  1. We already knew from the Raw photo conversion: Nx1 sensor by itself has extraordinary dynamic range, but it is hidden in dark area. I compare nx1 raw file conversion to Canon, Sony, Nikon, Olympus, Panas - NX1 sensor needs exclusive workflow during conversion, because it has tremendous amount of data hidden in dark area… Unfortunately, for video, we do not have such a chance to extract details from dark areas, but we have some tools to optimise shot for what we have.. I only play with 16-235 and BlackLevel: +3 +5. I prefer to keep standard picture profile in settings. Otherwise we are tending to loose beautiful colours created for us by Samsung ingeneers. And i do really love Samsung colours - simply why i moved to the system (hate millions of colour based problems i had in my live with ALL mentioned brands)… But now I’m pretty happy… One more, and simply the BEST solution: to use adequate lightning and keep ISO under 1600. For a night shots i have Samyang 24mm/1.4 + NXL, and I’m Really satisfied with: resolution and colours… NX1 DRange.mp4
  2. +1 NX1 is the most flexible in this regard from everything i tried, you can even set M mode but ISO set to Auto. I've been always frustrated why Sony, Panasonic, Olympus, etc locks this valuable feature....
  3. +100500 I've invested in all the best NX primes thinking to flavour 16-50S, plus i have Nikon mount Samyang 24mm/f1.4 and Samyang 16mm/f2.0. And you know what? I rarely use all the bunch, but 16-50S is almost there. Also i love little 16-50/3.5-5.6 power-zoom (which came with the camera). You would not believe, but it is the second run-and-gun lens i use - it is sharp, great AF (much-much better that any NX prime), OIS supports the video nicely...
  4. Samyang 24mm +NXL >> 17mm Have no idea on f stop, but it is brighter with NXL. I love the fact NXL does not destroy quality of the picture as much as original Metabone SpeedBoosters purchased from USA..
  5. Noup. I've learned that lesson only after i spent so much time and money to get knowledge. CRI+95 LED has nothing to do with CRI+95 fluorescent light. The nature of spectrum light is very different. You could go the same way i spent, or simply get familiar with the fact. I could declare: LED CRI+95 light is a commercial data. Of course LED+95 is better than general LED. NX1 is a very sensitive instrument, thus it can see and measure the difference. I quit from M43 to NX1 because i've seen huge variations in whites from NX1, which reminds me the very old days with Fuji-S-5-Pro. In fact, any LED-light could do the job, unless you don't bother on skin-tones a lot, or you have nice young talent in front of your camera. If you have to shoot people with unperfect skin, or you have in frame people with different skin-tone = you WILL get problems. From Leroy i purchased inexpensive LED panels, which works acceptable WITHOUT a people in frame. To get a Fluorescent light for VIDEO from Leroy - is a challenge because: 1. Flickering. Non every modern fluorescents acceptable for video. 2. You can not purchase OSRAM ColorProof from Leroy With OSRAM ColorProof the WB and Exposition is Rock-Solid. I love the stability. I can declare: NX1 is a very sensitive instrument, thus, any light imperfections could drive NX1 creasy. I just finished one more video project with ColorProof: Unfortunately, for your interest only a few seconds from the studio available, but i declare: I did NO collor correction, skin-tones are as natural as they are. Also shots agains GreenScreen works good SkinTone-Wise, keeping in mind the fact: all Keying Plugins will affect the total picture balance, and skin tones also. Now i know, if i shot agains green screen with Aputure LED+95, i would get problems with face... Hope that could be useful for you, guys.
  6. Hello NX1 fan-club. Couple of months ago i published a video i shot completely at 120p 170MBs: https://youtu.be/UyRyZzM5do8 Some of you mentioned nice and clean picture and asked me about a Light i’ve used during the interview. I’ve used Aputure 582 mark2 (CRI-95) model, and UHD-30p 170MBs mode. Now i decided to share with you guys, my experience with NX1 LIGHT-wise. Aputure 582 mark2 (CRI-95) is a great module, compact and really powerful, but it can produce weird skin-tones paired with NX1. That’s why i purchased fluorescent light set with “OSRAM 950 ColorProof” tubes. OSRAM 950 ColorProof paired with NX1 produce much better skin-tones. There is my completed video-interview-style project, shot on NX1 paired with OSRAM tubes: https://youtu.be/uTI8i-FOuuM As far as understand NX1 WhiteBalance algorithm, custom set and presets are just a general orientation for the camera. NX1 continue to fine tune WB during video-capture, even with custom WB set. From my experience, it is better to set one of the available WB-Presets, but Kelvin-WB and Custom-WB are the least used (because most inadequate). Now i think, NX1 sensor is really sensitive to the Light-spectrum. Any imperfections of the Light-Spectrum could potentially drive NX1 WB adjustments in a weird territory making skin-tones unpleasant. Otherwise i have a set of three very inexpensive LED panels (big flat and cheep) from a Lerough-Merlen-Superstore (60x60 very flat, very soft light capable and easy to install light wight panels). Paired with NX1 works really good, unless i have to shot people. If i have to interview, OSRAM fluorescent light is definitely the way to go, caused by skin-tones reproduction. Hope that could helps you guys Light-wise and WB set with NX1.
  7. As far as the price is 130EUR i'd stay away. I tried so many adapters this kind, with Nikon, M43 and others.. Some of them was Made in Japan. But the result always the same - you WILL loose the sharp of your image. Probably the centre of the image will be acceptable, but corners definitely become useless. With zoom it will be even worst. And you will not be able to zoom the lens with wide-adapter attached, because the result picture will be even "better". From my experience, the best adapter of this kind (and i still keep it) Panasonic designed for they specific lenses. I keep set of three adapters (original Panasonic set of three glasses: wide, tele and macro lens attachments) made by Panasonic specially for Panasonic 14mm/2.5 prime (and one zoom) lenses. Also, i tried these adapters paired with other Panasonic/Olympus lenses = BAD. Sometimes you can not focus close, sometimes you will not be able to focus infinitive, sometimes sharpens issues. Tele-converters of this kind works better compare to wide-converters, but both are NOT of my choice... I'd stay away....
  8. Well, I purchased NXL from Luca. Paired with Samyang 24mm/f1.4 - i have a night solution. This video i shot with NX1+NXL+Samyang 24/1.4 handheld. It was a complete dark night. The camera see definitely MORE than i could. Just take a look at the sky - you can see Night-Clouds! As far as i remember, the ISO was between 1600-3200 ISO. The file is - original 4K NX1 converted into ProRes422. The size is huge - 460Mb.. I do not keep originals H265, sorry… http://www.kwon.ru/2/SAM_2398.mov

  10. color wise: i quit from M43 because of colors. I could never get correct colors from GH4, photo and video both. Sometimes picture is nice, but collors are wrong. Espetially in photo mode. Ive investet in Cilkipix and all other possible converters without any big improovment. And i tried everything, and i loved M43 format and concept, and i had All the best M43 lenses, and i had some other Panasonics and Olympus. Final breaking decission happened when Panasonic involved 20mp trend instead of 16mp development on its sensor... And also M43 AF system Olways stresset me in a bad mood... I will take NX1 with me in a grave, because now i have COLORS and features. Sad on manufactor decissions only...
  11. Looks like "Edit" button is active for some time, but later does not. Am i correct? Is there an option to edit the post?
  12. Comrades! How to edit original post (topic starter)? I've updated referenced video clip, and about to correct the link. Simply can not see a button "edit the post". I appreciate your comment New version is there:
  13. Dear Luca, I’ve received the parcel. NXL-0055 is awesome. Incredible conversion factor on top of super optics. It looks like NXL-Optics is better than Metabone Speed Boosters)) I tried many original Metabones when i was m43 user, but finally quit from them. I have two manual Samyang lenses: 24mm/1.4 and 16mm/2.0 Both get a new live with NXL… 16mm/2.0 becomes close to 11mm)) Well done, Man! Keep Going.
  14. You are correct, the sound will be acceptable only. i tried them all. As far as im concearned, if the only general stereo needed, id go with NX1 internal. it delivers a nice quality when you got familiar with. i've shot a lot inside with onboard mics, the result was nice. i'd say probably identical or even better then Rode-video-mike-pro models.
  15. Settings are almost by default, the only DR profile is active, WB auto, sharp, contrast, etc.. by default. NX1 is a real pleasure to work with picture-wise. the light is inexpensive Amoran led.
  16. Rode NT3 - it is NOT a stereo and NOT a compact one, but it powers up from internal 9v replacable battery on the go, and it is super noseless, with super responce. I have a cople, and this pair delivers super stereo immage with super low end for events recording. Also Rode sells compact pencels, probably could be used with the same great results...
