    I think it's a simple mount change.
  2. Panasonic FZ1000 or the FZ300.

Isn't there a simple way to change the mount on Olympus OM to Nikon F?

Holy shit, that was a great deal. That Distagon is probably worth 5 or 600 euros.

I am really interested in the metabones XL but 450 bucks is a lot to spend on an adapter. I have heard good things about the Kippon's Baveyes. They don't have the .64x as the metabones, but there's is s touch better at .7 than the rest. Plus they are starting to float around eBay for less than 200.

I want the Distagon 28mm f2. Are peanuts a Spanish currency?

If I were you, I would go with the FD or the Olympus. With either, you can grab a cheap, excellent 50mm for $50 or less. With FD you can get a 24mm f2 and a 35mm f2 for around $200 each. With those 3 lenses you will have a nice little set. Then you can look for the 17mm f4 later on for around 300 and then a zoom or two. For less than a thousand you can have an excellent set of lenses eventually. Stay with a lens maker though.

Prores works on Windows too. You just have to have the codec on your computer.

With Vivitar, you want to check the serial number. The first two numbers on vintage Vivitar lenses denotes the manufacturer. For instance, if it starts with a 37, then Tokina made it. If it starts with a 28, then Kiron made it, a 22, Komine. They were or are all good lens makers. So, yes the Vivitar 24mm f2 should be a pretty good lens. Also, in my opinion, the Canon FD or the Nikon or the Olympus are all better lenses than the Samyang.

    I think canon FD 24mm f2 is around 2-300
  13. Are you using Magic Lantern on an eos-m with the 3x crop? If so, then I recommend C-mount lenses. No question.

I was just looking for a constant aperture zoom. I looked on eBay and saw the 35-105mm and then found this. For 30 bucks I thought what the hell. I had a small set of FD lenses. I sold all of them... Some of which I paid 3 or 4 times more, but won't sell this. The only issue I have with the lens is that the filter ring is recessed, so it is hard to mount and nd filter. But even at 5.6 you get good bokeh. In fact, I don't think any of the shallow focus shots in that video were shot wide open.

Great lens. I bought this on a whim for 30 bucks. Here it is on an eos-m... Almost zero breathing and amazing bokeh for an f4 lens.

Get the Tokina 24-40mm f2.8 and 35-70mm f2.8. All manual. Beautiful lenses. This is the Tokina 24-40mm on the NX500.
  17. I have found that vivid with -4 sat, 0 contrast, -10 sharp, 0 hue gives really good results. Also custom with same settings is nice. I am glad to see you using calm, before I picked up the g7, that was my next experiment but unfortunately I haven't gotten around to it.
  18. Digital really makes redheads look older.
  19. Yes, this is very interesting. I have a couple ideas for horror web series that a model like this would be perfect for. A friend of mine told me a about a site (I can't remember the name) where you advertise and possibly host your series and you can leverage episode frequencies with how many views you receive. So if you get a loyal fan base of 25 people. For episode 3 (or whatever) you announce you will not air episode 4 until you get 50 views. Due to the way the site works, the new views has to be from different people. Obviously, the idea is that you want to use word of mouth of fans to help generate more fans. By holding back episodes until you get more views, you can essentially get a bigger fan base and the loyal viewers are more than happy to help. Interesting stuff this world wide webs.
  20. Unfortunately, even wide angle m42 lenses are pricy. You can try the Soligor 21mm, they come in a bunch of different mounts and can be had for less than a hundred. Otherwise there's the RMC Tokina 17mm which you can get for about a $150 in good condition.

  23. The sad thing is I am probably only half joking... There are so many options out there and instead of arguing which is the best all around solution, I decided to buy the cheaper solutions that do one or two things well. Each camera is a tool. Eff it, I should just go back to the t2i.
  24. You ain't kidding. Haha. Work has been really busy lately. So, when I can't shoot I buy. BUT, I actually have a plan that involves some selling and some buying, so I'll have a modest 2 camera set up... And a half dozen set of lenses. Unless I get a pocket cam or a micro...
  25. When you get a chance, I'd really like to see something with that lens.
