  1. The fs7 and fs5 in hd the skin tones are okay I've found . 8 bit is just hell if the white balance is off as you said . I'd love to see a proper conparison between an fs5 in hd and c100 - I never owned both st the same time . Everyone always uses 4K on the fs5 and tbh it stinks.

  2. Like every 8 bit Sony camera the skin tones are great for gritty stuff but useless for beauty/glamour imo. I'll stick to their 10 bit stuff where it's possible to wrestle the skin tones the right way or canon. Shame because this looked like a winner on paper.

The used prices of the C100 mark1 is so low that Ive got a tough time not getting one.
Feels like I would give up the ridiculous detail of the NX1, Raw, etc. Instead get something I would be able to use in pretty much any situation. And most of all, with 100% confidence in the gear.

I was looking for a b cam and found a c100i with dpaf upgrade for 1300. Crazy good value.

  4. I've bought/rented the a7s, a7sii, a7rii, fs5 and the fs7 recently. The only one I've kept is the fs7- with firmware 3.0 it feels finally like a finished product. I'm glad I didn't buy it when it first came out . It's a fantastic camera once you manage to understand the menus and overcome the ergonomics. The images are fantastic and xavc-I is a great codec in 10 bit.

The rest are good but just didn't seem to give me the performance for the money. I've actually really enjoyed using Panasonic cameras again because of the easy to use menus, touch screens etc. They seem to have a similar concept as canon - obviously they don't have anything to really compete with a c100 but their prosumer range is very good for the money.

Unfortuantely my clients require/love slow mo or I would be all over the canon cinema line. Give me a c200 with 1080p, 120fps, 10 bit and the ergonomics of the c100 and I'd happily pay £5000-6000 for it. The 1dxii looks great but I really need nds, xlrs etc too .

  5. Fs5 is fine in HD in 1.11 as long as its not shooting in the pitch black. I don't really like the 8 bit 4k much but it is what it is. Slog definitely works better on the fs7 but thats to be expected right. I liked the 4K on the A7rii but to me it wasn't worth the £2k so I sold mine too recently.

What is your main cam? The eBay Panasonic store has the G7 at a good price when in stock @ £349 and warranty.

We use an fs5 and fs7 as primary cameras depending on job. Sold the a7rii as photos weren't a priority anymore and we feel it wasn't worth it just for the 4K video.

A7sii would be the best choice of course but we only have around 1800 to invest and need 2 smaller cameras . 2 a6300 just fit but then again for 650  I can have 2 g7 and keep the rest for a holiday. Just depends How they match in post.
