  1. Luca, here I have to (respectfully) disagree with you. Such a conversion kit would be of very little (to no) interest to me.

As ttbek, I'm 85% a still shooter, who started taking videos since nx1 is so good at it, but for videos, I'm more than served by the (outstanding) s lenses.

I need a (not too exoensive) telephoto lens, in the 300mm range (450mm equivalent) for my nx1.

I tried metabones on a6300 and indeed this could be the ONLY selling point of that camera to me (but...at that point...I would buy a real canon). It worked very well, even in modest light.

This is from Aputure...but is for micro 4/3...but...if we change the rear flange, of course the distance between the lens and the sensor must be adjusted, but we will control the aperture and the focus...probably or it's complete a stupid thing?(and it's a focal reducer too)

For me such a tool would be of no interest. I'd like real af for stills shooting with tele lenses.

I used the 16-50 2/2.8 S lens only (only lens I have for it). I generated a LUT from resolve's Color Match feature (input LUT) if you would like to play with it. Keep in mind this is based of a single example after setting my white balance with the gray card and the listed settings. For a more accurate run and gun setting (when I don't have the color checker with me) I would ideally find the average variation between color temps and in camera white balance.

Gamma C was more accurate than Normal (Gamma DR being the best). I tried out all of the picture wizard settings, but they were pretty all over the place (not that I was expecting much out of Forrest or Retro). A second setting that came oddly close to my listed settings from the last post used all of the same settings except for (color 1.04 Red, 0.93 Green, 1.04 Blue).

I am going to play around with this setting in some non-clinical uses. I like it so far in tandem with resolve's film looks, as long as they are scaled back a little. I do like Ricardo's Settings with Gamma C and the raised black level for more heavily graded uses.

    NX1-GammaDR-custom-alpha_1.SAM_0908_1080P_ProRes422_LT.cube

So the lut should be applied over a file recorded with gamma dr, r 1.04, g 0.93, b1.04 and no other changes? Thx.

Now I can control the iris on Canon lens, this is a short test with canon 50mm F8.

The lens with NXL is very sharpness, non used hack, no Dr profile.

Videomakers stay tuned, big news coming soon, it is soon to send her into retirement.

So...iris controllable from nx1 body? With the rear wheel like with nx lenses?

    What about af?

I'm still waiting for the NX1 IBIS hack, or a fast prime wider than 85mm, or a parfocal cine zoom with stepless iris and no focus shift...

    Your trolling is still sad.

And so is your "out of context reply". But I'll bite. I never cared about IBIS, since the DIS is really effective, especially when paired to the OIS in the lenses.

For the rest, an intelligent canon to NX adapter is in the work (lurk on the thread). When this is released...I guess you'll buy ten NX1 bodies...or not? :)

As to sony, I'm still waiting for a decent UI, sensor with less RS, h.265, high bitrate, decently priced good lenses, APSC lenses, ....................................... (too long a list)

  6. Laughter is not always amusement. Could be bitter laughter. And this is the case. Even 2 years after the release of 4k cameras with full sensor readout, able to give great iq, less rs and h.265 compression on the fly, at high bitrates, sony can't deliver a chip which is on par. This is sad.

  7. I will never buy a sony, at least not with that ui. And I won't buy a new camera unless it gives h.265 at high bitrate, at 10bit 4:2:2 internal recording with full sensor readout and possibly 4k@60 and 2k@120.

AND at least the same quality and speed of nx1 for stills.

Well the internet says the a6300 overheats after just a few minutes, WTF is up here?

    Sarcasm.

I have 1.10 and my a6300 hasn't overheated yet. I live in Florida, its hot as hell here, I even shot a wedding in Tucson AZ, where its even hotter.

    Zero overheating.

But I didn't have any issues with the a7rII either, I shut my camera off between just about every take to preserve batteries. That's always worked for me, even with the a5100 and the Nex7 which overheated more than any E-mount body I've owned.

Why do you find amusement with someone potentially having problems with their gear? That's the sad trolling part. So sad.

Nothing amusing with that. Just...seeing the worshippers of sony finally opening their eyes in front of hard realty.

Why do you care? Still playing the pathetic NX1 troll eh? So sad...

This is great news, the crazy buffer, IBIS and less overheating, I'm buying two and dumping my a7rII.

What's your problem? Where did I mention nx1? Or, perhaps, that camera is so much better than any sony you own that you feel obliged to dream about it in your worst nightmares? ;-)

Any chance the a7S III will sport:

    • improved color rendition/palette
    • 10 bit internal

Sidenote:  How large could one print photos taken on the a7s II 12mp camera?  Is the a7rII that much better for printing large images?  Such as huge posters for wall artwork in an apartment?  48" 52" image max?

And what about cropping? If you never need to crop, 12mp could be enough.
