Is that a Raw photo or a screengrab? Either way, it's wicked!!!
-
@Zak Forsman was that the 18-35mm? Also, excuse my ignorance, but I noticed you wrote this was shot with 59.97 fps, but the Micro has straight 60 fps, is it better to shoot with the 59.97 fps for a specific reason... Same goes for 23.97 as opposed to 24 fps? Also, when shooting 60p(59.97) for slow motion, would you still leave the shutter at 180?
-
Man, that looks amazing. The DR is just incredible. This IQ and slow motion is the exact reason why I am selling almost every lens and camera I own to get one.
-
That's pretty impressive. Thanks for the heads up... It's in my cart.
-
@John Emery nice finds! Those little USB chargers look excellent. How many batteries can you charge with portable charger fully charged?
-
Thanks @Zak Forsman good to hear the Wasabi's work well. My goal with the BMMCC is to create the smallest, cheapest footprint possible, so your tips are priceless.
-
So, I'm slowly collecting the peripherals needed to shoot with the BMMCC. So far, I have lenses, a cage coming in the mail, a 5" monitor, a theory for a good way to mount it, and SD cards. My monitor takes the same batteries as the camera, but I'd rather not shell out the 60 bucks for the official Canon batteries. So I was wondering what aftermarket batteries everyone is using with the Micro? I saw a decent deal on Amazon for the Wasabi batteries but I have read some mixed reviews over the years about their quality control.

I liked the feel of the video and the romantic way you captured the subject, but I think it could have been nice to see the band playing in the background, as street performers, as you followed your subjects. With that being said... It still is quite beautiful and successful as is.

Didn't know you had a Pocket. Very cool combo. Looking forward to some footage.
-
What lenses did you use in this video? It was nice to see your use of available light and how well the camera handled the low light. Good job.

You don't have to use the BMPCC profile... A lot of BMPCC users like the Alexa profile... Or try the Cinestyle. Have you tried different film stocks as well, or adjusted the level of the stock, or the curve of the stock? I only ask because I am really bad at color grading and I have found FilmConvert to be the fastest, simplest way to achieve a nice, color corrected/graded look.

Thanks Ed. It looks like I should be getting my micro in a week or two, so I'll be sure to check it out. Hopefully my weak Mac can handle the Raw.

They are on the G7 too. Auto is better than the presets, but even that runs a little cool. The Jon Voigtlander looks bad ass on the GX80. How is the IBIS with it?
-
I ended up getting a great deal in a new other of this monitor. It does have some kind of blue calibration. Thanks for the help!!!
-
Yeah that lens is awesome. On my list of dream lenses to own one day!!!
-
Has anybody used this monitor? If so, does the screen flip when turned upside down. So far, it seems to be the smallest model I can find but it doesn't have enough mounting options. Also, how is the image quality, build quality, peaking, zebras, etc...?
-
I am looking forward to getting the gx85. I decided to hold off until the price drops in a few months. In the meantime I am really considering picking up the BMMCC. I have a few shorts I am shooting over the next few months and the footage I have seen from the pocket with the voigtlander has me pretty excited for the micro and it's 60p.
-
I had both lenses and I kept the Nikon. The bokeh is nicer, in my opinion, and it's a little better build quality.
-
Yeah, the out of focus highlights can look like footballs.
-
Nice! The more I use this lens, the easier it is to sell other lenses, especially if I take them out with me at the same time. The others just don't stack up. The rendering, even wide open, just blows my mind every time I use it. Are you picking up the GX80/85?
-
Thanks John, most helpful!!! Thank you, for some reason I expected each camera to have it's own manual.
