because the dots are far too small and fade into the material wtf
-
the great feature would be ot have a peaking that actually is efficient

The punch in while recording is super useful for manual focus.
what's that ?

no waveforms on the camera. Focus peaking: set the camera to manual focus. In the video menu look for MF assist and set it to focus peak highlight. You can change the color and intensity
thanks i did selected peaking then. it is just that you don't see it. can't believe how bad it is. i miss my 5D mkII with magic lantern for focus peaking
i hope they will implement a waveform in a future firmware
-
another stupid question
is there waveform on the xt3 ?
same with focus peaking.
can't find them is this too long menu

I would imagine there is a variation even in the good ones, who the hell they are LoL, that make it hard to get a good one or end up with a dud. But for the average stuff done on here I doubt it is too noticeable. I have had several variable ones and the cheapest one I have seems the best, go figure. I think unless you pay a 1000 bucks for one, no guarantee there either I bet, it is hit or miss.
well 1000 bucks is a bit expensive but it is parts that are made to last and that you always use, they don't get much outdated with time like a camera.
i have heliopan and it is quite good but i need a larger one and as i have to travel in the us starting tomorrow will have to buy it over there 'heliopan was out of stock here) and heliopan is not easy to find in the us and quite expensive.
he is objective that is the question as they were sent to him by the company

9 stops should be ok, the thing i really want to avoir is color shift and softness
maybe single 3, 6 and 10stops would be ok

Currently this is the best:

based on ? they all claim to be the best.
i am more thinking getting single strengh filters, as yo ucan pile them it is maybe a better choice.
the question is what strengh to take... thinking 4-6 and 10 stops

The slr doesn't seem to offer a range as wide as the others
That Is a problem with the new cameras and high native iso

If it was available in Europe, I would defi itely buy it, now, there is a chance the custom fees to be as much as the filter.
The new Benro is supposedly very good also.
I'll buy it and if not happy with it i'll sell It to you when i come back
