Not understanding that BMD discussion wrt timecode. It accepts it in but doesn't jam to it..preset only? So...has to be continuously fed by a tentacle, mozegear or similar box? That would be standard op for most..but most cams need to be switched to free run (as opposed to preset) for that to work.

Savannah, Dbounce is not focusing on the leaked footage in his quote. It's not "hate" to be cautious, realistic in terms of deliverable product...ESPECIALLY with a new sensor implementation and manufacturing issues in flux. But maybe using a sensor already used by competitors will make for a solid roll-out. Petty himself seemed to feel the announcement might be premature. We shall see.

In this arena, and with the $$ involved in this issue, I would be far more concerned about the volatility of the camera (really all tech) market in terms of value degradation due to that beneficial competition. Also, imagine DaVinci owners who bought just prior to BMD ownership..

That seems like a really bad business approach...unless at the outset they call it an introductory price. And what do you mean by "enough production capacity"? The higher the production capacity, the more likely economies of scale can lower the cost.
